Chapter 22: Agent Miller

Within fifteen minutes, soldiers cleared the Portal building.

Then,Some soldiers and two police officers guided all the students and teachers out, ensuring everyone was safely cleared from the building

"Alright, seal the school building, no civilians and media are allowed to enter, and patrol again, make sure there won’t be anyone left behind.’’ Said Major Varce, his sharp eyes looking at two soldiers.

"Yes Sir." After giving a formal salute, the soldiers moved with strong discipline and fast steps.

Major Varce is a disciplined man, 30-year-old, 6 feet tall, with a strong, muscular build, short deep-brown hair, and a clean-shaven face.

All that is left is to give the final report. He thought and walked back to the portal building.

Just as he stepped in the building.

One soldier approached him. ""Sir, we have a... total of fifteen student casualties." The soldier felt heartache to say that.

"Leave them for now, when the team comes we’ll send the bodies for autopsy," Then Major asked. "How was the situation?"

"Everything under control, Sir, no movements for now."

Major nodded. "Inform me if you noticed any unknown activities."

Then he walked out of the building.

He saw two new men on the way, in formal black suits accompanied by his two soldiers.

"Major Vance? I’m SAC Miller, FBI." Agent Miller showed him his ID. "My team is taking over the investigation."

The Major frowns, then it disappears immediately, remembering two police officers. He shook his hand." Nice to meet you Agent Miller, The police department informed the FBI."

Agent Miller Smiled. " Something like that."

The Major also smiled and said. " You can investigate whatever you want, but that building is off limits, I don’t have permission to let anyone enter." Pointing to portal building.

"I understand." Agent Miller said. "According to our information there are some witnesses, I would like to meet them."

"Sure, this way." After signaling to his soldiers, Major walked to an office where those two police officers held two teachers behind to take a report.

Just as they opened the door they heard, Senior police officer speaking.

"Please get a medical checkup after that you guys are free to leave, but we will contact you in the future."

"Thank you officers. " After that the Teachers give polite nods to new guys as they walk out from the office, with the Junior police officer.

"Hello, Officer Zical, I’m Agent Miller, FBI. It looks like we are late, so I trouble you for information, let’s give a little rest to witnesses." He said.

"No trouble, it’s my duty, Sir." The officer Zical begins to inform him, while a second guy with Agent Miller begins to note everything .

"According to those two teachers, after the portal appeared, they saw a green creature attacking the students, the student in front– a boy around fifteen killed the creature, with a kick."

"Kick?"

"Yeah, Teachers said some knife was attached to his shoes. Right after the girl grabbed a blade dropped by a dead creature, and killed another creature."

"Is that how average teenagers should react?"

"No," the FBI Agent said. "I don’t think so."

The Zical officer continued. " And then she showed magical ability she can move people without touching them, then she helped her friends— seven girls to kill those creatures so they also gain those abilities," he continued. " Then they left, but other students saw everything. They also wanted to obtain magical abilities, so they stayed, and two teachers were unable to make them leave."

"Why didn’t teachers call for help?" Agent Miller asked.

"They did, they called us and the principal..., we came within twenty minutes, but the principal is missing." Zical said.

"Missing?, I see!" Agent Miller added. "About magical abilities, you think it’s true,"

"Yes," Zical said and a small fire ball appeared in his hand.

"My soldiers also awakened these magical abilities." The Major spoke looking at the fire ball.

Miller’s eyes sparked with curiosity. "Do you capture any of those creatures alive?"

Major knows what he wants but he has to disappoint him . "No."

"Why?! That should be important for...

"I didn’t receive any command to capture them alive." Major said in a cold final voice, reminding him he is not in the place to question him.

"I’m sorry" Agent Miller said politely, expecting his mistake though felt very dissatisfied in his heart but didn’t show it on his face.

Tuning back to Zical. "How many students killed those creatures?"

"At least ten, they said."

Any information about these students.

"Only the names of six students. We didn’t find any recorded school data, as someone erased everything, I suspect it’s the principal, she wasn’t present in the school, her call phone is out of reach."

"Names?"

Jully, Jucica, Gwen, Rime, Rima Mubai."

"Anything else?"

Zical thought a second then said. "One student was pushed by another student and he was injured badly by those creatures. He was sent to the city hospital for treatment."

"Alright, thank you officer for your help. The FBI will handle it from here."

After noting everything, the agent behind Miller closed the note book.

"It’s my pleasure...
