Chapter 302: Chapter 302: You... Aren’t Angry Anymore?

Listening to the words Caden Lockwood suddenly uttered, Logan Shaw’s face instantly turned pale.

He had already experienced Caden Lockwood’s way of completely suppressing him.

Throughout the night, which of Caden Lockwood’s words wasn’t filled with gunpowder aimed at him?

Evelyn Morgan looked at Caden Lockwood, feeling that his words about sponsoring Logan Shaw were somewhat strange.

However, she couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was strange about them.

"No need!"

Leaving behind those brief words, Logan Shaw didn’t even bother to say "goodbye" and drove off.

Evelyn stood beside Caden Lockwood, sneaking glances at him. That trace of arrogance was still there, and his cold hostility hadn’t diminished.

Seeing his gaze turning towards her, she quickly lowered her eyes, thinking to herself that a storm was surely coming!

He raised his hand, and she instinctively took a step back, tightly closing her eyes. Numerous possibilities flashed through her mind.

He might slap her so hard she wouldn’t know east from west.

He might just push her to the ground and glare at her with an icy stare.

He might grab her wrist and throw her into the car, causing her whole body to ache.

In those few seconds, she imagined many possibilities.

Each one was a punishment that filled her with panic and fear.

But in fact, when Caden Lockwood saw the fear fully displayed on Evelyn’s face, his heart felt as if it had been slashed by a sharp knife.

He felt heartache, helplessness, a sigh, confusion, and tenderness.

Is she really so afraid of him?

If she truly feared him, if she had a sense of dread, why did she repeatedly only manage to annoy him?

He rubbed her forehead with his large hand and then pulled her into his embrace, his voice cold: "Erin Morgan, tell me yourself, how do you want me to punish you?"

"Can’t you not punish me?" Evelyn asked quietly, her chest filled with such a heavy sense of depression that she felt she was about to explode.

Noticing Caden Lockwood’s surrounding cold hostility intensified, Evelyn quickly smacked her own head hard and urgently said, "Is this okay? I hit myself really hard! Really! Super, super hard! My God! I’m dizzy!"

Caden Lockwood’s heart ached, and he immediately grabbed Evelyn’s hand, angrily saying, "Who told you to hit yourself?"

Then, he couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

This silly woman!

Clearly furious, yet somehow, her action managed to amuse him in the end.

Evelyn gave Caden Lockwood a couple of light taps and then quietly asked, "You... are not angry anymore?"

"Who said that?" Caden Lockwood narrowed his eyes, "How many times have I told you not to have meals with Logan Shaw!"

"But we were just having a proper meal, sitting in the main hall, not in a private room!" Evelyn retorted defiantly, "Besides, Logan Shaw has always been busy with no time; it was just because of sudden shortfall in funds for his concert that he wanted to chat with me!"

"He’s in a bad mood, so he asks you to chat? Are you two that close? Even asking me for money to lend to him?" Caden Lockwood’s anger grew stronger.

"Don’t you have friends? Wouldn’t your friends talk to you if they were feeling down? Besides! The check is already in your pocket; who did I lend money to?" Evelyn unconsciously raised her voice as well.

Caden Lockwood narrowed his eyes, "You dare to talk to me in that tone?"

"I naturally have a loud voice!" Evelyn said coldly.

"Evelyn Morgan!" Caden Lockwood’s expression grew darker and colder, his voice rising as well, "You’re very disappointed that Logan Shaw didn’t take your check, aren’t you? Especially hoping you could be the one to help him? Hmm?"
