Catching the dark sword knight somewhat off guard, as he hadn’t been expecting her to use magic considering the information he had received from the guardian shadow walker didn’t contain anything about her using magic. Allowing her to seize the initiative in the battle and push back utilizing her water magic to conjure up dozens of water blades and spears to attack the dark sword knight from all directions attempting to take advantage of him only using a single sword for fighting.

"Hmph! Underestimating me!" Unfortunately, someone at the SS Rank wasn’t to be underestimated, as he directly conjured up a ball of pure darkness around himself that directly blocked the incoming magic entirely. Rendering her attack useless if not for the fact that she had taken the opportunity to distance herself from the dark sword knight by flying into the sky.

Feeling somewhat relived now that she had managed to take to the sky... A sense of relief that was short lived, as the dark sword knight below suddenly sprouted a pair of bat wings after blocking her magic attacks before taking to the sky chasing after her. Rendering Scaly speechless for a good few seconds, as this was the first time she had seen a human sprout a pair of wings. Not having expected them to gain this kind of unique ability once they reached level 150 and stepped into the SS Rank.

And what followed was a chaotic chase through the sky, as Scaly kept using her magic to attack from afar, while the dark sword knight continued chasing after her while fending off her magic with his greatsword of magic of his own, a chaotic scene that wasn’t much different from the one playing out below them as Verdell also decided to make use of his small legs to run while throwing fireballs towards the enemy chasing him from behind while in the process of throwing up blood from internal injuries he had no time to recover from since he had been forced to escape from Scaly and Verdell a few hours earlier.

In all honest, he hadn’t been planning on clashing with the two of them yet and had originally followed this old friend of his to deliver what he had been sent out to gather before he would help him in finding Verdell and Scaly.

The reason why he was lending him a hand at this very moment didn’t have much to do with the fact that he wanted to help, but more so the fact that he wanted to monopolize the dragon. Knowing just how valuable the body of a dragon was. Especially so for someone like them who came from the Eternal Life Sanctum.

In a way, it wasn’t wrong to say that delivering this kind of corpse to the senior below would instantly elevate their status within the Eternal Life Sanctum to a level far beyond what they would ever be able to achieve on their own.

And seeing this from up above, the dark sword knight that had originally been chasing after Scaly while being bombarded with magic that left him with little choice but to focus most of his attention on defense, shifted his attention away from Scaly a dove down towards the human torch that had just finished its evolution below. Intending on reverting its glorious evolution back into a normal human again.

Of course, as someone who knew just how beneficial an evolution was to someone, Scaly rushed forth to stop this transgression with all her might. Stopping her retreat and instead shifting entirely to the offensive against the dark sword knight intending to save the guardian shadow walker below.

Understanding that if that fellow really did get a chance to interfere with the battle below, Verdell wouldn’t be able to make it out alive with his current strength. Maybe because of this, Scaly shifted away from using water magic. Knowing it wouldn’t arrive in time to stop the dark sword knight.

Instead changing to use the lighting magic that hadn’t seen much light lately because of how mana draining and inefficient it was compared to any other kind of magic.
