In the end, it didn’t matter since those that had been in the capital came out to face them.

They had been hiding in the capital, but it wasn’t as if they had become weaker.

In fact, they had even been training during the time that they had been surrounded by the forces of Destruction. They had been sharpening their blade since they had no idea when they would be killed.

If that did happen, they wanted to go out in a blaze of glory.

The pressure that the forces of Destruction put on them by holding them hostage in the capital actually made them grow. This pressure had been helpful in forcing them to pull out their potential, so the corruption energy monsters that were left didn’t stand a chance at all.

It was as if they had entered a cocoon and come out as butterflies.

I was honestly surprised by how much they had grown during this time, but pressure was usually the best way to make one grow. Not just humans, but all living beings had to adapt to their environments when they were put under pressure like this.

This was just natural selection.

Since they had all become stronger, I didn’t have any hesitation on leaving the matter of clearing out the corruption energy monsters to them. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

What I cared about now was Dorothy’s condition.

However, it seemed like she had stabilized after she had gone into Rose’s embrace.

It seemed like she was able to suppress whatever power had taken over her and forced her to transform like that. Though it certainly was surprising that she was able to suppress that power.

After all, that power had absorbed the powers of one of the Four Omens.

This wasn’t a normal amount of corruption energy that had been absorbed by Dorothy, so it was strange that she was perfectly fine.

"It seems like her physique is much greater than I thought."

Then I couldn’t help thinking of what War had shouted at her when it was being suppressed by her power.

The connection between Dorothy and the God of Destruction might really be much deeper than I had thought previously.

While I was still thinking of this, I suddenly realized that there was something strange about the surrounding area. It was as if some kind of change suddenly came over this place that gave me a very strange feeling.

When I looked around, I immediately figured out what it was.

At first, it was just, "Why is it so quiet?"

Then when I looked around, I found that everyone that had been fighting had frozen.

It wasn’t just the corruption energy monsters that froze, it was every member of the racial alliance that had also frozen in place.

But from the expressions on their faces, it didn’t seem like they were frozen in place by some kind of external force. After all, there were no signs of struggle coming from any of them.

It was as if there was something that had frozen this surrounding area completely.

As I was trying to figure out what it was, I found that I wasn’t the only one that could move.

"Mom, what’s wrong? Dad, something’s wrong with mom!"

Dorothy was the only other one that was not affected by whatever it was that froze this space.

She seemed worried about Rose, but I said, "She’s fine. They won’t do anything to her."

I was more worried about whoever it was that had frozen this space, or it was better to say that I was worried about what that person was planning to do. After all, this kind of stunt was not something that could be done that easily.

Dorothy still looked worried, but she still trusted me as she fell silent.

After a moment of silence, there was this thing that appeared in front of us.

It was something that came out of the ground and it wasn’t something that was that big. It was this small thing that came out of a black puddle in the ground, which meant that this was something that was made from corruption energy.

After it came out of the ground, it took the form of this small round mass.

If there was one defining feature about this thing, it was the eye that was right in the center of it.

This eye looked right at me, as if it was trying to take some kind of picture of me.

I didn’t know what it was that had formed this eye, but I felt that it wasn’t good.

This thing felt too dangerous to leave alone after all...

But in the end, I wasn’t able to do anything.

"It seems like you’ve grown far more than I’ve expected."

This was a strange voice since it didn’t actually sound like it was coming from the space around us. It felt like this voice was coming from right inside of my head, as if it was being sent into it directly.

There were only so many things in this world that could do something like this.

One of those things was a direct message from a god.

If it was a message that came from a corruption energy creature like this, then it should be a message from the God of Destruction.

It was just that I couldn’t figure out what the God of Destruction wanted to do with this.

Before I could ask anything, the God of Destruction had already turned to look at Dorothy.

When it did, it suddenly said, "You’ve developed much slower than I thought."

I couldn’t help deeply knitting my brows when I heard this.

It was just that I really didn’t get to ask anything as the corruption energy eyeball suddenly seemed to collapse.

It seemed like the God of Destruction was done with whatever it was doing here and left without a single word.

Once that corruption energy eyeball collapsed, it seemed like whatever force had frozen this area disappeared and everything returned to normal.

Only I couldn’t get what the God of Destruction said out of my thoughts...
