SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 228: All For Nothing? (I)
"Is that what you’ve been telling yourself to cope with your own weakness?"
White asked, and Commander Err couldn’t believe his ears.
"That Humanity as a whole is weak. We stand no chance at all, so all we can do is try to survive for as long as we can before facing eventual destruction."
"Are you calling me weak, by any chance...?"
Commander Err asked, and White shrugged his shoulders.
"Your lies don’t exactly sound like what a strong man would say."
He said, drawing a seat at the table.
Commander Err remained standing for a while before he visibly exhaled, then also moved, drawing a seat opposite White.
"We Humans, as a race, are naturally weaker than our Invader Race, the Supernaturals, and the more we go up the top, the higher this difference becomes."
Commander Err began.
"At the absolute top of power in the Invading Race are beings called Alphanomalous Supernaturals. These groups of creatures are capable of destroying Humanity as a whole if they bond together."
"But they can’t."
White replied.
"I’ve heard the story before. We all will be destroyed if all the Alphanomalous group together to destroy us, but they’re simply incapable of that."
"They can group, White."
He said, as White paused, disbelief evident in his eyes.
"They’ve done it once."
Supreme Commander Err whispered.
"And we lost ten of our strongest Galaxy Experts for that. Ten, White... Ten!"
"And what did you do to make them bond together?"
White asked, not at all falling for the pity trap.
"We killed a Primordial Wolf." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Commander Err said, and White froze before a grin opened on his lips.
He had heard of it during the Simulation within the Alpha Lair from the bartender, and could still remember the exact words:
___________
"There have only been three Primordial Wolves since the descent of us Werewolves onto this world, and an ancient rule states a Primordial Wolf can only appear after the death of another Primordial Wolf."
"The last Primordial Wolf died, so we had a new Primordial, which is the current one."
___________
"So you killed a Primordial Wolf... Sounds good."
White said.
"There was nothing good about killing a Primordial Wolf. We created the requirements for all Alphanomalous creatures to bond together, and they killed ten of our strongest."
"And guess what... A new Primordial Wolf appeared just three months after, making our efforts completely futile."
He explained.
"I think now I understand the shit you’re stuck in."
White said, rising from his seat as his head began to rapidly piece everything together.
"You have strong people in the Powerhouse."
"Awakeners with the most unique abilities, powerful Homo Aetherius, but you don’t deploy them to fight the Supernaturals for a very simple reason."
"Your strong people are capable of taking down even an Alphanomalous creature."
"But if they do that, they trigger the rest of the Alphanomalous creatures, who have the potential to destroy the world."
"So in essence... the hands of your strongest people are tied, meaning Galaxy Ranked Experts are useless in the war against Supernaturals?"
White asked, unable to even believe his own words.
It sounded so foolish even to him.
Imagine growing up all this while, climbing all that ladder just to be told you can’t kill the strongest Supernatural, or you’ll trigger a bomb that will destroy everyone?
"Yes."
Commander Err said.
"NO!"
White responded, and he froze.
"I’ve found a solution: Wipe out Werewolves, but don’t kill a Primordial Wolf."
"That’s your solution right there."
"What?"
Supreme Commander Err said, unable to believe his ears.
"You say the death of Alphanomalous creatures triggers the forbidden bond that could potentially wipe us all out. Then all you have to do is not trigger it."
"Kill all Vampires but leave the Vampire Lord alive."
"Kill all Banshees but leave the Banshee Queen alive."
"That way you trigger no bonds. Problemo solved."
White said, and silence reigned in the room for a while before,
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!
Loud laughter rang out through the hall as White watched the Ultimate Commander wheezing with laughter.
"See, such a simple solution, right?"
White said as Err finally got a hold of himself.
"And here I thought you were smart. Turns out you’re pretty stupid, hahaha."
The Supreme Commander said as White’s expression plummeted
"Kill all Werewolves?"
He asked.
"You think if you killed all Werewolves, the Primordial Wolf won’t do anything but sit down on her throne and watch you kill all her race?"
He asked.
"Of course she’ll react. Just make sure not to kill her. You’ve killed a Primordial Wolf once before, haven’t you? How hard is it not to kill one?"
He asked, and the Ultimate Commander exhaled before replying in a firmer tone
"White... You don’t spare a Primordial Wolf. You survive a Primordial Wolf."
"And when you’re trying to survive, think of spare, and you’re as good as dead."
"When you face an Alphanomalous creature, it’s a brutal fight for survival where you do everything to get to its throat and rip it out in cold blood, or it will rip yours out first."
"You can’t hold back against a Primordial Wolf, White. You’ll die. Your only choice is to kill, and killing triggers the bond."
"Have you tried it before?"
White asked, and Supreme Commander Err paused.
"It’s impossible, White."
The words made White scoff.
"Impossible when you’ve never even tried."
"I, White!"
Commander Err said, rising to his feet.
"I am the Ultimate Supreme Commander of Humanity Ascension Powerhouse."
"The Number One Organization on Earth that can absolutely take down any and every single Awakening Organization on Earth!"
"I have seen the most powerful Awakeners that exist out there and the most insane awakenings there are out there."
"I have the contact of every single Galaxy Ranked Awakener out there in the world, and if one appears tomorrow, I will know everything about him or her by tomorrow night’s fall."
"My control of Awakeners on Earth is absolute!"
He made clear, and in a quieter tone, added,
"And I have seen Alphanomalous Creatures in battle before, too."
"Take my words, White... There’s no Human on Earth who can all by himself go toe-to-toe with an Alphanomalous Creature."
"And even if every single Galaxy Ranked Expert on Earth tried to cage one down, they would all fail... unless I’m willing to lose half of them."
"And White... I’m not."
