Chapter 62: 62- Vulnerable Side

Ruby’s eyes flicked to the end of the huge hall where Hunter was standing, with his arms folded on his chest.

Jerk! Why is he smiling?

He was looking at Sienna with a proud grin.

He never expressed himself when he was with me. What changed this time?

Ruby tried to smile, too conscious of people around her, "Hunter is our secretary, and I thought..."

She trailed off when Sienna shook her head and raised her index finger in warning, "My secretary!" She stepped closer to Ruby, "Hunter is my secretary, and the people working here— that’s my staff. They are not here to run your personal errands. You want coffee? Go and get it for yourself."

There was dead silence in the lobby, and Ruby wished she could die and be reborn for the third time. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

All the staff members were standing quietly, not daring to move, while Sienna held Ruby’s gaze boldly.

Ruby lowered her eyes, "I understand, Sienna. And I apologize."

She couldn’t afford to lose the job. She was getting a lot from Tom and Papa for this.

At least she could afford a decent space for herself.

One day, you all will curse Sienna when you see me achieving fame through one movie.

Sienna was still worked up when she pushed open her office door.

What does she think of herself? How dare she send my husband to fetch coffee for her?

She was muttering to herself when out of nowhere a hand grabbed her wrist and shut the door behind her with a loud thud.

Her back hit the door, "What the hell..."

The words died on her lip as she found Hunter standing close, one hand braced beside her head, the other behind her ass.

"You’re a born leader!" His voice was low as he nuzzled his nose into the crook of her neck. Sienna held her breath, trying to understand if this was real.

"Hunter."

"Hmm," His muffled voice came from her neck as he brushed his lips against the skin.

"Y— you... shouldn’t be doing this here..." Her breath had gotten uneven. Just a few minutes back, she gave a warning to Ruby and all her staff members.

But right now, her own self-control was slipping away.

For a second, her husband tilted back his head to look at her face and then stepped back. Sienna blinked, not ready for this.

She pressed her back to the door, breathing hard. Before she could make sense of it, Hunter’s hand moved to his collar without breaking eye contact, and he started unbuttoning his shirt.

Sienna’s breath was caught in her throat, "Hunter— what are you doing?" Her voice shook, but he didn’t answer as another button slipped open.

Sienna swallowed hard, trying not to look away.

"I just want to feel your hands on my skin, sugar," He said quietly. Her mouth went dry.

Her eyes dropped for a second before snapping back to his face, "Th—this is insane..." She breathed out the words.

He got rid of his shirt and took a step closer, "Nothing makes sense to me anymore, Sienna,"

Sienna stared at him as he placed his palms on either side of her face.

"H... Hunter..."

"I liked it," He whispered, "When you fought for me."

Sienna flashed a wobbly smile, "I – spoke for all my staff members, Hunter."

Today, it didn’t feel that odd to see him wearing dark shades. Slowly, she raised her hand and placed it flat on his naked chest.

Surprise flickered on his face when she rubbed her palm on his chest like an innocent child who knew nothing about the world. Who wanted to discover how a man’s skin felt against his palm.

His hand came up and caught her wrist gently, guiding it higher to his nipples, "Whenever you’re closer ... I can’t think of anything else."

Sienna chuckled as a tear dropped from her eye. This was how she felt whenever he was nearby.

She didn’t know if she should tell him about her, about her past life. Would he believe her?

Hunter leaned in as his lips brushed away another teardrop from her face. He was now showering butterfly kisses along her cheek, her jaw, stopping just close to her lips.

"Don’t," She whispered, though she didn’t move away.

"Don’t what?" He kissed her eyes one by one.

"Don’t make it harder," She whispered, not knowing why she was crying.

"I won’t stop until you quit crying..."

"I’m not crying," She chuckled, though another tear betrayed her.

His hands slipped to her waist as he pulled her closer. Sienna finally looked up, her lashes damp and her lips slightly parted. Hunter’s control snapped as his mouth came down to crash hers with urgency, demanding.

Sienna let out a soft gasp that was swallowed by his mouth instantly. His mouth moved against hers, slower and deeper.

One of his hands moved to her ass, grinding her clit into him, letting her feel his hard cock. Her hands took the life of her own as she kept sliding them on his back, pressing him to her.

It looked like she was not the only one holding back her emotions. Hunter swiped his tongue over her lower lip, making her gasp. He took the opportunity to enter his tongue and taste her mouth.

He liked her taste because a low guttural moan escaped him as their tongues collided. Suddenly, Sienna wanted to pull her thighs together when she felt the heat between her legs.

A sharp knock made her freeze, making her realize where she was and what she was doing. With a gasp, she pulled back a little, with panic written all over her face.

For a moment, Hunter didn’t move, then he stepped back slowly, "Relax," He muttered under his breath.

Sienna felt cold at the loss of physical contact.

He bent down to pick up his shirt and ran a hand through his hair before heading towards the bathroom, "Don’t worry. I won’t let anyone judge you for this."

"Ms. Sienna!" Nora knocked again on the door, but Sienna didn’t respond. She was aware that nobody would dare to enter her office if she didn’t allow.

But what would have happened if there had been no knock?

What was she about to do?

Show him her vulnerable side?

She gulped down the sudden lump and tried to control her thumping heart. Hunter was still in the bathroom, and she should leave before he came out.

Grabbing the purse from her seat, she rushed outside, "I’m going out for a meeting," She informed an executive before leaving the lobby. She wanted to get as far away from this place as possible.
