Han Ruochen only got enough time to read those words, when the sea started to churn underneath their boat. The sea guardian seemed to have taken the attack on Han Ruochen as a personal attack on his own safety. It started to move faster on its own. The movement were predatory, dangerous and aggresive. The beast circled around the boats that had surrounded Han Ruochen making the water rise and fall.

Waves started to slam against the speedboats violently, causing them to rock along the rising and falling waves.

"What the–" the leader of the illegal treasure hunters caught hold of the railings of the boat and looked at the waves that were getting bigger and bigger with each passing second.

One of the treasure hunters could not help but nervously cry out in surprise. "Boss, something ...something seems to be moving under us!"

The boss also sensed it but he still refused to believe that the fish was going to attack them. The sea creature had a mind of its own, why would it protect a human? Maybe it was just drifting away from here. He gritted his teeth and said to the treasure hunters, "Get a grip and keep moving." He raised his gun and aimed the noozle at Han Ruochen. He was determined to snatch the things from Han Ruochen. Because if they failed then their boss would have their heads.

They had to bring a stock back or things won’t look pretty for them.

He turned to look at Han Ruochen and yelled at the top of his lungs, "hand over the cargo or else you will lose your life."

"This is your last warning!"

Han Ruochen turned her attention to the leader of the illegal treasure hunters and heaved a breath. She did not want to use a sword against ants but it seemed like these pests won’t leave her alone if she did not send them packing. Annoyed, she raised her hand and brushed the hair that was whipping against her face. Then she used the sea scanning system to increase the bond resonance between her and the sea guardian.

A faint blue light shimmered in the darkness and the sea guardian emerged from the surface of the water. The action alone caused the sea to explode upward. A colossal body appeared in front of the illegal treasure hunters. The gigantic figure towered over the speedboats like a nightmare dragged from the abyss.

Every single one of the illegal treasure hunter turned pale in an instant when they saw the giant monster in front of them. Their gaze fell on the scarred fins and all of a sudden they could no longer breathe properly. What was going on? What should they do now?

They all turned to look at their boss. After all, he was the one who told them that it was fine and that the thing would not attack them. But now this monster was standing right in front of them!

"Boss...what should we do now? You said that it will not attack us."

One of the hunters could not help but blame their boss. Just a few seconds ago they had enough time to escape from the danger in front of them but they stayed behind because their boss insisted that the sea creature would not attack them. But now? What was the situation in front of them? Could they even escape from this thing now that it had surrounded them like this?

"Shut up." the boss gritted its teeth feeling a bit annoyed. He indeed never thought that the thing in front of them would suddenly attack them. After all, he was quite sure that the sea creature had been calmly overseeing everything in front of it. So why did it suddenly join the fray?

"But boss—"

"I said shut up!" the man roared as he took the rifle out and aimed it at the eye of the sea creature. He did not believe that he could not take this thing down. After all, he had dealt with such things countless times, surely he could also kill this thing?

With that thought, he raised his hand and aimed the gun at the beast.

"No—" Han Ruochen saw what the man was doing and wanted to stop him. She was worried that the sea guardian would get injured because of her but she could not stop the man as he pulled the trigger and shot the bullet at the sea guardian.

BANG!

The sound of the bullet leaving the gun barrel echoed in the silence of the sea.

Han Ruochen’s pupils shook when she saw the bullet being shot, as her senses were better than most, she was able to see it clearly.

The bullet hit the sea creature right across its fin. Fortunately, the distance and the winds added another factor the entire situation which made it difficult for the bullet to hit the eye of the sea guardian but it still grazed the guardian’s stone like hide.

Han Ruochen: "..." Was this the legendary asking the bull to slam its horn into them?

Han Ruochen knew that the sea guardian had no intention of attacking these people. At most it wanted to scare them away, but who would have thought that these fools would actually think of attacking it before it attacked them?

Sure enough, as soon as the leader attacked the sea guardian, another notification popped on the screen.

That fool! Han Ruochen cursed as she looked at the thing in front of her. She wanted to sto the sea guardian but—

The guardian moved faster.

So fast that she did not even have the time to stop it. For something so gigantic, it moved with quite a pace. Han Ruochen was horrified when she saw its tail whipping one of the speedboat.

The entire vessel was flipped sideways like a toy. The men standing on top of it were sent flying and were dumped into the ocean as they yelled like maniacs while trying to swim in the violent currents.
