Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 1803 - 1687: Busy
"Sigh."
Mr. Song wasn’t as excited as imagined; he merely sighed and said, "That Kunlun kid, after all, was raised under my watch. Now he’s been sent to meet his ancestors by our own people, I truly don’t... know how to put it, though Kunlun deserved what he got. The Song Family, ultimately, can only belong to our Song Family’s main branch. Anyone attempting to seize control will meet the same fate. Now Meiqin’s branch is basically without anyone, sigh."
"Just scatter those people into other branches," Song Ergou said. "After all, it’s not different whose underlings they are, right?"
"That’s true."
For a long period afterward, everyone discussed the matters surrounding Song Kunlun’s death, and the events following his death.
By the time everything was sorted, it was already late at night.
Song Yun returned to his room with Qingluan.
Li Shishi and the other women were resting in their rooms; upon seeing Song Yun’s arrival, they gathered around him.
After thoroughly enjoying their care and physical checkup, Li Shishi held Song Yun and said, "Song Yun, let there be no next time; don’t keep putting yourself in danger. We can’t be without you, even Little Gangbeng can’t be without you."
"Got it."
Song Yun nodded, "I must wrap things up."
"What matters do you have now?" Li Shishi asked in surprise.
"Well, there are many more things to handle. Song Kunlun’s death was just a small task completed. And then there’s the matter with the Hong Sect; once that’s settled, I’ll take you all on vacation," Song Yun said with a smile.
"Are we going to our island?" Li Yueyue asked, blinking her big eyes.
"We’ll see. By the way, how’s about the island?"
"It’s almost taken care of."
Xia Tian said from nearby, "The money has been wired, the contract is being executed, and next steps involve constructing basic infrastructure on the island. Wang Qiang mentioned earlier that he could help."
"Oh."
Song Yun nodded and said, "I’ll look for him tomorrow."
"Oh, Song Yun, the exam results are out. Perhaps you should ask Xiao Hua which school she applied to?" Li Shishi prompted from the side.
The college entrance exam results are out.
Hearing this news, Song Yun realized Xiao Hua’s results would be out soon.
Thinking of Xiao Hua, Song Yun’s head hurt a bit.
Of course, Song Yun’s heart also ached.
Even though she’s merely his adopted sister, if Xiao Hua truly finds a boyfriend, Song Yun would be upset.
This is the selfish psychology of men; while unable to offer much, one hopes nothing happens to the other.
Song Yun may be impressive, but he’s still just a man.
Early the next morning, Song Yun received a call from Xiao Hua.
"Brother, I got accepted."
Xiao Hua announced.
"Congratulations then."
Song Yun was having breakfast with the women when he got Xiao Hua’s call; delighted, he asked, "Where did you get accepted?"
"Not telling you."
Xiao Hua chuckled, "I’ll tell you when you return."
"Playing coy with me, alright. Judging by your delight, you must have gotten into the school you wanted. Congratulations from here. By the way, when is the next visit to Beijing? Little Gangbeng is so much fun right now," Song Yun mentioned with a smile.
"Let’s see when there’s a chance."
Xiao Hua replied, "Brother, can I ask a favor of you?"
"What do you need? Just say it," Song Yun said.
"I want... I want to go to Europe and, during this summer vacation, study management courses a bit more. Even though I manage some things now, I feel there’s plenty of room for improvement..." Xiao Hua explained.
"No problem."
Song Yun replied with a smile, "I’ll ask someone to handle the passport. As for money, you can get it from Zhao Yan; it’ll be done in three days."
"No need for the money," Xiao Hua said. "I already have my earnings. It’s the salary you gave me. I handed over most to mom and kept some; over these months, I’ve saved over twenty thousand, enough for a stay over there."
"Well... alright. I’ll have Zhao Yan give you a card so that if you run out while outside, you can use it at any time. Just in case, you know?" Song Yun asked.
"I know." Xiao Hua smiled sweetly, "Xiao Hua knows brother cherishes her most."
"Of course."
After the call, Song Yun’s mind was filled with Xiao Hua’s gentle ’brother’ calls. It made him feel warm all of a sudden.
Sometimes, whether something happens or not, what’s the difference? As long as she, or he, makes you feel warm, that’s enough.
Shortly after Song Yun finished the call, a big shot summoned him to the office.
Summoned, naturally, a scolding was inevitable.
Song Yun was practically drenched in scorn.
Once the big shot had vented, Song Yun was told to scram.
Song Yun happily obliged.
After leaving that big shot, Song Yun called Wang Qiang right away.
Calling Wang Qiang was naturally to discuss the island’s construction issue.
"I can’t do the island construction myself, but I have friends who can. I’ll provide the manpower, he the ships, aiming to complete it within a month," Wang Qiang said.
"That’s good."
Song Yun replied, "I’m planning to turn that into a private leisure getaway. You get what I mean?"
"I absolutely do; the location remains confidential. Moreover, Song Yun, it’s geologically hard to reach the place without charts," Wang Qiang said.
"That’s fine then. I’ll leave it to you to handle, including the finances—let’s not shortchange you since you’re a businessman," Song Yun noted. "Making money is essential; otherwise, business loses meaning."
"I get it, haha, Song Yun, I’ll give you a fair price then. This project will cost billions though. Quite the big project, but being yours, I won’t overcharge," Wang Qiang said.
"If you overcharge on a billion-dollar project, that’d be foolish of you," Song Yun laughed.
Having reached an initial agreement on the island’s development with Wang Qiang, Song Yun hurried home.
Why head home?
Not to work nor to do anything else, but to spend time with his son.
This became a newfound joy for Song Yun after returning.
Little Gangbeng is somewhat recognizing people now; due to rapid development, although requiring being held, he’s quite fidgety.
