However, there was no point in regretting it. The old woman was way beyond the point where she could turn things around. She raised her head and glared at Han Ruochen, feeling a surge of hatred in her heart. It was all because of this woman; if she hadn’t poked her nose into her matter, then she wouldn’t have been caught.

When Han Ruochen saw the woman glaring at her, she was part stumped and part speechless. This was really... the thief was actually calling the police a thief. Why was this old woman glaring at her? Was she supposed to stay quiet and let the woman scheme against her?

"You—you won’t have an easy death!" the old woman cursed Han Ruochen when the officers started to drag her away. She was so furious upon knowing that she had lost all the comforts and rich life she was dreaming of that the old woman’s mouth was covered in foam. The old woman stared at Han Ruochen as if she wanted to eat her flesh and drink her blood. She screeched at the top of her lungs, "I curse you! You—"

When Han Ruochen saw that the old woman had lost her mind, she wanted to give her a piece of her mind, but her vision was blocked by Zhai Muchen, who stepped in front of her and glared back at the old woman. He spoke in a deadly calm voice. "What are you all doing? Can’t all of you drag an old woman away?"

The young officers blushed red. They had been putting little to no effort because they did not want to hurt the old woman. Even if she was a human trafficker, it did not change the fact that she was an old woman. What if they pulled a nerve or broke a bone? Who would take responsibility for it?

But after being scolded by Zhai Muchen, they did not dare to drag the matter any longer.

Zhai Muchen watched the old woman being dragged away and turned to look at Han Ruochen. He asked softly, "Were you scared?" Han Ruochen was, after all, just a young woman. First, she was targeted by the human traffickers, and then she was cursed at in such a fierce manner. She must have been scared.

But to his surprise, Han Ruochen simply rolled her eyes at him. "Why will I be scared? I haven’t done anything wrong. I am a person with a clear conscience. Only those who have a dark heart with ghosts will be worried." She did not lower her voice and made sure that the old woman heard what she was saying. Not an easy death? But even when the old woman wanted to charge at Han Ruochen and scratch her face, she couldn’t do anything and could only allow herself to be helplessly dragged outside the train. However, just as she thought that the matter would come to an end, she saw Brother Scar being handcuffed outside the train with the other human traffickers as well.

They all were looking at her as if she had done some great sin, making the woman shrink her neck in fear. It seemed like she was going to be in really big trouble very soon. Since their team was caught, it would not take long for the army to trace down the rest of the people as well. When that happens, she will be the one who becomes the sinner of the entire team.

And the old woman was spot on. Just three months into prison, and she was found dead in her prison cell.

Of course, this was a matter of the future and had nothing to do with Han Ruochen.

After the human traffickers were taken away, Han Yichen patted his chest and heaved a sigh of relief. "Honestly, these days you cannot trust anyone.
