Chapter 395: Chapter 395 - Vampire Attack(Part 21)

"Manifest Soul Weapon: Bowblade," I chanted quietly, before taking aim with my weapon in its bow mode and firing off a rapid arrow of lightning.

The Vampire swiftly turned around, extending out her claws and whipping them across, slicing through my arrow and dissipating it before it could hit her.

"A poor attempt, such an attack is of no consequence to me. Now, show yourself," She remarked as she narrowed her eyes at the alley I was hiding in, a smile on her face.

I swiftly and quietly flew up, charging up an arrow of fire and wind before taking aim and firing it down towards her as I flew up and over the top of the alley, my arrow roaring down towards her rapidly.

As it closed in on her, she took a quick step across to her right, the arrow hitting the ground to her left and charring the dirt black, before I charged up a lava arrow and fired it at her.

She spread out her wings and took off into the air, swerving across to evade the arrow before putting on a burst of speed with a powerful flap of her wings and zipped up towards me.

As she closed in on me, I quickly activated my Switch Skill, swapping places with her before rapidly spinning across as I switched my Soul Weapon to its blade mode, channeling water and lightning into it before whipping it across to fire off a slashing wave of water enhanced by lightning.

She swiftly turned around and veered off to her left, my attack inflicting a deep gash across her right arm, her body seizing up as the lightning flowing through the water zapped her, before she swooped down towards me and drove her claws towards the middle of my forehead as she closed in.

I activated Switch again, swapping places with her before swinging my head back, slamming the back of my head against hers with a thunk, before unleashing a fierce blast of flames from behind me to blow her away.

I then spun around and hovered in the air, switching my Soul Weapon to bow mode again and unleashing a rapid volley of Elemental arrows down towards her as her back slammed onto the ground.

She quickly rolled out of the way and raced across as fast as she could, too fast for my arrows to catch up with, before she flew up again and zipped towards me with immense speed.

I activated Switch as she closed in on me, swapping places with her and turning around before my eyes widened in alarm as I saw her charging towards me, reaching out and grabbing my neck before I could react, eliciting a choked gasp from me as she tightened her grip.

"How predictable, you use that Skill every time you’re in trouble...and now that I know to be on the lookout for it, it’s not much of a threat," She smirked, before I quickly whipped my blade up and across as she began to extend her claws out, slicing through her wrist and severing her hand before her claws could pierce into my throat.

I then unleashed a powerful shockwave of wind, knocking her back as her severed hand fell off my neck, trickles of blood running down the sides of my neck from where her claws had begun to pierce in, before I healed myself with a grimace.

I can’t less this fight drag out...from what I can tell, she doesn’t have the best combat sense, but she’s undeniably stronger and faster than I am. The longer this goes on, the more she’ll get used to the timing and patterns of my attacks...I’m already at a disadvantage, I can’t let my odds get too much worse than they already are.

I then unleashed a barrage of lightning arrows at her as she shot towards me, weaving through the air to evade my projectiles before I opened my mouth and blasted out a scorching wave of flames towards her.

As the flames barreled towards her, she zipped up higher into the air before diving down towards me as she flew over my wave of flames, extending out her claws as she closed in on me.

I activated Switch once again as she began to drive her claws down, before quickly turning around while simultaneously flying up higher, letting out a sharp, agonized gasp of pain as her claws plunged into the left side of my stomach, just below my ribcage.

"I-I...I...," I uttered shakily as blood poured out of my mouth, before meeting her gaze and stating, "I win."

"Yes...so you do," She replied, as her gaze trailed down to her body, my Soul Weapon pierced through the middle of her torso, right before I unleashed an intense burst of flames from the blade, shattering her core, before she met my gaze and added, "I see, you let yourself get hit to create an opening to strike my core...impressive. And you shifted your body up while turning around, ensuring that I would miss your heart."

"That’s right...it was a risky move, but I didn’t have any better ideas. And, more importantly...it worked," I remarked, as she burst into a mass of blood, which rained down and splattered across the ground.

I winced in pain as the deep wound through my stomach throbbed excruciatingly, before gritting my teeth and healing myself, the wound steadily closing up...damn it, it took everything I had just to take down one clone of an Elder Vampire.

That move wouldn’t have worked on the original, or any of the other Elder Vampires...this only worked because the clone’s core is bigger, weaker and a lot less mobile than the original’s.

Still, as much as I hate to admit it, that shouldn’t have been as easy as it was...despite the risk I took with that last move, I’m still lucky to walk away from this fight without any more serious injuries. Why didn’t she use any blood attacks?

Based on the information the Demons and Dragon Kings shared with us, the clones created by the Elder Vampire Caera’s Blood Clones ability are capable of using blood attacks. But this one didn’t...she only used close-range physical attacks.

Why would she refrain from using long-range attacks, attacks that would’ve made defeating her a lot much more difficult? Hm...whatever the reason, it just might be the secret to defeating her...
