Point-of-View: Jaden Xeno

———————————————————————————

This is awesome...Cure’s healing capabilities are basically unlimited, and I don’t even need to use Spirit Fusion to reap the benefits.

Keeping a summoned Spirit out does use up a small bit of Mana, but it’s a pretty negligible amount.

Fusing with Cure barely boosts my physical stats at all, so whether I fuse with them or have them draped around my shoulders like I’m currently doing, it doesn’t really make much of a difference.

Which means, I can fuse with one of my more powerful Spirits while having Cure simply perched upon my body, it’s almost like I’m using Spirit Fusion with two Spirits.

What’s that old saying, I get to have my cake and eat it too? Hm...now that I think about it, that phrase doesn’t really make any sense.

I mean, if you have cake, isn’t it a given that you’d eat it? It’d be a total waste of perfectly good cake if you didn’t.

"Hey, best pay attention!" Ciel’s voice suddenly rang out from above me, as she launched herself high up into the air and unleashed a rapid, swirling sphere of Negative Energy down towards me.

I swiftly veered across to evade it with a telekinetic burst, the sphere plummeting down and erupting fiercely as it collided against the floor, an intense shockwave bursting out.

She then generated dozens of small explosive balls in front of her, before triggering an intense gust of wind to launch them towards me with immense speed.

I unleashed a telekinetic shockwave as the barrage of small explosions closed in on me, triggering them before they could reach me.

A chain of explosions rang out as the small projectiles erupted in unison, my eyes widening slightly as Ciel came charging forward.

She triggered a powerful explosive burst behind herself and launched forth, phasing right through me before I could react and slipping behind me.

I spun around as fast as I could while simultaneously activating Telekinetic Zone, generating a force field spanning a radius of five meters, right in the nick of time as Ciel began to swing her Explosion Blade down.

As she froze in position, she promptly broke free as she turned herself fully intangible, the glowing red blade of concentrated explosive energy whizzing down and phasing into my right shoulder.

Her swing came to an abrupt halt as she turned the blade tangible again, getting caught in the powerful grasp of my Telekinetic Zone, before I found myself hurtling across the air to my left with an excruciating burst of pain across my right shoulder, as her blade exploded inside that spot and blasted my right arm clean off, shattering the right side of my ribcage in the process.

I triggered a telekinetic shockwave to cancel out the momentum and bring myself to a halt, blood gushing out and raining down, splattering across the floor.

I grimaced in pain, before letting out a quiet sigh of relief as Cure rapidly regenerated my arm, the pain fading fast.

"Oops, sorry, that looked really painful! It was a really nice boom though!" Called out Ciel, right as several explosive projectiles appeared all around her, bathing the room in a deep crimson glow as a wide grin spread out across her face.

Yeah, she definitely doesn’t look sorry.

Still, I can work with this...

I rapidly swooped down as the explosive projectiles began to intensify, dropping down into my shadow and traveling across as fast as I could.

When I go into the shadows, it’s like a dark, mirrored version of the area I was in, and there are openings I can emerge through around the spots where any shadows have been cast.

That said, when I enter through my own shadow, the shadow obviously disappears, but I can still emerge through that spot. Which is good...otherwise, if I entered my own shadow in an enclosed space where there are no other shadows cast, I’d be trapped with no way out, that’s a scary thought.

Anyway, this whole time, besides my own shadow, the only other shadow I had to work with was Ciel’s shadow. Which, of course, means that she’d know exactly where I’d be emerging from.

But right now, with all those bright, intense explosive projectiles she’s generated all around her, the light emanating from the projectiles are casting shadows of her body from multiple angles.

I zipped up along the wall behind her, before emerging from a shadow cast around that spot. I snapped open my jaws and unleashed a deafening blast of sound towards her, while simultaneously charging up and launching myself towards her.

She spun around in alarm, starting to fire her charged-up projectiles at me, before letting out a slight gasp as my sound blast hit her, dazing her and pushing her back a few meters through the air, right as I closed in on her.

Most of her projectiles lost stability and fell apart, dissipating as I generated and intensified immense, swirling telekinetic energy around my right fist.

I drove my fist forward, triggering a pressurized telekinetic burst from behind my elbow to propel my fist forward. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

As my fist closed in on the middle of her torso, she just barely managed to get her Explosion Blade up defensively.

My fist collided against the concentrated blade of explosive energy, a devastating blast erupting upon impact as her blade exploded in unison with the telekinetic energy I’d generated.

A crushing shockwave burst out, sending the two of us hurtling away in either direction, before I let out a sharp gasp as my back slammed onto the wall behind me, Ciel simultaneously crashing onto the wall on the other end.

Loud thuds rang out as we fell off the walls and plummeted, hitting the floor.

I groaned in pain as I shakily sat up, getting back onto my feet and walking over towards Ciel as Cure healed me.

Ciel and Rex suddenly separated, before my Spirit Fusion with Onyx reached its time limit as well.

"Th-That really hurt...it was a super satisfying boom, though. Though, why didn’t you use your Personalis Arma at all?" She inquired with a frown, as I had Cure heal her too.

"Well, between Spirit Fusion and Sound Magic, I’m using a lot of new abilities, so I figured using too many options in unison would be counterproductive, at least until I’m more used to my abilities," I explained, helping her up.

"<Anyway, since Spirit Fusion is on cooldown, we should probably take a break and-...>," Began Rex hopefully.

"Time for round two! And feel free to use Spirit Fusion with your other Spirits, don’t hold back just because I can’t use my Spirit Fusion right now," Grinned Ciel, stretching her arms up as Cure finished healing her.

"Alright, sounds good. Bring it on," I nodded with a smile, as Rex groaned in exasperation.
