Chapter 102: You Have Been Warned

For starters, Desther definitely did not expect that there would be a lot of popups and warnings when one chose their class.

At the very least, the internet and even the government did not talk about these things.

A new interface popped up in front of his eyes once more right after clicking ’Yes’.

Instead of another selection screen, though, this one seemed to be just a reminder or even a warning.

[ One action leads to another. One births two, two births three, and three births all things. You are about to take a path that none have ever taken before. A difficult path, with you as the pioneer. The path that only you can take. This path must not be taken lightly. Be careful of the chaos! You have been warned! ]

[ You choose the Class: Supreme! ]

[ You will receive the Class: Supreme, upon reaching Tier 1(level 11) ]

[ Your experience points is no longer capped at Level 10(99.99%)]

Desther stared at the series of interfaces that popped up in front of him.

’What is that all about?’

The ominous warning and message left him baffled and apprehensive.

’Be careful of the chaos... Are they some sort of disease or an entity, or something along those lines?’

’I just hope that wherever they are right now, they will forever be lost and not find their way to me.’

At this point, Desther already knew that there was already no turning back.

From the title he received back then, he already knew that sooner or later, he would have to face adversaries, whether he liked it or not.

He was not an idiot that would blindly ignore things, even though it was already quite obvious.

This was also the reason why even though he was always complaining about the mission, he would still try to actively complete it and continue to make himself stronger.

This was his way of preparing for what was to come, even though he really did not know of what was coming.

Savior of the world or whatnot. He would need to fight and defend himself if he finds himself in danger anyway.

If someone was truly planning to destroy the world and he was destined to save it, then that could only mean that he needed to be strong enough to contend with it.

As a matter of fact, Desther had already somewhat accepted his fate.

The arrival of the Class: Supreme was not something he expected. And from the words of the warning, ’they’ seemed surprised about its existence too.

’The pioneer, and the first to have this Class... huh.’

Desther could not help but ponder over such details.

Now that he had already ’chosen’ a class, Desther’s level cap was finally removed too.

By tomorrow, it will be a guarantee that he will level up to Tier 1 and become a Supreme.

...

The bright moon moved along with the stars in the dark sky of the night. Clouds moved in sync as time passes by.

The morning sun soon came, as Desther descended the tree’s canopy and jumped down from such a high height.

He landed perfectly on the ground with a slight tremor. His control over his body was phenomenal. With a value of 500 Vitality, there was no way he would be affected by such an impact.

A small crater formed on the ground where he landed, though.

His weight seemed to have increased once more.

He tapped the tree lightly. The entire tree shook as leaves fell toward the ground with a rustle.

In the tree house, Noah was woken up by the commotion and immediately slid down the ladder in a hurry.

He looked around, and it was only upon noticing that Desther was there that he heaved a sigh of relief.

"What was that?"

Desther shrugged his shoulders.

"Must have been the wind."

"Anyway, you need to prepare as soon as possible. The rankings have churned again. We should be expecting more clients today, right?"

Noah nodded his head and went to prepare their simple breakfast. One thing about being in the wild with Desther was actually that they have not eaten the same meal twice in a row.

From time to time, Desther would pick up fruits Noah did not even know were edible before. All of them were pretty tasty too.

Not only that, the real deal was actually monster meat that he had learned to love and enjoy these past few days.

If he knew monster meat was this delicious, he would have urged his father to buy him a lot of them before.

"I have already received all the Awakened Credits from yesterday. Give me your account number so that I can transfer the money over."

Desther thought for a bit before shaking his head.

"Hold onto it for now. Transfer it to me once everything is over. You get yourself some of it, too."

"Oh don’t worry about it. It’s just a small amount anyway," Noah immediately rejected his proposal.

Desther paused and asked, "How much did we make already?"

"So we sold a total of 105 monsters. Each was priced at 3 Awakened Credits so a total of 315. More is coming today as well. We also have some returning clients, and they wanted more today. Do you think you can do it, boss?"

Ever since yesterday, Noah has already been calling him "boss," perhaps because of what he had witnessed.

Desther told him to stop it, saying it was cringe, but Noah remained adamant and kept on calling him that, so Desther decided to just let him be.

The 315 Awakened Credits they earned were basically free money. After all, the spoils from those monsters were harvested by them, and they could still exchange them for some points or even Awakened Credits in the market.

"Don’t worry. We can do it. However, we definitely had to increase our speed. We need to maintain our rank as well after all."

Noah nodded in agreement.

The scores of their other classmates were also growing steadily.

"We can head deeper into the valley today. There should be more monsters there for us to hunt."
