Chapter 393: Chapter 393 - Vampire Attack(Part 19)

So, that’s an Elder Vampire, huh? Or at least, a clone of an Elder Vampire. Frielektra and Terrastra are fighting the original, so it’s up to the rest of us to deal with the clones and minimize the damage they cause.

Fortunately, it looks like our forces are managing to hold their own against the Vampires and Lesser Vampires, despite the numbers disadvantage...let’s hope they can keep it up, that’ll let me and the others who were called in as backup deal with these clones.

As the Elder Vampire clone chased after a civilian with a creepy smile on her face, I swiftly flew up and manifested my Soul Weapon, before rapidly swooping down as I raised my axe up and swung it down while increasing the gravitational pull on it as I closed in on her.

She swiftly halted and turned her gaze up as my axe sliced through the air and down towards her, before she quickly veered off to her left, my axe hitting her right shoulder and slicing through, cutting off her right arm.

Blood gushed out as she flew back and got some distance, her arm growing back rapidly as she fixed her gaze onto me, her smile not fading in the slightest, even for a second.

"Hm? You appear to just be an ordinary human...my, how careless of me," She remarked as her arm finished regenerating.

"It’s been a while since I’ve been in a real fight...hope I’m not too rusty," I replied as I cracked my neck, before unleashing a blinding flash of light from my fingertip, forcing her eyes shut as I then whipped my arm across, firing out a slashing wave of water towards her.

She unleashed bursts of blood from her body while flying up, one of the bursts hitting my attack and slowing it down, just enough that it narrowly missed the bottom of her feet as she zipped up into the air.

I then shot towards her, firing out a barrage of water arrows as her eyes slowly began to open, one of the arrows grazing her right side before she swiftly evaded the rest.

As I closed in on her, she extended out her claws and shot towards me, driving them at my throat before I quickly turned my body across, her claws grazing the front of my neck and drawing out trickles of blood.

I quickly fired off a blast of wind from my mouth, hitting her right temple before flying back as her head jerked across to the left.

Strange...why isn’t she using any blood attacks? Is it simply because she isn’t taking me seriously? No, I’m not quite getting that vibe...so, then, why?

I then fired off blasts of water as she came chasing after me, which she evaded with ease, before closing in on me and driving her fist towards my stomach.

I quickly formed a mass of water over my stomach, absorbing some of the force of her strike before her fist burst through and slammed onto the middle of my stomach, eliciting a sharp wheeze of pain from me before I found myself hurtling back through the air with immense force.

I gritted my teeth and unleashed a burst of wind from my back to cancel out the momentum, before my eyes widened in alarm as I spotted her swooping down towards me rapidly.

I quickly raised my axe up defensively, before she swiftly twisted her body across in midair and whipped her heel down towards the top of my head.

I fired off a concentrated burst of wind above my head as fast as I could while dropping down, slowing down the swing of her foot before he heel collided against the top of my head with a jarring impact and sent me plummeting down towards the ground as my head throbbed with pain, trickles of blood running down my forehead and matting my hair down.

I healed myself as I closed in on the ground, before forming a thick mass of water below me to break my fall, a loud splash echoing out as I crashed onto the water, quickly turning my gaze ul as the Vampire shot down towards me with immense speed, too fast for me to dodge...this is it, I’ve been waiting for this...

As she closed in on me and plunged her claws down towards my throat, I swiftly activated my Teleportation Skill, teleporting right above her before chanting...

"Initiate Skill: Physical Boost...x10."

She began to turn around as fast as she could, but she was too slow...I swung my axe down at full force as my Skill multiplied my physical strength tenfold, while increasing the gravitational pull on my axe to its absolute limit.

The blade of the axe collided against the middle of the Vampire’s back in the blink of an eye, well before she could react, a deafening crash ringing out as the front of her body slammed onto the ground with a devastating impact, the ground breaking apart and sinking in as my axe sliced through her back and shattered her core.

Deep cracks spread out across the ground as the force of the swing of my axe formed a deep crater, clouds of dust rising up as the entire surrounding area rumbled...

"I-I see, you deliberately held back to draw me in. Well played, human," She remarked as she shakily turned her gaze back towards me with a slight smirk, before she burst into a puddle of blood and splattered across the dirt.

Yeah, that was a really risky move...if I’d used my Teleportation and Physical Boost Skills right from the start, she’d have been more on-guard against me. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

But since I didn’t use those Skills until the very end, she dropped her guard once it seemed like she was about to finish me off, giving me just the opening I needed.

Plus, since I only used Physical Boost for a second, I’ve still got most of my time limit with that Skill intact. And there’s a good chance that I’m gonna need it...all I did here was defeat a single clone, and from what we know, this Elder Vampire can create new clones indefinitely to replace any that get destroyed.

I wish I was strong enough to contribute more meaningfully in this battle, but there’s no point in dwelling over something I can’t change...I’ll just have to play my part and hope it provides enough support to make things easier for our heavy hitters...
