Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 416: Last Night... So Out of Control
"Young Madam! I..."
Aunt May hesitated, took a few steps forward, turned off the faucet, gently took the bedding from Evelyn’s hands, and softly wiped the water off her face with a towel.
Aunt May looked at Evelyn’s hands, which were already chafed and bleeding.
"Young Madam," Aunt May said softly, "how could no one love you?"
Pausing for a moment, Aunt May wanted to say, "The Young Master loves you."
But thinking of what might have happened in this bedroom last night, Aunt May swallowed her words.
"I love you!" Aunt May allowed a faint smile to slip onto her lips, "Maybe someone like me isn’t fit to say such a thing, but from the first moment I saw you, I’ve regarded you as a daughter."
Upon hearing these words, Evelyn’s eyes lit up. She clutched Aunt May’s hand and said urgently, "Then let’s leave here quickly! Let’s go! As far away as possible! Aunt May! Let’s go now!"
As she shouted, Evelyn stood up, ran to get the suitcase, and then opened the wardrobe, throwing all her own clothes into the suitcase.
Her expression was resolute, without a hint of hesitation in her movements as she packed, her eyes even glimmering with a hint of expectation.
Aunt May was now quite worried.
If the Young Madam really left this home, the Young Master would surely be furious!
"Young Madam!" Aunt May quickly stopped Evelyn, "We cannot leave! Isn’t it good living here?"
"No, it’s not." Evelyn shook her head, crying, "Not good at all! Aunt May, let’s go, shall we? I’ll work hard and earn money to buy you a big house. I beg you, take me away from here. I don’t want to face that devil!"
Listening to Evelyn’s tearful pleas, Aunt May sighed heavily in her heart.
Having known Evelyn for so many years, she fully understood what kind of person this girl was.
Never had she seen Evelyn so nervous and scared!
Apparently, last night, the Young Master indeed went too far.
"Take me away?" Evelyn pleaded, her tone probing, "I want to leave."
"Young Madam." Aunt May pulled Evelyn to sit down, "You and the Young Master are husband and wife. Some things the Young Master did maybe weren’t done correctly, but in essence, he wasn’t wrong."
Evelyn looked at Aunt May in disbelief.
Does that mean, if she was violated, she deserved it?
"I didn’t mean that, please don’t overthink it," Aunt May quickly said, "I just meant that even if you want to leave, you shouldn’t just leave like this. At least, you should have a proper talk with the Young Master, right?"
"..."
"Otherwise, if you run away like this, won’t the Young Master come looking for you? And when he finds you, you’ll still have to face him," Aunt May analyzed, "Rather than facing it later, why not settle it now, once and for all."
Evelyn stood there dazed, not knowing how to respond to Aunt May’s words. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Yes!
If she runs away now, Caden Lockwood surely won’t let her go!
And where could she run to?
She truly has nowhere to go!
But to stay and face Caden Lockwood, she’s really scared.
She’s afraid.
"I know, facing the Young Master now must be difficult for you. But, Young Madam, you must be strong. Moreover, the Young Master really treats you well, truly!" Aunt May stated with certainty.
Seeing Evelyn still unresponsive, Aunt May continued, "Last time when you had a high fever, the Young Master was frantic with worry. The Young Master loves you, all along he hasn’t forced you to do anything. There must have been some misunderstanding with you, which is why last night he was so... out of control."
