Chapter 398: Chapter 398 - Vampire Attack(Part 24)

"Hm? Oh, my, a Werewolf...I haven’t seen one of your kind in quite a long time. Like us, you also gain access to your full power under the light of the full moon. But of course, you’re a much weaker species," The Elder Vampire clone greeted me with a smile.

"Hah, how cocky! Let’s see if you can still say that after I’m done with you!" I responded with a grin, as I slammed my right fist against my left palm and cracked my neck, transforming into my full beastman form.

Fur sprouted across my entire body as my mouth and nose extended forward into a snout, before I threw back my head and let out a howl.

"This shouldn’t take too long," She remarked as she shot towards me, continuing to smile.

"Initiate Skill: Smokescreen," I chanted, a cloud of dark smoke erupting around me.

As she came to a quick halt outside the smoke cloud, I activated my Teleportation Skill, teleporting behind her and whipping my right foot towards the back of her neck.

She swiftly ducked down as my foot closed in on her, clipping the top of her head before she spun around and drove her claws towards my stomach.

I quickly lowered my right arm defensively, grimacing as her claws pierced into my forearm, before I grabbed her wrist with my left hand and gave it a sharp twist, a loud crunch echoing out as I broke the bones in her wrist.

She then wrenched free of my grasp and slammed her foot onto my stomach, kicking me away and sending me skidding across the ground before she rapidly shot towards me as her broken wrist healed up.

I whipped my claws across to fire off a slashing shockwave towards her, which she easily evaded by veering across, before I teleported away as my injuries steadily healed up.

I can’t let her land any direct hits...my regeneration is a lot slower than hers, and less effective, it isn’t strong enough to heal severe injuries.

I just need one good hit to destroy this clone, but that goes both ways...if she lands one good hit on me, I’m probably finished. So I can’t be too reckless.

I then opened my jaws and fired out a deafening howl as she came charging towards me, trickles of blood running out of her ears as my howl hit her, a dazed look appearing on her face before I swiftly teleported in front of her and drove my fist towards the middle of her torso with all the strength I could muster.

She quickly tilted her body across, my fist grazing her stomach before she swung her fist out towards me, the back of her fist slamming onto my snout and sending me flying back, knocking out a couple of my fangs as blood poured out of my nostrils, her strike have broken my nose badly.

My back collided against the side of a nearby building with a jarring impact, rattling my bones as I gritted my teeth to avoid losing my bearings, managing to maintain my balance before lifting my gaze as she came charging in towards me.

I tried to get out of the way, but she was too fast, driving her claws in towards the left side of my chest as she closed in. I managed to turn my body across right in the nick of time, her claws plunging into the right side of my chest, breaking through my ribcage and eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from me.

"It’s over, I-...," She began with a smile, before trailing off as I snapped my jaws around the middle of her arm, holding it in place before she could pull it out of my chest.

She then raised her right arm and slashed at my head with her claws, before I quickly raised my left hand up, her claws piercing through my palm and bursting out the back of my hand.

I swiftly slid my hand forward along her claws, before clamping my hand around hers, digging my claws in as I tightened my grip...I’ve restrained both her arms, and with how close she’s standing to me, she doesn’t have enough room to generate much power into her kicks.

"Initiate Skill: Double Impact," I chanted, my right fist glowing as I charged the Skill into it, before clenching my fist tightly and driving it towards the middle of her torso as she struggled to try and break free of my grasp.

No matter what, I’m not letting go!

My fist slammed onto the middle of her body, before my Skill triggered and the impact of my hit struck her again, a sharp gasp echoing out, before I drew back my fist and charged it with Double Impact again.

I mustered all the strength I could, before unleashing a relentless flurry of strikes against the same spot around the middle of her torso, repeatedly charging up my Double Impact Skill as I struck her ceaselessly.

Suddenly, as I landed another hit, she suddenly exploded into a mass of blood, her core sufficiently damaged.

I collapsed onto my knees with a strained sigh, feeling like all my strength was leaving my body. I then leaned against the side of the building behind me with a grimace, focusing my regeneration onto the deep wound in the right side of my chest.

I don’t think I can fully heal this injury, but I should be able to stem the bleeding and close it up enough that it won’t be fatal.

Man, that was a tough fight...and to think, she’d have been three times more powerful with the light of a full moon.

The full moon only doubles my strength, so while I would be twice as strong as I am right now, I would’ve been at much more of a disadvantage since her power would have been tripled.

Not to mention, this clone’s core is much easier to destroy than the original’s would be, or any of the other Elder Vampires, for that matter. I’ll just have to hope that the others who are currently fighting them are managing to hold their own, at the very least...
