Chapter 639: Wearing Me Out
"Gotta say, dude, this Pocket Dimension is pretty sweet. It’s awesome that we even have proper bathrooms in here. Regarding that, though...how exactly does it work?" Jaden asked me curiously.
Breakfast wrapped up a while ago, and we were back in the Pocket Dimension. I’d activated the time dilation, we figured that it’d be a good idea to take some time to get some training in with our new abilities before we set out for the Demon nation.
Even though we gain an instinctive understanding of how to use our abilities during Spirit Fusion, we’ll be better prepared if we already experience and know what we’re working with ahead of time.
Spirit Fusion is definitely a pretty damn valuable new addition to our arsenals, having multiple options when it comes to power boosts is a gamechanger.
And while it does have that five minute time limit and one hour cooldown, that only applies for each individual Spirit.
In other words, even if we use up the five minute time limit with one Spirit, we can immediately switch to using Spirit Fusion with a different one.
Well, it’s the Apostles in my and Aria’s cases, but the same rules apply.
Ciel’s the only one who has to face the disadvantage of the time limit, since she’s only got Rex and can’t summon any other Spirits.
Anyway, we were currently taking a moment to let our food digest after that heavy breakfast. After that, we’ll take turns sparring against each other.
The layout of the Pocket Dimension can’t be damaged, so it’s the ideal place for us to train in, we can cut loose without worry, Ai’s also implemented a similar effect to the safety barriers as an added precaution.
Though, with Jaden’s Rejuven Spirit, we’ve pretty thoroughly covered on that front.
"Yeah, this place is pretty damn convenient. I was wondering the same thing, though, how exactly do the bathrooms work?" Chimed in Ciel.
"Well, back in our world, Ai scanned a lot of infrastructure after I first unlocked Pocket Dimension, and uses that as a reference whenever making changes or additions to the layout of the Pocket Dimension.
In other words, she basically 3D-printed the bathrooms and plumbing here, along with everything else.
As for water, I have a water bottle stored in Treasury, she just makes a ton of copies of it to fill up a tank that the bathrooms are connected to. And as for where the waste goes, she replicated the effect of my Devour Skill, the pipes lead to it," I informed them.
"It’s a good thing she scanned toilets, we almost told her not to bother since Kai and I don’t need them anymore, but we then figured it wouldn’t hurt to have the option, just in case. Glad we did, otherwise you guys would be struggling," Added Aria wryly.
"Yeah, I really don’t want to have to get used to medieval toilets," Responded Cleo with a shudder.
"<Cool, I don’t need to use toilets anymore either. Glad I can still eat, though, not to mention get drunk and high>," Remarked Rex.
"True, it’d probably be pretty miserable if you couldn’t," I nodded in agreement.
"<Honestly, I’d say this is the perfect body. If I take damage, Ciel just needs to resummon me and I’m as good as new. I can eat as much and as unhealthily as I want without affecting my health.
Same with booze and weed, they still affect me, but the side effects are undone when I’m resummoned. And of course, I don’t need to use the bathroom anymore. I’m glad I died, I wouldn’t have gotten this body if I hadn’t>," He sighed gratefully.
"Hey, come on...I mean, I get what you’re saying and all, but I did mourn you for the last three months, you know," Huffed Ciel indignantly.
"<Well, I’m only saying I’m glad I died because I reunited with you in this form. It’d be a different story if I was gone for good>."
"By the way, guys, how should we handle our sparring sessions? Since Rex will be fighting alongside Ciel, there’s five of us, we can hold concurrent sparring sessions without a problem, but we’ll always have one person who’ll be the odd one out. Well, unless we go for two v one bouts, or a three-person mini battle royale," I suggested thoughtfully.
"Yeah, that sounds fun. I wanna spar against all you guys at least once each, and I’m not picky about what form that takes," Grinned Jaden eagerly.
"<This sounds like it’s going to be a pain>," Sighed Rex warily.
"Huh, that’s right, I’ll finally get to spar against you again," I realized with a smirk, Rex’s eyes widening in alarm.
"<U-Uh...yeah, I’d rather not. I already said I never want to spar against you again, and I meant it>."
"Come on, that was literally years ago, it’ll be fun! And besides, it’ll mainly be me fighting," Pointed out Ciel.
"<Still, though...>."
"Actually, mind sparring against me first? I wanna take on the challenge of going up against your Explosion Magic, with the added difficulty of dealing with Rex’s intangibility," Remarked Jaden, looking pretty fired up. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"Sure, sounds good to me," Nodded Ciel with a grin, before Rex could interject.
"In that case, how about you spar against Cleo, Kai? I still feel a bit meh from being woken up so early, so I’ll sit out the first round of sparring and take a nap," Declared Aria, stretching her arms up lazily.
"Yeah, alright, that’s fine by me. You cool with that, Cleo?"
"Mhm, sure, no objections here. It’s been a while since I last sparred against you, maybe Spirit Fusion will give me the edge I need to finally beat you," She replied sheepishly.
"Oh, right, I should test out my new Sound Magic too," Responded Jaden thoughtfully.
"Totally forgot that I’ve got Wind Magic now...yeah, this’ll be fun," Added Ciel excitedly.
"<Just hearing all of you talking about it is wearing me out...>."
