Dark clouds were taking over the sunny sky, and the wind again started to become intense.

"What is happening here?" Emi lifted her neck and asked. Her glistening with tears.

"Idk, maybe it’s all just a bad drea..."

"Roar!"

My words were cut in the middle by the terrifying roar coming from behind. As I turned around, I saw Mink being blown past me, crashing through multiple trees. His tiny body went deep into the woods, leaving a clear sign of destruction.

"An Ascendant-tier demonic ape. It seems we really underestimated the danger here." I heard Adrine speak.

"Roar!"

I covered Emi’s head and watched the little monkey in front of me, growing in size, from a few inches to a 12-foot-tall monster. His body got muscled up, his teeth grew longer, his tail became thicker, and his eyes turned crimson. The fur on his body slowly began to take the shape of the intricate tattoos.

"Looks like he is at the awakened grade," Adrine spoke again, his voice still didn’t show panic, which implied that he had a way to deal with this demonic monkey.

"It’s not," a calm rang out in the air, as the black-dressed man walked towards the monkey, who was about to complete his transformation.

I felt like I had become the audience while this guy was taking over the show, which I again didn’t like.

"Chee... cha... roar~"

The monkey was going crazy, as he was smashing his own chest like an idiot. His roar shook the entire forest.

"Chee... Cheee..."

"Chee... Cheee..."

"Chee... Cheee..."

"..."

His voice suddenly began to ring all around in our surroundings, causing my heart to sink, as I got a bad premonition about it. Dealing with one monkey could be a thing, but multiple towering monkeys, I doubt, if we could leave alive.

Soon, the leaves began rustling in our surroundings. In less than a few seconds, all of us were surrounded by a very large group of black monkeys.

"I guess I was wrong, this creature is at a ruler grade demon," Adrine again spoke out, as if he was deliberately speaking out the grades and ranks, to check how much I know about these demons.

I narrowed my eyes and looked at Mink, who already appeared on my shoulder. His body was covered in scratches, as his obsidian black eyes stared at the demon monkey hatefully.

Of course, this little demon was hellishly smart, not daring to attack the monkey alone.

By now, that guy was already standing in front of the monkey, and with dark clouds devouring the sun, their confrontation looked actually dangerous. While no one had made a move yet.

"His name is Ron, we are like brothers, you don’t need to worry, we will deal with this monster together." Adrine patted my shoulder, telling me the guy’s name.

Emi, who had buried her head into my chest, also turned to him, staring at his handsome face while blushing a little, as she said, "Thanks~ for..."

"Shut up, don’t make a sound, or this monkey will jump straight at us." I interrupted their small talk, pulling her head into my chest.

"Don’t worry, these monkeys are just low-tier demons; they are no threat to us. Hehe..." Adrine took out a white feather fan from his waist. Unfolding the fan, he began grinning. I found his cheeky smile rather ugly, as I was barely controlling myself from hitting his face.

Suddenly, a loud bang sounded through the forest, followed by the terrifying aftershock, which always blew us away.

In front of us, the monkey and Ron stood in the centre, staring into each other’s eyes, their fists collided in the middle of the air. Surprisingly, despite being less than half the size of the demonic monkey, Ron matched his strength head-on, without taking a step back.

"Chee... cha..."

As their collision took place, all the monkeys that had been blown by the aftershock rushed towards us like a flooding water.

As if it wasn’t enough, the lightning also began to fall on the ground, followed by the heavy downpour.

At this moment, I finally began to panic a little. I was planning to escape this place as soon as possible, but the monkeys were coming for us. I checked all four directions, but there was no way to escape for us.

"Kill as many as you can. I will give you a candy for every monkey you hunt." I turned to Mink and offered him generously. After all, all I knew was using hellfire to burn down everything; I still didn’t have any fighting skills.

"Che... Cha..."

Mink quickly got happy at my offer, and the next instant, all I saw was the crimson light flashing across the monkey group, and all of them fell on the ground instantly. They either got their heart ripped apart, or their head exploded, unlike that ascended grade monkey, this horde of monkeys was even weaker than those wolves, Mink killed in the hell plane.

"You got quite an amazing pet, what’s his name?" Adrine spoke, not really shocked by what Mink had just done, nor was he worried about Ron fighting that monkey demon head-on.

"His name is Mink," I replied as I wanted to get information about this ranks and grades system. Though I can already guess roughly, knowing it clearly would be better. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

"Nice name," he replied, and said, "You still haven’t introduced yourself."

I looked at his face for a second and replied, "Call me Ricky."

Hearing my reply, his eyes shifted to Emi. I was clearly able to see that overly warm smile on his face; the more casual he acted, the more I hated him.

This place should have been my aura farming place, but with these two joining in, the impact I created on Emi with my powers wouldn’t leave the mark as deep as I wanted.
