Slowly Falling into His Love Trap
Chapter 417: Is It Possible to Find Out Who L Is?
When mentioning last night, Evelyn’s body started trembling again.
"Hungry?" Aunt May changed the topic, "I’ve made breakfast. Want to eat now?"
Evelyn stood there like a wooden stake, as if she were the only person in the room and couldn’t hear what Aunt May was saying.
Her heart was heavy and troubled.
If this continues, she doesn’t know if she’ll go mad.
Aunt May sighed deeply and could only pull Evelyn out of the bedroom.
Every step Evelyn took was difficult, her legs felt like they weren’t her own, awkward at every move.
Especially since even a slight step forward caused a sharp pain in her lower body.
It felt like thorns were lodged there, making her extremely uncomfortable.
She looked at Aunt May, finding it hard to speak of such a shameful issue, so she just held it in gloomily.
By the time she finally reached the dining room, she was drenched in cold sweat.
Upon seeing the breakfast on the table, Evelyn realized she was indeed hungry.
After being tormented by Caden all night, she hadn’t had a sip of water.
Sitting by the dining table, she devoured the food ravenously, tears streaming down her face...
Meanwhile, Caden drove to the company, kicked open the office door, and went to the cubicle to wash the sweat off his body.
After all the exertion, he was also tired.
But his physical exhaustion was nothing compared to the mental one.
What had he done?
Though Evelyn was drugged, he actually ended up... forcing her?
Thinking of this, Caden wanted to punch himself hard.
He’d held back for so long, why couldn’t he last just one more night?
Now, how was he to face her in the future?
She must already... hate him to death!
Caden laughed coldly, what’s there to hate?
After all, Evelyn never liked him in the first place.
The image of Evelyn crying her heart out flooded his mind. Caden clenched his fists, punching the wall fiercely.
The more he thought, the more vexed he became; the sound of her sobbing seemed to linger, gnawing at his heart.
After his shower, he lay on the bed, his mind filled with Evelyn.
He wondered how she was doing now.
Having been taken by him for so long, she must be in a lot of pain!
Just then, Caden’s phone rang.
His eyes lit up at once, and he picked up the phone, but when he saw Julian Keaton’s name on the screen, his gaze darkened again.
After hesitating for a moment, Caden finally pressed the answer button.
"Failed." Julian’s tone was full of regret, "Not only did we not catch that L, but we also didn’t find Cece."
Caden remained silent, saying nothing.
In fact, ever since he decided to be friends with Julian years ago, they’d both had an understanding not to betray each other.
Back then, Julian joked that if one day someone caught something on him to threaten Caden, he would move a family heirloom jade ring from his left hand to his right.
When Julian came over last night saying those strange things, Caden noticed that Julian had indeed moved the ring from his left to his right hand.
Julian was signaling to Caden not to be deceived, that it was all part of a conspiracy.
But to catch the mastermind, Caden naturally had to play along with the deception.
Yet, those videos turned out to be real.
Caden was just unsure of what exactly happened between Evelyn and Logan Shaw at the time.
"It’s all your fault." Julian’s voice was despondent, "When I went to find Cece yesterday, L noticed something was off about you, said I betrayed him, tipped off Cece, and she ran away again. Caden, you owe me a woman!"
"Any clue who this L might be?" Caden asked coldly, "Why does he want to break up Evelyn and me?"
