Shut-In Of The 'Dead'
Chapter 128: Blood Transfusion *insert blood transfusion sound*
Shig wanted to complain, especially when they hadn’t gotten hold of the mysterious blood that he needed for his younger sister. Then again, Ayaka and Kazuichi were the only ones standing between him and the other Hybrids present in the auction.
Because of that, there was nothing he could do but go with the flow, letting Ayaka and Kazuichi go through with their decision of leaving the auction early. Then again, they specified that they’d do something about the mysterious blood, so Shig’s worries were lightened of the assurance.
The moment they got outside the auction hall, two burly men greeted them with a slight bow. In silence they grunted as they gestured for the group to follow them, leading them right behind the auction hall where the items were located. Kazuichi immediately saw the young lady in the gurney, and he immediately checked if she was okay.
"She’s fine, but she won’t be fine for long. We have to transfuse some blood into her. But before that, we have to get out of here, otherwise, we’re going to garner unnecessary attention." Ayaka voiced out.
Before she could give her payment of three hundred million to the auction people, Kazuichi already processed the payment with his black card. He was going to get her anways, it’s just that Ayaka was faster than him.
Once that was done, Kazuichi tucked the lady tightly in her blanket to keep her warm and induce her blood flow. They’d take her to Shig’s shelter, and then begin the blood transfusion. Honestly, they’d have done it in one of the abandoned buildings if they had the equipment, but unfortunately they didn’t.
Now that Kazuichi got a good look at her, the girl was actually prepossessing with the curves in all the right places. The only reason why all of them didn’t notice that was because her long hair covered a huge portion of her face, and the hospital gown she wore didn’t accentuate her figure at all.
Then again, one look and Kazuichi realized just how bad the state of the lady was. She wasn’t that malnourished since she was fed properly in order to harvest her pr3cious blood from her. But other than that, she was basically neglected.
...
Sometime passed, and the group arrived at the shelter wherein Shig and his younger sister resided. Without explanation, Shig went through the entrance with his group, ignoring the stares that he got from the other shelter residents.
Urgently, the group made a beeline to Shig’s place, and then they only stopped when all of them were already inside.
Fortunately, the residents somewhat trusted Shig so they didn’t bother putting their noses where they don’t belong. Instead, they calmly tried to assume what was going on before retiring to their places and hoping that Shig would provide them an explanation later on.
"Onii~?" Suzu trailed off as she half-greeted her older brother as well as everyone else. She had no idea why they brought a lady in a gurney to their place, but since she was bedridden, she felt like she had no place in asking prying questions regarding the lady.
"All right, I’ll go get the syringe, meanwhile, can you drain your blood, Kazuichi?" Shig asked. At first, he wanted to ask Kazuichi if he had the same blood type as the lady, then he realized that Hybrid blood worked differently so he put the question at the backburner.
Furthermore, they have an expert in their grasp, Mizunochi Ayaka. There was no chance that the operation would go wrong, not on her watch.
One might wonder why Shig would have the equipment needed for blood transfusion. Well, in a way he horded a plethora of medical-related items so he could tend to his sister more effectively. And right now, he guessed that all those needless preparations were finally bearing fruit.
"Why are you doing a blood transfusion? Can someone explain what’s going on?" Tris asked, dumbfounded. Even Arisu had the same reaction since they suddenly brought a lady in a gurney and then asked Kazuichi for a blood transfusion.
"Before all that, just to make sure... Arisu, do we have the same smell? I mean, of course we have slightly different scents but in terms of Hybrid type... are we the same?" Kazuichi keenly asked.
"Yes... in fact, all three of you smell the same. You, that hospital bed lady, and the purple-haired lady. What’s going on?" Arisu asked.
"That confirms it then. Oh, and I’m Mizunochi Ayaka, stronghold leader of the Scarlet Blood Stronghold." Ayaka briefly introduced herself before putting a needle through Kazuichi’s arm and reattaching it to a blood bag.
"Gwah~! Can’t you do it gently?" Kazuichi exclaimed since he was caught by surprise.
"Wait, they have the same smell? So the three of them have the same Hybrid types, then? But I thought Kazuichi smelled weird as a Hybrid?"
More and more questions kept piling up, so Ayaka just raised her hand in a gesture for momentary silence. "Let’s keep them zipped for now. I’ll spill everything later. Right now we have to focus on this dying lady?"
Nodding their heads, everyone remained silent for the rest of the event. After draining a blood bag’s worth of blood from Kazuichi, they then attached the blood bag to a needle they inserted on the lady’s arm.
"Here, hold it." Ayaka asked, to which Shig obliged. It didn’t even occur to him that a blood transfusion would take at least two hours.
Groan~!
The lady instantly felt the blood slowly rushing through her system and just as Ayaka had expected, her body accepted Kazuichi’s blood without complaints. With this, she was out of death’s door, for now. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
After a brief moment of seeing Kazuichi’s face, the lady then stirred, and then she returned to her peaceful slumber. It didn’t take long before her chest heaved up and down, a sign of a comfortable sleep.
Everyone, including Suzu, heaved a sigh of relief, and then they turned to Ayaka who was supposed to explain everything to them.
"All right, all right," Ayaka let out, completely comprehending their stares.
