Chapter 399: Chapter 399 - Vampire Attack(Part 25)

"Initiate Skill: Shockwave!" I exclaimed as the Elder Vampire clone closed in on me, triggering a powerful shockwave around myself and knocking her back.

I grimaced as she canceled out the momentum by sharply spreading out her wings, before zipping up into the air and swooping down towards me with immense speed.

I quickly sprang back as she closed in and whipped her claws down towards me, grimacing as the tips of her claws cut into my shoulder and sliced down the right side of my chest, inflicting a shallow, vertical cut down my skin, drawing out trickles of blood.

I unleashed my Shockwave Skill again and backed away, getting some distance before taking a deep breath and letting out a slow exhale, composing myself.

"My, you appear to have some rather sharp instincts. Of the Elder Vampires, I have the least prowess in battle, I am really not much of a fighter...so your refined senses and instincts are quite enviable," She remarked with an unsettling smile.

"Uh...thanks? I think?" I responded in bemusement.

"Oh, you’re welcome...however, you lack power. You may be able to evade my attacks, but your own attacks are too weak...it’ll only be a matter of time before you wear yourself out, while I have no such concern. You ought to surrender while you have the chance. While you’re of no use to our livestock farms as only human blood serves as sustenance to us, we could take you in as a pet or something like that. You would be treated quite well," She replied, continuing to smile at me.

"No thanks, I’m good." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"I see...that’s too bad."

She then shot towards me, veering up into the air as I unleashed another shockwave as she closed in on me, before rapidly zipping down towards me and slashing at my face with her claws.

I quickly sprang back, the tip of one of her claws grazing the bridge of my nose, before I backed away as fast as I could.

She immediately chased after me, closing in and grabbing my arm before I could trigger another shockwave, before she pulled me off my feet with a sharp tug and flung me away with immense force.

I got sent hurtling back through the air as she shot towards me, before I unleashed another shockwave as I closed in on a nearby building, the force of the wave canceling out the momentum and bringing me to a halt, before my eyes widened in alarm as she closed in on me again and drove her claws straight towards the middle of face.

I quickly tilted my head across, her claws missing my right eye by a whisker before slicing through my right ear, blood streaming out before I fired off another shockwave to blow her away.

She’s so fast, I don’t have enough time to properly charge up my Skill...and even if I did, it’s unlikely that it’d be strong enough to damage her core, even at full force.

Like she herself said, she isn’t all that skilled of a fighter, that’s the only reason why I’m not already dead...but she is still significantly stronger and faster than I am, which more than makes up for the disparity in skill.

Alright, then...I’ve been holding back on my other two Skills, waiting for an opening to use them, but at this rate, she’ll kill me before I get the chance to use them. I’ll have to use one of them now, or this won’t end well for me...

"Initiate Skill: Speed Boost x10!" I exclaimed, before I shot towards her, catching her slightly off-guard.

So far, she’s been on the offensive while I’ve just been defending and reacting...time to take a more proactive approach.

I leapt forward as I closed in on her, before swiping my claws at her face, grazing her skin as she tilted her head across, inflicting three scratches across her face and drawing out trickles of blood.

I then swiftly ducked down as she slashed at my neck with her claws, severing a few strands of my hair as I narrowly evaded her attack, before getting low, planting my palms firmly against the ground and driving my feet up towards her, slamming them onto the middle of her torso and sending her stumbling back.

I quickly got back up and got a bit of distance away, as she rubbed the spot I’d slammed my feet onto...

"Hm...I was expecting more of an impact, but that didn’t have much force to it. You were hiding your full speed, waiting till I was accustomed to your previous level of speed before going all-out...but even with that speed boost, your physical strength leaves much to be desired. Such weak strikes will not be enough to damage my core," She informed me, before spreading out her wings and zipping towards me rapidly.

"Yeah, I know...I don’t have enough brute strength to break your core with one hit. In which case...I’ll need to hit you with multiple, simultaneous impacts," I surmised, smirking as she came to an abrupt halt with a sharp, startled wheeze, keeling over slightly.

My third Skill, Delayed Impact...when I kicked her earlier, I activated the Skill onto my left foot. That’s why the impact was weaker than she expected, only my right foot made an immediate impact.

As she came to a momentary halt, I shot towards her as fast as I could, before unleashing a rapid flurry of strikes with my fists against the middle of her torso, targeting the same spot before quickly springing back as she whipped her claws at my head.

I grimaced as her claws sliced through the bridge of my nose, blood streaming out and pouring down my nostrils, making it hard to breathe.

"I didn’t feel a single one of those hits, don’t tell me...," She remarked, before her eyes widened in realization, while that smile remained fixed on her face.

Looks like she’s figured out how my Skill works...not that that’ll do her any good. I managed to land about a dozen strikes before backing off, and now, I’ll trigger the impacts of all of them at the same time.

"Initiate Skill: Delayed Impact," I chanted and snapped my fingers as she began to charge in towards me, before a violent shudder erupted across her body as the stacked impacts burst out across the middle of her torso, a loud crunch ringing out from inside her body.

Sounds like that did it, I got her core.

"Well...this is rather unfortunate turn of events," She smiled, before her body lost its shape and collapsed into a mass of blood, hitting the ground with a splat...
