We had all been so focused on helping Dorothy that we missed these movements until it was too late.

But then again, we didn’t think that anyone would be crazy enough to do something like this.

"Watch out!" Rose was the one that reacted first when she saw that one person raising their weapon while charging at Dorothy.

Without even hesitating, she actually ran right in front of that person that was trying to assassinate Dorothy.

That person was completely caught off guard by Rose’s actions, but it didn’t seem like they were going to stop as they were determined to end this. Or that was the case until they felt the pressure that came from Rose.

She was looking at them with a gaze that was filled with murderous intent.

This was the murderous intent that a mother felt when someone threatened their child. This kind of murderous intent was not something that could be scoffed at since mothers really did give everything when it came to protecting their children.

So even a soldier like this couldn’t help being taken aback by the murderous intent that Rose released.

But as they came to a stop, the weapon that they had already raised wasn’t stopped that easily.

It came down right at Rose that was standing in the way.

"Splurt."

There was a streak of red that filled the air as the weapon fell.

Rose didn’t actually dodge out of the way since it would have reached Dorothy if she had dodged out of the way. However, she didn’t actually get hit directly by the weapon since that soldier had tried to move the weapon out of the way before it could hit her.

It wasn’t that the soldier wanted to, it was because there was this pressure that came from behind him that made him do it unintentionally.

This pressure came from the murderous intent that I was throwing at him.

The moment that this streak of red filled the air, there was a change that came from Dorothy as well. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

But I ignored all of this as I had Lupus charge over.

I jumped off Lupus’ back and landed by Rose’s side while Lupus slammed that soldier into the ground with a single paw slap.

That paw slap wasn’t strong enough to kill that soldier, but it certainly wasn’t weak enough that they got off that easily.

"I’m going to kill him later."

I wasn’t someone that would let anyone hurt my wife for any reason.

After landing, I went forward to help Rose heal her wound. Only when I came to her side, she actually stopped me from helping her.

She was holding the arm that had been cut with one hand, but her eyes were turned to look at Dorothy while she was changing.

After seeing Rose hurt like this, it seemed like Dorothy felt the same way as me as she was glaring at the soldier that had been slammed into the ground. While she glared at that soldier, her body started to transform once again.

It was as if she was giving herself to the corruption energy.

"Help me over to her side." Rose said all of a sudden which caught me off guard.

I looked at her as if I was urging her to back down and let me heal her, but she just looked back at me as if she was insisting on this.

The only reason that she hadn’t already done this was because of the corruption energy that was around Dorothy. If she could have pushed forward, she would have done this all on her own.

It wasn’t easy for me to push through this corruption energy either, but since it was Rose that asked me to do this.

Gritting my teeth, I created a small domain around myself and her before pushing towards Dorothy.

The corruption energy that she released slammed against my domain and tried to keep me away, but I was concentrating on this domain so it wasn’t that easily broken. Especially since I had minimalized it to concentrate all of its power in a single small space.

It allowed us to reach where Dorothy was.

Once we were there, Rose went forward to reach out towards Dorothy.

But in the end, she wasn’t able to reach her since that was the limit of my domain.

I wasn’t able to let her reach her since the corruption energy near Dorothy was just too strong.

"Child, we’re here. I’m fine, you have to fight against it."

These words seemed to pull Dorothy back to her senses as she realized who it was that was talking to her.

She looked at the blood that was still on Rose’s arm with a pained look.

"Silly child, if we don’t protect you, who will?" Rose said in a gentle voice.

Tears appeared in Dorothy’s eyes when she heard this, but it seemed like Rose’s words had the effect that she wanted.

The transformation that Dorothy had undergone was disappearing once more as it seemed like she was gaining control of her power once more.

Slowly, everything that changed about her disappeared until she was back to her normal form.

Once she was in her normal form, she went to Rose’s side and carefully looked at the wound on her arm. Only she was still helpless since she wasn’t able to actually heal Rose with her powers.

As such, she looked at me to do something.

I went over and used the divine energy that I had gathered to help patch things up. Only this was just a simple patch job and she still needed to be healed for everything to be alright.

However, it wasn’t as if it was that simple since we were still on the battlefield.

There were still corruption energy monsters that were here, but it didn’t seem like they were as strong as before.

They had lost their leader, which meant that they were running around like headless chicken now.

However, that still made them dangerous.
