Rejected by the Campus Belle, I Find My True Love
Chapter 581 - 579: Happy Snowball Fight Time
Immediately, Lin Xi sprang into action. Gathering the scattered snow, she quickly piled it into a small mountain of ammunition, ready to launch her counterattack.
However, the children were already lying in wait. They didn’t even wait for Lin Xi to attack before unleashing a fierce barrage of their own. Caught unprepared, Lin Xi was once again utterly routed, pelted mercilessly from all sides.
"Where did Xue Yang run off to?" Lin Xi muttered under her breath, annoyed. They’d agreed to fight together, but he had bailed on her, leaving her to fend for herself.
Just then, a child in front of Lin Xi was about to hurl a snowball at her when another one, seemingly from out of nowhere, struck his arm, causing the snowball in his hand to drop.
"Who was that?" he shouted. "Who knocked the snowball out of my hand?" The other children looked at each other, completely baffled.
"Zihan, maybe it was an accident," one of them said. "Let’s keep going."
But just as Zihan scooped up a new snowball and prepared to throw it at Lin Xi, the mysterious projectile struck his arm again, and the snowball fell to the ground once more. The other children all saw it happen this time, and the scene erupted with excitement.
"There’s a traitor!" one astute child shouted, having pieced it together. "Everyone, on my command! Find the traitor first!"
At his command, the children all turned their attention away from Lin Xi and began searching for the mysterious "traitor." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

Another snowball disintegrated as a child was hit.
"The traitor is behind that tree! Everyone, charge!" one child commanded decisively, pointing them toward the tree. However, when they rushed over, they found no one there.
"Guo Biao, you’re wrong! The traitor’s over here!" Zihan yelled from the other side. The children swarmed in that direction, but again, they came up empty-handed.
Lin Xi stood watching them run around like headless chickens, a smug smile curling her lips. She spoke teasingly, "Hmph. A moment ago, you were all questioning my boyfriend’s courage. Now look at you. Scared, aren’t you?"
The children finally understood. They all pointed at Lin Xi and laughed, "So the ’traitor’ is your boyfriend!"
Lin Xi shook her head and said seriously, "You’re wrong. My boyfriend isn’t a ’traitor.’ He’s a true hero; he just doesn’t like to show off."
"Then let’s just grab this lady! I bet he won’t stay hidden then," someone suggested mischievously.
However, Guo Biao immediately waved his hand in refusal. "We’re men of honor! We don’t take girls hostage. Everyone, listen to me! Spread out and keep looking for the ’traitor’!"
Hidden in the shadows, Xue Yang heard Guo Biao’s words, and a flicker of admiration appeared in his eyes. He murmured to himself, "To show such leadership and sense of justice at such a young age... This kid is destined for great things."
Lin Xi also looked at Guo Biao with new appreciation. She never expected that a spontaneous desire for a snowball fight would lead her to meet such an outstanding and lovable group of kids. At that moment, she felt an incredible warmth and satisfaction.
All the children were immersed in the joyous game of finding the "traitor," their laughter echoing through the night. Meanwhile, Xue Yang, armed with a snowball gun, skillfully used the surrounding lights and shadows to weave through the nearby corners. He chose hiding spots that were safe for the children to approach but not so easy that they would find him immediately. The children searched with great determination, as if they wouldn’t rest until their target was found.
Just as everyone was getting into the spirit of the game, a crisp, pleasant female voice broke the tranquility of the night. "Hey, you two adults! Aren’t you ashamed of yourselves?"
Si Wen had suddenly appeared under a large tree, her hands on her hips as she righteously called out Lin Xi and Xue Yang. Her appearance made all the children turn their heads. Seeing another beautiful woman, they exclaimed excitedly, "Another pretty lady has arrived!"
"Hey, pretty lady, want to join our team?"
"Yeah, come play with us! We’re looking for the ’traitor’!"
Faced with their innocent invitations, Si Wen cleared her throat and gave Lin Xi a smiling nod. She approached the children and said softly, "Alright, I’ll join you. Let’s find that ’bad guy’ together."
Her participation made the game even more fun and chaotic. The "traitor’s" tracks seemed to be everywhere. The children’s voices rose and fell across the residential complex, echoing nonstop.
"The ’traitor’ is here!"
"No, he must be over there!"
"Hey, someone got ’shot’ over here too!"
Yet, despite searching high and low, they could never pinpoint Xue Yang’s exact location.
The night grew deeper, but the children’s enthusiasm didn’t wane in the slightest. No one wanted to leave; they just wanted to keep playing forever. However, at that very moment, Zihan’s mother’s voice cut through the joyful atmosphere.
"Zihan! Look at the time! Aren’t you coming home to bed?" Her call rang out with particular clarity in the night air.
Hidden in the shadows, Xue Yang heard the call and quickly made his move. He pretended to lose his footing, letting a corner of his jacket become visible from behind a flowerbed. That tiny movement was instantly caught by a sharp-eyed child.
"Look! The ’traitor’ is over there!"
With that excited cry, all the children zeroed in on their target, swarming the flowerbed. They surrounded Xue Yang and gleefully pelted him with snowballs. Xue Yang was not to be outdone. Armed with his snowball gun, he deftly dodged their assault while returning fire. A fierce final battle unfolded under the night sky as snowballs flew through the air amidst the children’s ceaseless laughter.
Finally, under the kids’ relentless siege, Xue Yang’s snowball gun was knocked to the ground. The children cheered, celebrating their victory. The snowball fight ended with a win for the children. Filled with joy and satisfaction, they left the scene one by one.
After the children had gone, the trio collapsed onto the snow-covered ground, letting the soft flakes drift down on them.
Si Wen turned her head to look at Xue Yang and Lin Xi beside her, still breathing heavily. "You two really know how to have fun," she panted. "But I have to admit, that was amazing. This is the most fun I’ve ever had."
Lin Xi turned, her gaze meeting Si Wen’s. "I agree," she said. "Last year’s snowball fight wasn’t nearly as fun as this one."
Si Wen was shocked. "You had a snowball fight last year, too?"
Lin Xi nodded. "Yeah. But I was at my rental place back then, and it didn’t have nearly as much space, so we couldn’t go all out like this."
