SSS-Class Summoner: I only Summon Primordial Spirits
Chapter 16—Revenge
Sitting in a cross-legged position, Laden activated the tattoo, and after the bout of extreme sensitivity, he felt a raging heat.
"I am back there," he said without a smile, without even opening his eyes.
Laden didn’t waste any time and opened his eyes to check his surroundings for the wolves, but what he saw immediately shocked him.
The spirit world now looked completely different from what it was before; the lush green and vibrant surroundings were gone; now the ground was extremely bare and dark.
Some areas even looked especially dark, as if they were rotting, which made Laden open his mouth in shock.
"Don’t tell me those wolves did that," Laden said worriedly.
"Obviously they did; that’s what the presence of Corrupted beasts does to the Spirit World,"
"And that’s why they need to be taken care of as soon as possible," Prime urged.
Laden finally got the full gist, and with a determined gaze, he turned all around him to see if he could see any of the corrupted wolf beasts.
"They must be in these pits of fire," Laden muttered as he looked at the fiery spots in the surroundings.
"Let’s begin then," he said as Prime merged with him, producing blue fur on his hands and legs.
Without wasting time, Laden rushed into the nearest pit of flames without any fear on his face.
The whole day he used in training had helped him gain a bit more confidence and even increased their available time of merging back up to nine minutes.
Laden felt the familiar stinging pain from the flames, but he didn’t pay attention to it; instead, he rushed further in fearlessly.
Since he was charging through the flames, Laden didn’t take too much time before he arrived at the center of the not-so-big pit.
The instant he arrived, the Wolf-like Corrupted beast instantly noticed his presence, but instead of directly attacking, it did something much different.
The Corrupted beast rose to its feet and howled loudly at the sky, alerting the others.
Laden pupils shrank inward upon seeing that he had planned to try to take them out one at a time as fast as possible since he saw them separated.
But now all of those plans have been completely shattered; now all he could do was fight them all at once.
"Let them come; this one isn’t scared," Prime said arrogantly.
Since he knew time was counting, Laden didn’t waste time and charged straight at the lone beast in front of him. He didn’t give it any time to think and instead instantly arrived in front of it and grabbed it by the neck.
He hadn’t forgotten about their special healing capabilities, so he wanted to kill them as cleanly as possible.
Exerting as much strength as possible, Laden bent the neck at an extremely strange angle, snapping it like a twig before dropping the lifeless body.
"That was fast," Prime said.
"I guess I am stronger than you think," Laden said with a smile.
Prime was just about to respond when they noticed more presences in the clearing.
"They are here," Laden muttered.
Around him stood six wolves that stared at him with so much ferocity. The fact that one of their kind was lying dead on the ground even made them more angry.
But Instead of just attacking blindly, the Six wolves shuffled around before showing what looked to be a formation.
"Damn, they are organized, but which of them is the leader?" he thought while paying extra attention.
The Corrupted beast formation was pretty advanced as Laden observed two beasts approaching him from both sides.
"Damn, what do I do?" he thought while being a bit flustered.
"They mustn’t kill me again," he shouted.
He turned to the pair that looked to be closer to him and charged straight at them.
He arrived in front of the two wolves, and the two of them also lunged at him from different sides.
Using one of the many combat techniques he was given access to, Laden sent a palm straight to one of the beasts, sending it backwards to buy time while he used a second hand to grab the second one.
In one fluid motion, Laden used the beast in his hand as some sort of stick and slammed it towards the other two beasts.
The beasts were approaching so fast that they couldn’t stop in time, resulting in them being cleanly hit.
The force behind the impact was so great that Laden was sure he could hear their bones cracking.
While he temporarily took care of four beasts, from the side of his eyes, Laden observed the other two beasts lunging straight at him from opposite directions.
"Damn," he cursed under his breath.
Moving as fast as he could, Laden left the path of the lunging beast but unfortunately appeared in front of the beast he had attacked with the palm before.
The beast didn’t hesitate; it opened its jaw wide to sink its teeth straight into Laden’s leg.
"Haaaaa," Laden and Prime shouted at the same time.
"Freaking dog."
While still in pain, Laden grabbed onto the beast and snapped its neck cleanly, releasing his legs as blood oozed out.
"Watch out," Prime suddenly shouted, alerting Laden.
But Laden wasn’t able to react fast enough; another tooth sunk deeply into his shoulder.
"Why are these guys so ferocious?" Laden cursed while he tried to wrestle out of the bite.
He wasn’t done with that when another wolf began approaching from the side.
"Try using Spirit Domination," Prime shouted.
Laden instantly followed Prime’s suggestion and activated the last ability he was granted. He felt a massive amount of his Spirit Energy drain while an ominous figure took shape around behind him.
Laden’s face was immediately full of smiles as he watched the beasts freeze in their spot. From what he saw, he knew they were going to break through soon, but that small amount of time was enough.
Using all of the speed and strength he had left, Laden rushed all around the Clearing snapping the necks of each beast one at a time.
By the time he was on the last one, the effect of his ability had already worn off, but he managed to overpower it quickly and kill it.
"I am finally done," he said while exhaling and looking at the multiple dead corrupted beasts around him.
It was at that instant that Laden felt something strange in his body, something he hadn’t felt before.
"What the hell is that?" he thought in fear.
