Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure
Chapter 2306: Return to nature
"This place...isn’t it a bit too much?"
I couldn’t help shaking my head when I saw the land spread out in front of me.
This was the place that the prime minister had arranged for me, but it really didn’t seem like there was anything here.
Even if I had requested something like this, it felt like he was going too far with the plot of land that he had prepared.
But it wasn’t as if I didn’t know why the prime minister did this.
"So he thinks that I won’t be able to cause any trouble if I’m in a place that has nothing."
With everything that had happened, I could understand why the prime minister wanted to do something like this. After all, I had caused quite a few problems that he had to fix in the end.
Now that I was in this place, I could tell that this place really wasn’t filled with anything at all.
In fact, it felt like all life had been taken away from this place. It felt as if everything that was in this place had been suppressed by something.
I had already read the reports on this place, so I knew exactly what it was that had done this.
This was one of the places that the corruption energy had swept through.
Before this, this place had been one of the thriving farming areas of the Kite Kingdom. However, the corruption energy that swept through this place had completely wiped out all signs of life.
Even after it was dispelled, the land here was in this state.
It wasn’t as if I didn’t know what else the prime minister was thinking in sending me to this place and I agreed with him. After all, I also wanted to see if it was possible to completely restore the land that had been ravaged by the corruption energy.
So far, the only thing that we’ve been able to do is use divine energy or holy magic to purify the land, but it wasn’t as if that alone was enough. After all, many of the places that had been ravaged by the corruption energy had turned into places like this.
If this continued, it was only a matter of time before we completely ran out of space for the various races of the continent.
It was even worse for those that had limited space like the various races.
Only it wasn’t as if something like this was easy.
Even for me, I didn’t really know what I was looking for as I investigated this area.
After all, it wasn’t as if I knew what was needed for a land to be filled with life to begin with.
"For now, the first thing that I should do is grow some things."
The reason that I had come here was to live the simple farmer life, so the first thing that a farmer should have was crops. Though it was clear that this place wouldn’t be able to sustain any crops in the first place.
So the only thing that I could do was use my bit of knowledge from my past life to try and fix this place.
"Nutrients would be the first thing needed for plants to grow and the corruption energy should have wiped out everything that was here. Which means that if I want to grow things, I need to revive the land first."
From the mangas that I had read, I knew that meant that I had to fill this place with things like fertilizer and worms. After all, both of those would be able to replenish the nutrients that were missing from this place.
Only it didn’t seem like it was that effective.
"Worms need things to eat, it’s not as if they can eat the lifeless dirt..."
I couldn’t help feeling a bit silly when I did this, but I still started scattering food waste and other waste that I had created. It was just that this was too little, so I started using divine energy to create waste as well.
It really seemed odd that I was using creation divine energy to create this waste, but I could feel that something was changing in this land after I did this.
The worms were making their way through the things that I provided them and were slowly bringing back life to this land.
However, it didn’t seem like this was enough.
It still felt like there was something that was still missing from the dirt itself that would have given it life.
The more that I looked at it, the more that it felt like there was something important missing.
"Right, they said that if you want to properly revive dirt, you should bring some fresh dirt from another place first."
But I was in the middle of nowhere and it wasn’t as if I could just pull out dirt like that.
So the only thing that I could do was raise my hand and focus my creation divine energy. With all of it gathering in a single point like this, it soon took the form of dirt.
The only thing that I could do was use my creation divine energy to stop the gap and create dirt that would match the dirt of other places.
But because I was using the creation divine energy, I actually noticed something.
"It’s the microorganisms that make the difference."
Even if the worms and fertilizer were able to replenish the nutrients in the soil, it wasn’t as if they would be enough to replenish the things that were living there on their own. The bacteria that lived in the dirt was also an essential part of determining if it was healthy or not.
Once bacteria was added in from the healthy dirt, it made this place much more fertile.
It made it so that the seeds that I planted were able to grow.
I even used a bit of divine energy just to confirm this as I pushed them to sprout.
A first step had been taken in reviving this land.
