Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System
Chapter 294: Moral Kidnapping
The other boat tried to flee, but it seemed like the sea guardian had eyes at the back of his head. The sea guardian turned to look at the boat that turned to steer away; it peeled its lips upward, showcasing its many teeth. The boss of the illegal hunters stiffened when he saw the sea guardian turning to look at him. He wanted to escape, but before he could even steer the boat away, the water underneath his boat exploded.
BOOM!
The sea erupted upward beneath the hull, launching the speedboat partially out of the water before it crashed back down sideways. The second the boat was sent flying, chaos exploded everywhere. Treasure hunters started to shout in horror as they dropped into the water like falling dominoes. They tried to get back to the surface by holding the pieces of wreckage that had accumulated around them.
Han Ruochen had a feeling that these people would have stayed underneath the surface if they could.
The sea guardian moved again; seeing this, Han Ruochen stiffened. Though she wanted to get rid of these illegal hunters, she did not wish to use the sea guardian as a killing machine. He wanted to protect her, and Han Ruochen had no desire to use him.
Don’t!
Han Ruochen shouted inwardly in her head. She was worried that the sea guardian would kill these people for her.
The screen of the sea scanning system glowed, and a second later, the guardian paused. He turned his enormous head and looked at Han Ruochen. Then, as if he seemed to have understood her intention, he stopped moving. He slowly went back into the water, making the waves rise and fall for a few seconds before disappearing. Even though there was no visible connection between the sea guardian and Han Ruochen, the leader of the illegal hunters seemed to have jumped to the most unrealistic conclusion.
"Mon...Monster...you...you are a monster." The leader of the thugs shouted at Han Ruochen. He noticed how the monstrous thing looked at Han Ruochen before disappearing into the sea. The leader of the illegal hunters had no idea what Han Ruochen did or how she was able to tame such a monstrous creature; he just knew that the thing was protecting that woman.
There was no other explanation for it.
Han Ruochen glanced at the man with a hint of disdain in her eyes. Even if the man doubted something, there was no evidence. What could he even prove by yelling such things? She snorted and said, "It seems like you were hit on the head. What do you mean by calling me a monster?" She then turned on her feet and walked to the cabin, where she turned the ignition of the boat on and steered her motorboat.
Though she stopped the sea guardian from killing them, she had no intention of saving these people. Whether or not they could survive depended on their fate.
Those illegal treasure hunters could only watch the motorboat drive away helplessly.
"Did we really survive?" Tong Zhaodi, on the other hand, was looking at the illegal treasure hunters who were trying to get onto the wreckage of the boat. When their boat was surrounded by the illegal treasure hunters, she was sure that they all were going to die. Why wouldn’t she? After all, those people actually had guns in their hands.
It would be surprising if they were to escape unscathed from such an ordeal.
Zhai Heng also looked behind. He glanced at the little specks that were bobbing up and down in the sea. "I guess so." He had to admit that they were really lucky. Just like Tong Zhaodi, he was certain that they were done for. Illegal treasure hunters were known for their ruthlessness. If they caught someone, the chances of survival of their victims would be close to none. After all, who would look for them in this vast sea? Their bodies would be eaten before the rescue team could even look for them. No one would even find them. This was the reason why the people of the illegal treasure-hunting teams were so arrogant. Because once they robbed someone, the chances of being caught were really slim. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
The two of them were still reeling from the fact that they had survived such an ordeal.
While Han Ruochen was lost in her own thoughts, though these crates were valuable, she did not have the channel to sell them. The last time she caught the pearls, she left them in Zhai Muchen’s care. The man had already wired the money to her in the bank account, but she did not have the chance to take a look at it at the moment. But now, Han Ruochen knew that Zhai Muchen was in the army.
She could not possibly ask Zhai Muchen to send these things to the auction house, could she? After all, the man had his own responsibilities as the commander of the army.
Zhai Heng sensed that the woman was thinking about something and could not help but ask, "What’s the matter? Why are you so quiet?"
He thought that Han Ruochen was scared silly by what happened just now.
His idea was simple. Han Ruochen was the owner of the boat, which instinctively made her responsible for the life and death of those who were on board. It was not a surprise that she was scared. If something had happened to them when they were with her, people would have drowned her with their spit alone.
However, he underestimated Han Ruochen’s courage. Though she was scared, she was able to recover quite fast. She was now worried about the contents of the crates. She turned to look at Zhai Heng and said in a loud voice, as the whipping winds would have drowned her voice, "I am worried about the crates... we have no channel to sell them." She could sell the sea ginseng at the Emerald Pavilion but what about the pearls and coins?
