Rise Of The Hoarder
Chapter 447: A Better Specimen
Abaddon watched in disbelief as his arms were torn away by its limbs with blood spurting everywhere.
In vain he tried to speak but couldn’t bring himself to form the words.
In his wildest imagination, he had never thought that Sariel would or could defeat him.
Contrary to what he expected, her face wasn’t defiant rather it was a mix of different emotions that he couldn’t place.
Even as he watched her conflicted face, he could see the limbs she held in her hands slowly dissipate into sand particles.
He knew without being told that the rest of his body would also vanish and he kept his eyes trained on her till no trace of him was left.
The locusts below them all vanished in an instant and the skies were no longer dark again.
As they all vanished, Sariel felt something well up in her chest and a sting in her eyes.
"What is this feeling in my chest?" She wondered aloud, perplexed by the strange emotion running through her that she couldn’t identify.
She raised a hand to her eyes as she felt her lashes grow wet.
She knew the answer theoretically but couldn’t bring herself to admit that they were tears.
She had never experienced them before now and it was with great effort she held them back from pouring.
She couldn’t waste her tears on a lost soul like Abaddon.
Meanwhile some metres away from her, Jeremy struggled to push himself off the ground, his vision blurry from the impact.
Lyra’s presence loomed over him and he could see the power coursing through her making her a formidable force.
Despite the odds, Jeremy could see the cracks in her facade—the strain was evident.
He had seen this before. The Administrator’s power was too much for a human vessel to handle, even for someone as strong as Lyra.
"Lyra... fight it. You don’t have to do this," Jeremy rasped, trying to reach her through the haze of power that surrounded her.
For a moment, her gaze wavered, the glow in her eyes dimming slightly as she hesitated.
But then the power surged again, and she shook her head, a pained expression crossing her face.
"I’m sorry, Jeremy. It’s... too late for me," she whispered about to finish him off.
Jeremy knew what he had to do. With a deep breath, he summoned every ounce of strength left within him.
He couldn’t afford to hold back any longer. The Administrator’s power inside Lyra was consuming her, and the only way to stop it was to end the fight—one way or another.
"Then I’ll free you," Jeremy said with an evil smile, his resolve hardening.
With a burst of energy, Jeremy launched himself at Lyra. His movements were sharp, precise, and relentless.
Lyra countered with all the strength she had left, but Jeremy could see her faltering.
Her attacks grew weaker, her control slipping as the Administrator’s power overwhelmed her.
Finally, Jeremy saw his opening. He struck with a powerful blow, knocking Lyra back. As she staggered, he reached out with his abilities, seizing control of the energy within her.
The Administrator’s essence resisted, but Jeremy’s will was stronger.
With a final, desperate effort, Jeremy absorbed the (G) Essence from Lyra. The power surged into him, overwhelming and all-consuming, but Jeremy held firm.
ARGHHHHH!!!
Lyra’s voice was so loud that the elements picked up on it reacting to her emotions.
A wild gust of wind swirled fiercely threatening to sweep everything in its path away.
With a huge effort, Jeremy stood his ground determined to see it through.
He felt the Administrator’s presence fade as he fully absorbed the essence feeling it rush into his body.
Lyra’s eyes grew dim as she felt her body grow limp gradually.
"Jeremy..." She stuttered loosely as she reached out for him.
She collapsed to the ground, her body finally at peace. Jeremy knelt beside her, his hand resting on her shoulder. "You’re free now," he whispered.
With a heavy thud, she fell backwards as the last thread of her life finally snapped.
"Whew, that was draining," Jeremy said dusting his hands as the strong wind finally came to a halt and normalcy was restored.
He had officially killed the Administrator which meant that he was now a full Administrator himself.
He wanted to be sure before he jumped into conclusions so he accessed his status window.

His eyes widened on seeing the information as power was now within his grasp.
The possibilities before him were endless and all he had to do was click ’Accept’.
But he had no time to revel in his newfound power. There was still work to be done.
Without hesitating, he chose the ’Accept’ tab.
He immediately felt his knees grow weak and give way and he was on the ground before he knew it.
His limbs moved erratically against his volition as he trembled violently and white energy swirled around his body.
After a few minutes, he slowly got to his feet feeling different from how he usually felt.
He held out his hands to get a better look at them and was surprised to see how muscular and perfect they had become.
He couldn’t see his face but by touching it, he knew that it had also changed.
"Time to end the scenario," He said with a wide grin.
