Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 1800 - 1684: Just Like You
Waking up once again, Song Yun saw only the slightly dim light.
With the lights on, it must be evening.
Song Yun raised his hand to cover his eyes, feeling as if he’d been unconscious for a long time; his eyes could hardly adjust to the light, even a tiny bit.
Dazzling.
Song Yun tried to move his body a little.
But he found that his body couldn’t move at all.
His entire body was wrapped in bandages, indeed all over, even his Little Song Yun was wrapped.
This was absolutely not a joke.
In the battle against Song Kunlun, the injuries Song Yun’s body suffered were tremendous, and with the two of them fighting like that, who knew when Little Song Yun might get caught in the crossfire? Even if it wasn’t directly hit, being tugged at would already be painful as hell.
Don’t think every victor looks glamorous; most of the time, even if Song Yun won, he was in a wretched state, far from looking like a heroic figure.
Underneath the bandages seemed to be some herbs. Song Yun didn’t know, he only knew he was too lazy to move, even his fingers.
Just then.
The room door opened.
Someone walked in from outside.
It was Qingluan.
Qingluan, holding a bowl, walked to Song Yun’s side, looking at the now open-eyed Song Yun and asked, "How do you feel?"
"Can’t move."
Song Yun shook his head, saying, "With so many broken bones, I reckon I’m paralyzed now."
"Broken bones are tough to heal," Qingluan nodded, saying, "But with the medicine I brought from my aunt and uncle, and what I brought from Kunlun Mountain, the chance of healing your legs is high. With some rest, you’ll be able to walk again."
"That’s good then."
Song Yun let out a long sigh of relief, saying, "If I ended up paralyzed because of this, I’d never beat Kunpeng."
"What, you still want to fight Kunpeng?" Qingluan asked with some surprise.
"Of course. If I don’t defeat Kunpeng, how could I comfortably get close to you?" Song Yun grinned mischievously, "Qingluan, I already took out Song Kunlun; Kunpeng is no big deal. Once I take down Kunpeng, you’ll be mine."
Qingluan stared at Song Yun blankly. After a long while, a gentle smile like a breeze appeared on her face.
"I’ve always been yours."
"That doesn’t count," Song Yun shook his head, "Kunpeng hurt you. If I can’t even beat the one who hurt you, I’ve no face to claim you."
Perhaps the head shake aggravated a wound, causing Song Yun to wince and suck in a breath of cold air.
"You."
Qingluan shook her head, saying, "Get your health back first, alright?"
"By the way, where are we now?" Song Yun asked.
"In MSK."
"How much time has passed?" Song Yun asked again.
"Two days," Qingluan said, "Things over there are mostly sorted out."
"Oh." Song Yun asked, "Were all the things that needed to be destroyed taken care of?"
"Yes. The people here, as per your instructions, destroyed the entire basement, including all the materials inside. It was all done under my supervision; nothing was left behind," Qingluan replied.
"Oh."
Song Yun nodded, staring straight at the ceiling.
"I remember you saying that the big shot wanted you to bring him those things."
Qingluan smiled and said, "But in the end, you didn’t listen to him."
"A person must choose what to do and what not to do," Song Yun said, "That person and Song Kunlun basically wanted the same things. However, I don’t agree with their methods. Genetic agents, altering human gene structures, all that dwells in a forbidden area. I’m not a fanatic, but for such an obvious violation of nature, I won’t stop it, but I definitely won’t be an accomplice."
"Choose what to do and what not to do," Qingluan nodded, saying, "When you get back, you’ll have to be ready to face their questioning."
"At worst, they’ll get rid of me," Song Yun said nonchalantly, "I’ve done so much already, and then we can take a break and relax."
"By the way."
Qingluan suddenly said, "Xia Tian has been calling over the past two days, of course, to the phone of the guy who threatened you."
"Oh."
Song Yun was momentarily dazed, then recalled the words Xia Tian sent before he fainted. Xia Tian, such a proud woman, wouldn’t possibly be threatened by a nobody. Even if Song Yun had unfortunately died that day, Xia Tian would just mourn for seven days and then prepare to give the murderer a fate worse than death.
"Where’s the phone now?"
"Here."
Qingluan handed the phone to Song Yun, saying, "I answered once and told her you’re fine. She didn’t say much and just hung up."
"Oh."
Song Yun nodded, taking the phone.
"It’s clear, Xia Tian really cares about you."
Qingluan said, "Though Xia Tian didn’t say much, she’s very worried inside; talk to her, I’ll go prepare some medicine, and you get some rest."
With that, Qingluan turned and walked away.
Then, Song Yun called Xia Tian.
The phone rang for quite a while before Xia Tian picked up.
"I gambled right," Xia Tian said after a moment of silence. "I calculated the time, and knowing Qingluan, after learning you were hurt, she wouldn’t just sit there. She’d rush in as quickly as possible. Qingluan is quite formidable now; entering wouldn’t take more than a few minutes, so I took a gamble."
"Yeah, you were lucky," Song Yun grumbled, "If you lost, I’d have died at that bastard’s hand, and you’d be left a widow."
"Hehe, if that happened, I’d avenge you first, then come join you, so you’d be all mine," Xia Tian giggled, "Song Yun, recover soon, I’ve been waiting for you at the Song Family, getting all impatient."
"Pfft, without me watering, how would you sprout? Jeez, why do I feel like I’m turning green up here? No, I gotta recover quickly and sort you out."
"Mr. Song, recover quickly, or else you might be powerless when you get back. I won’t serve you then."
"I really am..." Song Yun said helplessly, "How’s everything at home lately?"
"Everything’s good. Steel Coin has been really lively, always snuggling into my arms. He’ll definitely be just like you in the future, a little rascal through and through."
