Return of the King, Dominating the City
Chapter 1804 - 1688: Yu Xue Is in Trouble
What Song Yun liked most was teasing Little Gangbeng.
For a long period afterwards,
Song Yun didn’t do anything.
Every day, he either accompanied Little Gangbeng or took his lady out for fun, and whenever he encountered something displeasing, he played the role of pretending to be a pig to eat the tiger.
Life was very leisurely.
Song Yun did not deliberately practice his martial arts; he just portrayed himself perfectly as one with no desires, thus staying strong.
It was as if there was nothing in the world that could pique his interest.
The days passed by, one after another.
But the position Song Yun was in did not allow for a peaceful life. Whether it was enemies or unexpected visitors, they always cast a stone into his calm days, causing ripples.
On this day, Song Yun was at the amusement park outside, playing with Little Gangbeng when the phone suddenly rang.
He answered, and Ergou’s voice came through: "Where are you now?"
"Playing outside with your grandson; what’s up?"
"Yuxue is in trouble; she’s undergoing treatment now. Tell me where you are, and I’ll send someone to pick you up."
"Dongyang Amusement Park." Song Yun hung up the phone, his hands involuntarily clenched into fists; Song Yuxue, the little girl, had been taken out not long ago by Aunt Song Qingyan, supposedly to learn something, accompanied by a master like Azure Dragon. Song Yun had been reassured but his father’s call today left him somewhat bewildered.
That was his sister, his most dear and beloved sister, who he had protected in every possible way while in Sunan. Who the hell dared to touch my sister!
The car to pick up Song Yun arrived quickly.
He sat in the car with the gangbeng and soon reached the Red Wall Military Hospital, which although looked a bit outdated, was the most advanced medical institution.
After getting out of the car, Song Yun found that Li Shishi and others were already there. He handed Little Gangbeng to Li Shishi for care and hurried straight to the fifth-floor ICU.
Outside the door, he saw his parents standing at the entrance, even Mr. Song was sitting on a bench, sighing uncontrollably.
"How is Yuxue!" Song Yun asked hurriedly.
"Song Yun, calm down first," Ye Qingsi touched Song Yun’s head helplessly and said, "The doctor is checking inside, but the situation doesn’t look good."
"Where’s my aunt? Where’s Azure Dragon? Useless! No wonder my aunt didn’t like him!" Song Yun couldn’t control the anger in his heart, his eyes showing a wolf-like glare.
"The accident happened on an archipelago, and we haven’t found your aunt and Azure Dragon yet. This incident seems to have been long premeditated by the opponent. Calm down first, don’t get excited," Ergou stepped forward to stabilize Song Yun, then whispered, "Azure Dragon is Xia Tian’s father; fortunately, I sent Xia Tian back, or else your words would hurt Xia Tian’s feelings! Stop being so loud all the time."
At this moment, a doctor came out; he was an elderly man in his seventies or eighties who wiped his glasses with a cloth, sighed, and said, "The little girl’s situation is very bad; her internal organs are almost completely shattered, devoid of vitality, only holding on to the last breath. You should go see her."
Hearing Song Yuxue only had the last breath left, Song Yun’s expression was extremely heavy as he walked straight towards the ward.
"Yuxue, brother is here to see you," Song Yun walked to the bedside. Although he appeared to be quite tough outside, tears rolled down his face at this moment.
However, Song Yuxue couldn’t hear his words, showing no reaction.
Song Yun looked towards the bed only to see Yuxue’s face was ashen, her eyes tightly closed, her face was full of bruises, and her arms exposed outside the quilt were covered with wounds of various sizes.
Perhaps the doctor believed she was beyond saving; her body only had a heartbeat monitor, with no other medical equipment or IV.
The heart rate monitor showed Song Yuxue’s heartbeats were extremely chaotic at the moment, irregular.
The doctor was right; Song Yuxue’s current condition was almost equivalent to being dead.
Yet Song Yun was unwilling to give in. He took out a medicine bottle from his pocket; these pills were sent by a weird fellow from the sect, reputed to rapidly restore one’s wounds.
Under the gaze of Ergou and others, Song Yun fed the pills to Song Yuxue, then pulled back the quilt and slipped his hand into Yuxue’s clothes, transferring True Qi to help unlock the medicine’s effects.
But unexpectedly, Song Yuxue’s meridians were blocked, her organs failing; although the medicine’s effects were unlocked, they couldn’t reach her body.
Still, fortunately, the pill’s potency was quite strong, keeping Yuxue’s breath hanging.
"Song Yun, the breath you’ve kept only lasts for seven days; we only have a week to find a way to save Yuxue," Ergou frowned tightly and said, but his trembling body also made others feel the fire the man was holding inside.
"There will definitely be a way."
Song Yun’s tone was incredibly firm, leaving no room for doubt: "I’ve already sent Black Flood Dragon and the others to investigate. No matter who it is, daring to hurt my family will pay the price in blood."
Song Yun opened his phone and dialed the old man, who was experienced and knowledgeable, within the sect, sure to have a way.
"In your situation, Yuxue can only survive a week at most," the old man listened and slowly said.
"I know, isn’t there any way?"
"There is a way, but..." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"No matter what, as long as there’s a way, I must save my sister!"
"Ah, lad, have you heard of the Nine-colored Flower?"
"I have; the sect’s library records show it can bring the dead back to life, heal flesh and bones, brighten one’s spirit, revive the dead. But isn’t the Nine-colored Flower a legend? Does it really exist in this world?"
"The Nine-colored Flower does exist."
"Ah! Really? Old man, don’t joke with me; if the Nine-colored Flower really exists, then Yuxue can be saved."
"There is the Nine-colored Flower, but there are too few surviving ones; as far as I know, there are currently three Nine-colored Flowers, held by three different forces."
"No matter which force, even if it costs my life, I will help Yuxue get it."
"You shouldn’t say that. Do you know how strong those three forces are? Even for you, it’s tough to contend with them."
The old man chuckled mockingly, with a tone of solemnity.
After a pause, he continued: "One is held by the Heavenly Mountain Sect in Changbai Mountain, don’t even think about it because their Supreme Elder plans to use it to hold on to his last breath; another Nine-colored Flower is reportedly in Putuo, I guess it’s probably within Putuo Mountain’s inner sect, so don’t go after this one either. Only the last Nine-colored Flower, maybe you can find a way."
The Heavenly Mountain Sect and Putuo Mountain were powerful forces passed down for millennia; while Song Yun was confident in his prowess, he had no connections with them, and asking for the Nine-colored Flower—they probably wouldn’t even meet him.
As for snatching it by force, that’s downright suicidal.
