Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2207: Successor (1)
Since we both had the same thought, we didn’t waste any time heading to the place that would confirm this thought.
It was best to ask the one responsible directly to their face.
Only I didn’t think that they would answer me that easily...
From what I knew about the one responsible, they were not the kind that would answer when asked questions. In fact, they would do all that they could do to avoid answering anything that I asked them.
The only thing that they seemed interested in was their own interests...
But there really was no one else that we could ask to get any answers from.
Which was why we came to the temple.
The moment that we arrived, it seemed like there were those that were prepared to welcome us. It seemed like they had long received the oracle from the other side, so they guided me to the place that I wanted to go.
Once I was there, it didn’t seem like there was even a transition as I was pulled into that space.
Looking around, it seemed like we weren’t alone.
There seemed to be all kinds of gods that were gathered in this place, as if they were all here to witness something.
Seeing this, I couldn’t help slightly knitting my brows.
After all, it felt like a certain someone was trying to prevent me from saying what I wanted to say by gathering all of these gods here. But even if that was the case, it wasn’t as if I was going to not say it.
There was something that had to be said.
"Did you see the sign that I sent?"
I swallowed the words that had been about to come out of my mouth and I looked at Aquaron with a strange look.
Even if I had prepared myself, this certainly wasn’t what I had been expecting.
Though it certainly did make it much easier for me, it was strange that he would suddenly admit something like this...
Especially in front of all the gods like this.
It was almost like admitting one’s crime in public...
Though looking closely, it didn’t seem like the gods cared that Aquaron admitted something like this. It even looked like they were going to praise Aquaron because he did this.
The more that I saw the gods like this, the more that I felt that something was off. This wasn’t a simple feeling, it really felt like they were all conspiring against me in some way...
It was as if the more that I felt this feeling, the more that I wanted to leave this place.
But without getting the information I wanted, it wasn’t as if I could actually leave.
So with a sigh, I asked, "Why did you do it?"
"It’s very simple. It was to announce the birth of my successor."
Though the words coming out of his mouth could be understood, I just couldn’t understand when he put them together like this. After all, what Aquaron had just said just didn’t make any sense at all.
"A mortal? Your successor?" I slowly asked once I came back to my senses.
Aquaron just nodded as if this was a natural thing.
At the same time, it seemed like all of the gods just accepted this matter as if it was natural. It didn’t seem like there was a single god that had anything to say about this.
Once again, it felt like there was something seriously wrong with this situation.
Once it reached that point, I couldn’t help blurting out, "Are you crazy?"
There was a part of me that regretted saying this, but it was already too late to take this back. Since it was already out there, the only thing that could be done was to narrow my eyes to look at Aquaron as if I was questioning him.
It was just that it didn’t seem like any of the gods were offended by this.
There wasn’t even a single one of them that seemed surprised that I asked this.
Instead, there was this amused look that was on their faces as if they had already been expecting me to ask this.
However, Aquaron just calmly said, "I’m very serious about this. There’s no one else worthy of being my successor."
I couldn’t help looking at Aquaron like he had gone mad and I was meeting him for the first time. This version of Aquaron was completely different from any version of Aquaron that I had met before.
It was just that the more that I talked with him, the more that I thought he had completely lost his mind.
To say that a mortal was the only one worthy of being his successor and to say it in front of all these gods that followed him...
Now that I could see the appearance of these gods, I could see that they were all gods that were related to water in some way. Since that was the case, then these gods were most likely the gods that were subordinates of Aquaron.
If one thought about sanely, one would think that one of these gods would be Aquaron’s successor eventually if gods did have successors. It was just that these gods didn’t seem to mind at all what Aquaron was saying.
All of them seemed to support this as well.
"Why would they be willing to submit to a mortal?"
There was a part of me that was even more suspicious as I thought, "Are they just going along so that they could get rid of my child later on?"
But then again, it wasn’t as if there was anything to gain from trying to make a child like this disappear...
"Then how are you going to make him your successor? How will you turn a mortal into a god?"
At this point, the only thing that I could do was be sarcastic like this.
It was just that Aquaron didn’t seem to care at all that I was being sarcastic.
