SSS Awakening: Starting With Infinite Soul Copy
Chapter 230: First Time Meeting with a Galaxy Rank
"You don’t know that for certain."
Ultimate Commander Err replied.
"I was a UEF Captain Squad member."
White began,
"And there was a Supernatural beast called the Beast of Draugr that destroyed an entire human city, along with three Important UEF Bases."
"I, along with my squad, was ordered to track it down. There was also a certain UEF commander who was assigned to follow. He was said to be an expert on the beast’s weakness."
"But that UEF Commander turned out to be the Beast of Draugr itself, slaughtering my entire combat squad."
White began, as Ultimate Commander Err listened attentively.
"But I didn’t die in its claws."
"I took a forbidden portion that gave me power in exchange for the permanent loss of my cultivation, all to return to the UEF and warn them about Commander Draugr being the Beast of Draugr."
"But all I found waiting for me was being told that I had lost control, and in my final moments, I witnessed a total of four UEF Commanders all glowing with supernatural power."
"And when is all of this meant to happen exactly?" Ultimate Commander Err asked.
"A little over nine years from now."
"The Supernaturals aren’t in a rush, you’re right about that."
"But sooner or later, they’ll figure out a way to turn Humans into Supernaturals that are absolutely loyal to them and beyond powerful compared to the normal Awakeners, while also being undetectable by other Humans."
"The war will be a slow takeover of the highest hierarchies of organizations on Earth until all are Supernaturals."
"You won’t be finding your miracle, not in ten years from now, and I’m afraid by the time you do, it’ll be useless already, as Humanity will have already lost."
White spoke, watching the Ultimate Commander hum deeply, then fall quiet for a long while.
A silence that lasted almost an hour before he stirred once more.
"I’ll formulate new plans as a result of your information..." he said.
"But for now, you at least understand the aim of EGES."
"EGES."
White mused under his breath.
"So... will you join, or take a step out?"
Ultimate Commander Err asked, and White only took three seconds of silence before rising to his feet, cracking his back.
"I guess it wouldn’t hurt to see the so-called strongest experts of Earth."
White said, but deeper in his thoughts, his purpose was clear.
’I still have four more awakening slots that I have yet to use.’
’Maybe I’ll find even more powerful and unique Awakening Souls amongst those in the EGES, and I can copy them, greatly adding to my power.’
’When I have all the awakening slots fulfilled and evolve all the abilities I’ve got from them to the highest grade, then... I can embark on my true plan.’
"Good,"
Ultimate Commander Err said, clapping his hands, and the sound-blocking domes disappeared.
The wall parted, allowing the window to reappear, and the darkness in the room was quickly removed.
SNAP!
He snapped his fingers once more, and immediately a golden door appeared beside him, quietly opening up.
There was nothing but bright golden light, but then a leg emerged, and a figure stepped in.
When he did, White quietly rose to his feet, a gleam crossing through his eyes.
"So... so pure," he whispered in disbelief, looking at the figure before him.
He was a human being, yet he felt more like a god incarnate than a human.
He was like a glowing torch, runes of gold coating every exposed part of his skin, and even beneath his clothes, golden light could be seen sparkling out.
He was a full three meters tall, with long golden hair that stretched down over his shoulders. His eyes were entirely golden, sending scorching beams of light that shook the air before him, as if they had been set ablaze.
Looking at them gave White the illusion of staring directly at the sun, triggering his natural reflex to close his eyes.
His presence was unlike anything White had ever seen in a human, as the man fully stepped out of the door.
His gaze turned immediately to the Supreme Commander.
"Ultimate Commander Err," he said, his voice a natural echo.
"Galaxy Altharion," Ultimate Commander Err replied, and this time, White could actually feel a shift in aura from the Ultimate Commander.
When he spoke, he usually carried an aura of supremacy that immediately signaled he was of higher standing, but right now, there was an unexplainable sense of respect in his tone as he addressed the golden man, before turning to White.
"Meet White Sinclaw, a prospective recruit of the Elite Galaxial Exploration Squad," he introduced.
The man finally turned to White, scanning him quietly.
"White, meet Galaxy Altharion, one of humanity’s true Galaxy Ranked Awakeners."
Even in two lives, this was the first time White had ever seen a Galaxy Rank in person, and the feeling of standing before one was beyond awe-inspiring.
"It’s my first time seeing a Galaxy Ranked Awakener in person," White said, unable to contain his awe.
On the other hand, Galaxy Altharion’s eyes narrowed as he stared at White.
"His body holds an extreme brute force that borders on the Galaxy level itself, but he is unadapted to it, and his aura is greatly impure."
The man spoke, his words sounding more robotic in their echo than human.
That made it difficult to read any emotion in them at all, leaving no one certain whether he was complimenting or simply analyzing.
"There’s a lot you’ll come to learn about him, Galaxy Altharion. But for now, I was hoping he could be a recruit member for the Elite Galaxial Exploration Squad, especially one under your personal squad: Astral Guard Exploration Squad," he added.
There was a long, deep silence before the golden man spoke.
"He will have to take the test like the rest. If he passes, he will be a member of the EGES."
He then turned to Ultimate Commander Err.
"As for joining my squad, that will be based on my and only my choice alone."
"Very well."
Ultimate Commander Err said before turning to White.
"We’ll meet again soon, White."
White walked towards the golden door in the room, preparing to follow after Galaxy Altharion.
"I was thinking you’d ask me not to cause trouble."
He replied as a deep chuckle left Ultimate Commander Err’s lips.
"Oh, I’m not worried anymore. Those up there are more than capable of handling your troubles."
He said just as White stepped into the door, disappearing.
That left just Ultimate Commander Err and Galaxy Altharion, who also stepped forward but paused at the last second, turning slightly to give Ultimate Commander Err a side glance.
"I don’t want him dead, Galaxy Altharion."
Those were his last words before Galaxy Altharion also stepped into the door, disappearing out of the hall.
_________
The feeling of teleportation was a longer one this time.
According to White’s estimation, he must have been in the wormhole for about twenty seconds before finally being ejected, only to find himself falling to the ground.
Looking around, there were clouds, golden in color, all around him and everywhere his eyes turned.
All of a sudden, his falling motion paused as he stood rooted in the air as if he had landed on the ground.
Turning his head up, he found two beams of golden light shining down onto him.
It was none other than Galaxy Altharion, who locked eye contact with him for two seconds before suddenly flashing into the sky, becoming a beam of light that quickly disappeared from White’s sight.
"He’s quite fast..."
White mused beneath his breath.
RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!
The sharp sound of something ripping rang out, and in the next moment,
CRAAACK!
SHATTTERRRR!
Space around White shattered apart as White’s wings shook once, and he burst up into the sky with insane speed.
"What the!?"
Even White was shocked speechless by his speed as he quickly tried to bring himself to a stop.
[Your entire body benefited from your increase in strength... including your wings too.]
The system panel flashed, explaining the reason for the sudden burst of strength.
"Oh?"
White mused, preparing to resume his flight, when all of a sudden, he froze, turning his head up.
"Huh?"
He looked away, turning to the sides, even sending his perception all around, but there was nothing.
"He’s... He’s gone?"
He couldn’t find Galaxy Altharion anymore. Not even his aura, as if he had simply disappeared from this place.
"Where exactly is this?"
White mused, turning his eyes to look deeply at his surroundings, most especially beneath him.
His eyes easily pierced through the layers of clouds, but no matter how long he expanded his perception, there was nothing but clouds.
Even down ten thousand meters beneath White, there was still nothing but clouds.
No ground, no water, just clouds.
And turning his head up, the same was easily true, though he couldn’t help but notice there was an abnormality, and that was that no matter how much he tried to expand his senses up into the sky, it never extended beyond one thousand meters, as if something was blocking his perception up there.
It was all confusing at first, but then a grin opened at the corner of his lips.
"Never thought it would start so soon..."
