SSS Grade Pervert: I Rule The World
Chapter 29: Plan
"What do you mean by that?" Selina asked back, her eyes serious after hearing Adrine’s words. Despite his casual tone, it was clear that things were really dangerous here.
After all, it was clear Sabrina herself shouldn’t be much behind Ron and Adrine, or they won’t even take notice of her.
"I mean, take a deep breath, and enjoy this vacation and wait till your family elders come and save you," Adrine replied calmly.
"We are not on vacation here; the entire city is under attack by some Ruler Grade Demon, and you think this is a vacation." Alex, who had been standing beside Selina, roared with his heroic spirit.
"Ruler Grade... Haha..." Adrine burst out laughing and sat on the floor, and he spoke, after controlling his laughter, "Tell me, how many ruler grade demon two of you had hunted in your lifetime?"
"So, what if we haven’t hunted a single ruler-grade demon, but Sabrina had already hunted two ruler-grade demons, on her own." Alex puffed up his cheeks as he announced. This guy, I have to admit, was really annoying with his voice.
"Oh... She killed two ruler grade, and still got captured. Why do you think someone like us, who had never hunted a single demon alone, can do to save her?" Adrine replied, making Alex swallow his next words.
"..."
After the silence of a few seconds, everyone finally sat down, but I didn’t show any interest in joining in their conversation, and neither did Emi.
"Senior, can you tell us the rank of this demon and how strong he actually is?" Selina asked Adrine politely.
None of them was even sparing me a glance, making me realise that I need to leave some impact on the world, instead of helping without taking credit for it.
"Your power is amazing; you don’t really have to be jealous of him." Emi patted my back, her words catching me off guard. I turned to look at her. Her eyes were slightly red, from exhaustion, though she did nothing, but for a normal person without any talent, all of this was still way too tiring.
"Of course, I am way more powerful than anyone here." I snorted at her and lay on the floor beside her.
"If you really want to know, then I will tell you. So, according to what we know, the demon behind this chaos is at the Ascendant Rank, planning his promotion to Sacred Rank through the sacrifice of us all, and his grade is also pretty high as an Overlord."
"Overlord, Sacred..." Alex repeated.
"Yup," Adrine nodded in affirmation.
"Senior, stop joking around. Throughout the history of our clans, there have only been 3 Overlord Grade Beasts. How could one appear here all of a sudden?" Alex said, squinting his eyes at Adrine as if he was making fun of them.
"There are actually 4, and now 5," Adrine corrected him, with a mocking smile on his face.
The room was silent once again.
"So, we are caught in a trap of the overlord-grade demon, who is planning to ascend," Selina spoke each word with caution. I could feel how horrified she was. Her back was already covered in sweat, and her hands were shaking, as she was barely trying to act composed.
From her reaction, I knew I was overestimating these ancient clans. I had made my assumption on the reaction of Ron and Adrine. But now, I am doubtful about following the two of them around.
"It can’t be... You are trying to scare us, I know," Alex pointed his finger at Adrine, as he roared, his voice unusually loud.
"See, this is the reason why I don’t like talking with kids," Adrine looked at him and sighed.
"Alex! Calm down," Selina roared at him, trying to stop him from getting panicked, and for me, this was really an eye-opener. The more panicked he became, the more serious the situation looked to me. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"Sister! Do you believe him? There hadn’t been a single Overlord-grade monster in the past hundred years. How could one randomly appear out of nowhere in this random mountain range, without anyone knowing?" Alex roared in a loud voice, his body shaking in denial of the horror.
"Shut up..." Finally, Ron opened his mouth, getting us a few seconds of silence.
"If you believe it or not, have nothing to do with me, you can either stay here with your mouth shut, or go out and do whatever you want," Adrine also got a little serious, from his initial playfulness.
Alex didn’t have the guts to open his mouth anymore and sat beside Selina.
We got calm moments, as everyone took a few deep breaths and sat in the circle.
"Hey, aren’t you two..." As we sat together, Alex finally noticed us, but do we need recognition?
"We didn’t." I denied his words before he could finish them, and said to everyone, "Okay, now tell me if you guys have any way out, or not. And what are the chances of your family coming to save us in time, and can they deal with the overlord-grade monster or not?"
"If you forget anything, you can add it too," Adrine added, though I get his words he was complaining about me asking too many things, but now I need to make the decision, which will ensure my and Emi’s survival.
"That is enough," I replied.
"Let’s see, I will be honest, there is a high chance they will make it on time, and be here to save us. But the problem is that I don’t think whoever comes to save me will be able to deal with a half-step sacred rank overlord." Adrine said, looking a little honest to me.
"As for the way out, all we could do was try to get a way to leave this ritual site, once the elder got engaged in battle with the demon. He should be able to buy us enough time to escape. What do you think of this plan?"
