Watching the surging sea of bones rapidly disappearing inside the flesh mountain below, both Scaly and Verdell felt a sense of profound wonder. Not so much because of the vast sea bones, but more so because the seemingly endless sea of bones disappeared into thin air once they entered the flesh mountain. The explosive growth that the two of them had somewhat expected from the squirming mountain of flesh didn’t happen, as the bones swallowed up by it had seemingly just disappeared into thin air instead of becoming a source of fuel for the mountain to grow.

This continued for a little over three minutes before every single bone that had once covered the ground below disappeared into the flesh mountain. Leaving behind a desolate landscape with nothing but the towering mountain made of flesh standing.

Rumble~

But as Scaly found herself about to descend towards the ground to investigate the strange disappearance of the bones more closely, the towering mountain of flesh suddenly began trembling violently before suddenly deflating rapidly-

Bang!

Before suddenly blowing up, scattering blood and flesh everywhere in the process.

Leaving both Scaly and Verdell speechless at the sight. None of them had expected the mountain of flesh to suddenly deflate before blowing up the next second, though Scaly quickly understood why as she remembered the description of the flesh monster that had specified that it needed a vast quantity of blood to sustain itself.

Now that the blood vessels supplying it with blood had been cut off and swallowed alongside the sea of bones, it was only obvious that it would die. Only, she hadn’t expected it to go out in such a dramatic fashion. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

At the very least, the death of the flesh mountain allowed them to see what had been hiding beneath the mountain of flesh, a familiar passage leading downwards towards an even lower floor of the swirling sands dungeon than the one they were already on. "Just how deep is this dungeon..." Something that caused Verdell to silently curse to himself. Unable to imagine the strength of the monsters on an even deeper floor than the one they currently found themselves on, as SS Rank Monsters beyond ordinary SS Rank Monsters had already emerged on this floor in the form of the mist bound behemoth.

If he was honest, he wanted nothing to do with a floor even further down than the deadly floor he had already found himself on, but he couldn’t deny that he was feeling just as curious as Scaly when it came to what had happened to all those bones... And a quick peek wouldn’t hurt anyone and would at the same time also give him a chance to see if the towering mountain of flesh had dropped anything valuable upon its death.

But almost the second his feet touched the ground after jumping off Scaly as she landed next to the passage leading downwards to the next floor of the dungeon, the sound of movement echoed out through the desolate landscape somewhere behind the two of them... And turning around, he saw two figures emerging from the mist in the distance. Among which he spotted a familiar figure that he just so happened to have thrown a fireball at not that long ago.

"Damned dwarf! We meet again! Don’t you dare think about running away!" And as he spotted him alongside Scaly, the guardian shadow walker, who was still in a barely stable state after the deadly battle, also spotted him. Yelling out loudly filled with anger before rushing forward filled with killing intent that almost seemed to seep out of his eyes.

The humiliation of being caught off guard by an adventurer that was still only at the A Rank was not something that could simply be forgotten and had to addressed by killing off the culprit- or that was at least what the guardian shadow walker thought to himself as he rushed forward towards Verdell. Not paying the slightest bit of attention to Scaly in the process.

Not because he was underestimating Scaly, he had already seen her in action, but instead because of the person who had been standing beside him.

From a single glance, it was clear why, as while this person was also in a somewhat injured state after what should have been a difficult battle no less challenging than the one that the guardian shadow walker had experienced, he hadn’t been ambushed by a dragon and dwarf in the process and managed to get out in a somewhat good state by the end of it.

In other words, he was an enemy Scaly had to take seriously and didn’t have the time to protect Verdell facing such a strong enemy, though... Looking at the current state of the guardian shadow walker where he had almost started coughing up blood just as he was running forward towards Verdell, she had a feeling she didn’t have to worry too much about him.

However, remembering how the guardian shadow walker had been working alongside a team of people as he took on the mist bound behemoth, she had to also keep an eye out for other people still lurking within the mist who might be waiting for an opportunity to strike when she let her guard down.

Of course, it was possible that the team of this dark sword knight had perished like the team of the guardian shadow walker she had wiped out, but she couldn’t afford to let her guard down in this kind of situation and had to be on guard.

After all, outside of the two humans they were currently facing off against, there was still the mysterious necromancer behind the creation of the flesh mountain.

Even if there was a good chance the other party had already left this floor through the passage behind that had emerged from beneath the flesh mountain, one could never to too cautious...
