Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2202: This really isn’t what I expected
It had been a long time since I came to the capital of the Elven Kingdom, but I couldn’t not come.
After all, it was my child that had been born. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Though when I arrived, I found that I was being treated in a strange way.
Instead of letting me walk through the streets normally, they actually made me hide myself from the rest of the elves. It was almost as if they didn’t want anyone to know that I was here.
Even when I arrived at the palace, I was brought in through a secret passage.
The way that they acted, it really felt like they wanted to keep something hidden.
It didn’t take long for me to find out what it was.
"This really wasn’t what I had expected..."
That was the only thing that I could think when I saw why they were acting this secretive.
It really was a strange sight to see.
When Aisha sitting in the bed saw this look on my face, she said with a smile, "It really is a bit ironic, isn’t it?"
I didn’t know what to say in response to this.
After all, the child that she was holding didn’t have a single feature that showed that it came from her. This was a child that seemed to be completely human when it came to appearance alone.
If we were to check with blood, there should be traces of elf bloodline in this child since its mother was the purest blood high elf.
Only it really didn’t seem like it based on appearance alone.
"How is this possible?" I couldn’t help asking this before realizing that I had made a mistake. There was an awkward look that appeared on my face as I looked at Aisha while realizing this.
"It’s fine, I’m wondering the same thing." She said as if she wasn’t bothered by this at all.
However, the others that were in the room with us didn’t seem to feel the same way.
There were complicated looks on their faces as they looked at the child that Aisha was holding.
It wasn’t hard to guess what they were thinking, but it turned out that it was even more than that.
"I’ve heard that my daughter gave birth to an interesting child as well."
Hearing this, the confidants that Aisha let into the room winced.
I was surprised to see them act this way, but then I quickly realized what it was they were afraid of.
The succession of the Elven Kingdom.
Currently, Aisha was the Elven Queen because most of the high elves were deposed at the moment. They were in a situation that made it hard for them to actually try and take this position from her.
But now that there was a child that had been born with the features of a high elf and even seemed to have a higher purity than Aisha, it would mean that there was another candidate.
Not to mention that this candidate was the grandchild of the current Elven Queen.
If this was known, then it really might cause a stir.
Now adding in the fact that the child that Aisha gave birth to was one that looked completely human, there might even be more that supported that child taking the throne from her.
It wasn’t as if Aisha cared that much about the throne since she didn’t want it in the first place.
The thing that Aisha was concerned about was the safety of both her child and her grandchild. There was no doubt that there would be elves that would want to interfere once they learned of this situation.
It was one thing to have a child that had a higher purity of high elf blood compared to Aisha. Now that there was this second child that didn’t seem to have any trace of high elf blood in them, it really felt like the situation would change.
Once the normal elves learned of this, they would want to make a few changes with their ruler.
Especially since there was no guarantee that they would have stability with their current ruler.
"I don’t know anything about this even if you ask me about it." I said with a shrug in the end.
Aisha didn’t blame me for answering like this since no one really understood what the conditions were to become a high elf. They always thought that it was something that was passed down through a bloodline, but now it seemed like this wasn’t the case.
Or at least it wasn’t the case when it came to any child that was related to me.
Though she didn’t say anything, I could see the way that she was looking at me.
It was as if she wanted me to come up with some way to solve this matter.
After thinking about it, I said, "I’ll go and ask someone that knows about this."
Though I said this, I wasn’t actually that confident that I would be able to solve it.
After all, the person that I had in mind wasn’t someone that was that easy to ask questions to. If they were willing to answer, then it would be a good thing.
But if they didn’t want to say anything, then there was no way that I would be able to make them talk.
They were the one that the elves worshiped in the first place, so it would only make sense that they would know more about the elves.
It was just that if I wanted to talk to them, I would have to go to a certain place first.
The situation wasn’t good right now, so if I went there...
"It’ll be fine. No one will learn of what happened here."
As Aisha said this, she looked at the confidants that were in the room.
It wasn’t a threatening look that she cast in their direction, it was more one of trust.
At the same time, it seemed like the confidants showed that they were worthy of this trust as they all looked at Aisha with similar looks.
