Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 303: Evelyn, It’s So Easy to Fall in Love with You!
"Can you stop mentioning Logan all the time?" Evelyn shouted at Caden, her voice strained. "He doesn’t have feelings for me! The one he likes is Shannon Dunn!"
"Shannon already rejected his confession a long time ago, told him to give up!" Caden’s forehead veins throbbed, "But you showed up by his side at such a time, comforting him, encouraging him. Are you out of your mind? Do you really want him to fall for you?"
"You’re the one who’s out of your mind!" Evelyn’s face flushed with anger. "Logan just got dumped, and he still likes someone as beautiful and elegant as Shannon. Is he blind to suddenly fall for me?"
"Who said you’re any less than Shannon?" Caden roared, "Don’t you know you have qualities that could completely outshine Shannon? Falling in love with you is so easy!" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
After hearing Caden’s words, Evelyn’s breath hitched.
She blinked, all her bravado dissipated at that moment.
Is falling for her really so easy?
But he never said he loved her!
Caden clenched his fist, finally realizing what he had said.
A faint blush crept up his charming cheeks, and his gaze wandered around before finally settling back on Evelyn.
"Then why did you throw away the breakfast I made and ate the one Shannon sent?" Evelyn’s voice was very small.
It dawned on her then that this little thing had been a thorn in her side, something she had been obsessing over.
Caden’s black eyebrows tightened. How did Evelyn know that the breakfast was sent by Shannon?
At that time, he just took it incidentally to piss her off!
Could Shannon have been stirring things up again?
"Did you really see me eat the breakfast Shannon sent?" Caden asked, his tone unfriendly.
Evelyn was taken aback.
Was Caden deliberately trying to annoy her again?
Unhappy about being bullied by Caden, she shot back gloomily, "Did you see me lend money to Logan?"
Upon hearing her words, Caden’s lips twisted awkwardly, an unpleasant and complex expression on his face.
His palm itched, feeling an urge to grab Evelyn’s delicate neck.
Even if he wouldn’t choke her to death, he wanted to hold on until she was almost breathless, just to show her his power.
Anyone who dared to provoke Caden Lockwood, anyone who dared to oppose him, never ended well.
But somehow, Evelyn Morgan had the ability to repeatedly anger him, yet he still ended up being the one to compromise first.
"What exactly did you do with the money?" Caden asked with an authoritative tone that left Evelyn with no choice but to answer.
Evelyn’s eyes dimmed.
She wasn’t sure if Caden knew that Cecilia Lynch was Julian Keaton’s mistress.
But this matter, she didn’t want to bring up again.
She hoped Cecilia would live well, forget the darkness Julian brought, and start anew.
"Didn’t you say you favored me?" Evelyn replied in a tone devoid of any warmth. "If I’m your favorite, can’t you at least show me a bit of trust?"
Caden’s face darkened at Evelyn’s question, actually rendering him speechless.
"Turns out it was all lies." Evelyn sighed heavily, eyes filled with deep disappointment. "What so-called favoritism was there? There was nothing at all! Big liar!"
As she spoke, there was no longer any smile on her pretty face.
Turning around, she gloomily prepared to head home.
Caden’s heart tightened, and he immediately reached out to seize Evelyn’s wrist, pulling her back into his arms.
"Feeling wronged?" Caden’s deep, mellow voice sounded by Evelyn’s ear. "Hmm?"
