Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 1799 - 1683: Survived
The sound of the gun chamber.
Song Yun instinctively closed his eyes.
In his mind was an unstoppable regret. Thinking of myself, Song Yun, with a lifetime of fame, even Song Kunlun fell at my hands, and now, I am actually about to die at the hands of a minor character whose name I don’t even know.
This life, it really has its ups and downs.
No wonder people like to say, a ship capsizing in a ditch, this really is a ship capsizing in a ditch.
Qingluan is coming to save me, it’ll take a few more moments to break through the door, but the gun has already been fired.
Song Yun’s hardening has long been unusable; the bullet can easily pierce through my body.
However, after the gunshots, the imagined pain did not appear.
The original wound on my body made Song Yun’s brow furrow occasionally.
Song Yun opened his eyes.
He saw a scene that surprised him.
It was Song Kunlun’s adopted son, clutching his chest, turning around to face a few bodyguards behind him, raising his hand tremblingly, wanting to say something, but he couldn’t utter a word and fell to the ground.
The phone rolled far away along with him, ending up at Song Yun’s feet. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Song Kunlun’s adopted son had died.
And the person standing behind Song Kunlun’s adopted son was holding a gun, looking coldly.
This person was the bodyguard who watched the elevator earlier.
Song Yun couldn’t figure out why this person fired the gun.
Could it be that he’s a mole sent by my side? Is he actually in cahoots with me?
Song Yun watched the person with suspicion.
"We won’t be treated like people, yet you expect us to continue risking our lives for you?"
The man holding the gun with one hand, looking coldly at the lifeless corpse of Song Kunlun’s adopted son on the ground, spat and said, "I may not be as rich or powerful as you, nor can I beat you, but I can still take you down. Damn it, brothers, let’s get out of here."
"Yeah, I’ve been fed up with this bastard for a long time, always showing off," someone beside him said. "Poor Xiao Li, sigh."
"No problem, we’ll take care of Xiao Li’s family; we’re all in this together. This time, these bastards are finished, and we’ll have to lay low for a while," the shooter said as he prepared to leave.
Song Yun felt somewhat overlooked as the protagonist, so he quickly spoke up, "Heroes, hold on."
"What?"
The man who took down Song Kunlun’s adopted son turned back, looking coldly at Song Yun, and asked, "Want to catch us?"
Song Yun really wanted to say, handsome don’t be a fool, you guys helped me take down Song Kunlun’s adopted son, why would I catch you, and I can’t catch you either.
But, of course, Song Yun wouldn’t say that. Enduring the pain in his body, he said, "Since you took down Song Kunlun’s adopted son, his subordinates won’t let you off. How about this, let’s say I killed Song Kunlun’s adopted son. You go upstairs and find a place to hide. Later, when my people come in and take me, I’ll announce this, so you won’t be in trouble. Then, after a few days, I’ll arrange for someone to pick you up. You seem extraordinary, the way you walk like dragons and tigers, with glowing faces, surely you’re skilled masters, why not join me?"
"Uh."
The shooter looked at Song Yun in surprise and said, "You’re planning to take us in?"
"No, no, no, I’m planning to be friends, and together we’ll make money," Song Yun said.
After hesitating for a moment, the shooter said, "I know you, you’re Song Yun. Since you put it that way, we’ve got nowhere to go anyway. So be it, we’ll run first. When your people come, hurry and leave. Hope you can survive."
"Yes, yes."
Song Yun looked at the man gratefully and said, "For saving my life, I, Song Yun, will never forget."
"We’re just avenging Xiao Li," the man said.
"May I ask for a hero’s noble name?"
"My surname is Hong, called Hong Lingjin."
"Good, hero, may I ask for a weapon for self-defense?" Song Yun said as he looked at this man named Hong Lingjin.
The man directly tossed the gun in his hand over and said, "We’ll meet again someday."
With that, Hong Lingjin led a few bodyguards and rushed up the stairs.
Song Yun reached out and grabbed the weapon in his hand.
The reason for ingratiating himself with these people was actually for this weapon.
Of course, Song Yun had other plans as well. These people saved him after all and were considered his benefactors; they seemed to be righteous sorts. Having a few more of them under him had its advantages.
As for this weapon...
At this moment, Song Yun really had no fighting ability. If those who came in later weren’t Qingluan, having something in hand could at least serve as self-defense.
Song Yun dared not ask them to stay and protect him. When Qingluan took him away, these people wouldn’t be able to leave.
Boom.
A loud noise sounded as the door was forcibly opened from the outside.
The entire iron door seemed weightless, flying forward.
A graceful figure appeared at the doorway.
Qingluan.
Qingluan was holding a long sword in her hand, the blade drenched in blood, and her camo outfit was smeared with quite a bit of it. It seemed she ended quite a few scumbags on her way here.
Qingluan rushed towards Song Yun as soon as she opened the door.
Looking at Song Yun holding a weapon on the ground, Qingluan said, "I’m late."
"No problem, just on time."
Song Yun smiled and said, "Qingluan, are you hurt?"
"No."
Qingluan said as she squatted down to grab Song Yun, "I’ll carry you out."
"Is there anyone outside?" Song Yun asked.
"Either lying on the ground or ran away."
Qingluan said flatly.
Song Yun was shocked looking at Qingluan, but he didn’t speak.
Qingluan grabbed Song Yun and carried him on her back.
Song Yun grabbed Song Kunlun’s adopted son’s phone from the ground and put it in his pocket.
Qingluan carried the now crippled Song Yun, walking out the door.
Outside the door.
Song Yun saw a shocking scene.
People lying all over the ground
At least a hundred people, along with various weapons scattered around.
Of course, the defense force of this manor must be more than this, but just like I experienced that time in Japan, many people fled seeing Qingluan’s superhuman performance.
Humans, after all, are humans.
Seeing a non-human presence, especially when their boss loses contact, preserving oneself becomes the priority.
"Oh, and later make sure to have them blow this up, especially the basement," Song Yun said. "The basement has cyanide, tell them to be careful. Use our own people, don’t use the operations team; not a single thing in the basement should remain."
"I understand."
Qingluan nodded.
At that moment, Song Yun’s pocket vibrated—the phone of Song Kunlun’s adopted son. Song Yun took out the phone to see a text message from Xia Tian: "Bastard, if you want to see my photo, you better make sure you survive first!"
