"Hey, how’s it going, Lumena? Making any progress?" I inquired as I entered the room.

"Hm? Oh, hey, Larrk...wish I had better news, but I’m really struggling with this," She responded with a sigh, dark circles under her eyes.

Today’s the 25th of Junius, 2021, I’d tasked Lumena with trying to come up with a counter against the Vampires’ moonlight barrier that Terrastra had told us about.

There were other individuals in Arcadia who were capable of making Magic Items, but Lumena was the most proficient at it in the nation, and the others kinda ended up holding her back, so I had them work separately while she worked solo.

"You’re looking really worn out, are you getting any sleep?" I asked her with concern.

"Uh...I think so? Maybe? It’s all kind of a blur. Last night, I-...no, wait, was it two nights ago? Or maybe three...hm, I’m not sure. Anyway, I-...wait, what was I talking about?" She responded, her eyes glazed over.

"I think you were about to tell me about something you did. Also, get some sleep, you need it," I replied, as I patted her head.

"Mm, that feels nice, keep doing that...oh, right, I remember now. I kinda lost focus and made a bunch of Magic Items that are totally unrelated to my task...I made three before I realized that I had gone completely off track," She remarked as I continued patting her head, before she shook her head as her eyelids began to droop.

"Yeah...I insist that you get some sleep."

"This is so frustrating...I mean, do you have any idea how hard it is to make a counter for a Magic Item I’ve never seen before!? So now I’m trying to figure out how to make the moonlight barrier Magic Item myself, but...! But-...wait, I forgot what I was going to say..."

"You can’t function like this, go sleep and refresh your mind, that might help-...," I began.

"And another thing! I got so lucky...if I hadn’t met you when I did, I’d probably still have been in the Light Continent and gotten turned into a Vampire. Oh, but...I probably wouldn’t have cared since I would have still been a slave..."

Okay, she’s not even listening.

"Hey, you wanna see one of the Magic Items I made?" She asked me, as she opened a drawer and took out an object.

"Uh, maybe later, for now you really should-..."

"Here, just grab hold of this end," She cut me off, as she held it out towards me.

"Fine, but go to sleep after this," I sighed, as I reached out and took hold of it.

"Now, just run some Mana into it aaaand...go!"

Hm? What the...? What’s going on? I feel so...so sleepy. And why am I sitting? Wasn’t I standing just now? And my body feels different...

"Woah! Holy shit! I feel so good...your body’s so strong. And so well rested, I feel wide awake now...yeah, I think I might have been a bit delirious with the lack of sleep."

Huh? Is that...my voice? I don’t know, I-I’m...I’m too sleepy to think clearly. Wh-what’s...what’s happening? Everything is...starting to...go dark...

"Uh, Larrk? You okay? Hello?" Came my voice, continuing to talk but I couldn’t make out what was being said, as my eyelids fluttered shut...

"Hm? Oh, hey, you’re finally waking up. It’s been sixteen hours since you passed you."

"Huh...? What’s going on, I-...wait, what’s going on with my voice? I feel so-...," I muttered as I opened my eyes and sat up, before trailing off as I looked down at myself, my eyes widening as I added in bewilderment, "U-uh...why do I have boobs?"

"So, the Magic Item I showed you, it swaps bodies. Well, more specifically, it swaps minds...your mind is in my body, and my mind is in your body."

"Wait...Lumena? Is that you?" I responded in bemusement, as I stared at, uh...myself.

"Mhm, that’s right. Since your body was well rested, after we swapped and you passed out in my body, I carried you to my room, then went back and continued working on the Magic Item...I think I managed to create the moonlight barrier, I’ll work on a counter for it after we switch back to our own bodies," She replied with a grin.

It’s so weird hearing her tone and inflections in my voice, not to mention her physical mannerisms. This is a lot to process...for starters, she just created an absolutely insane Magic Item while fatigued to the point of delirium.

"I’m having a hard time wrapping my mind around this...huh, so this is what it feels like to have boobs," I mused, as I fondled her chest...or wait, I guess it’s my chest right now.

"I can relate, having a dick feels so weird. Oh, I should probably tell you, I tried jerking off earlier...multiple times, actually. It was...different. Also, after spurting, I felt this weird melancholic feeling, like slightly depressed, almost. It didn’t last long though," She recalled thoughtfully.

"That’d be the post-nut clarity, also known as masturbator’s remorse. Alright, this was interesting and all, but let’s switch back now," I remarked, as I got out of the bed.

"Uh, yeah, about that...I can’t switch us back."

"...I’m sorry, what?"

"Hey, relax, I wasn’t saying that we’re stuck like this. we’ll switch back automatically after twenty-four hours. That’s a little under eight hours away," She informed me.

"So we’re stuck like this for the next eight hours?" I responded incredulously.

"Yeah, my bad. But hey, it’s not all bad...I mean, when else are you going to get the opportunity to feel what it’s like to be a woman?" She pointed out with a wry smile.

"Okay, I’d be lying if I said I’m not curious..."
