Chapter 34: B-rank with base stats alone

Leon stared intently at the floating blue screen, a wave of profound emotion washing over his mind as he looked at the massive stat jumps.

He clenched his fists, feeling the incredible density of the muscles under his skin.

’An SSS-rank talent is really and truly awesome! It seriously feels like I am living inside a beautiful dream right now...’

He had only leveled up twice since entering the C-rank gate, yet all of his attributes had automatically increased by a eighteen points.

He had also gained a massive thirty-six free attribute points to distribute manually, bringing his total unallocated attribute points to a whopping forty.

Going completely by his raw stats alone at this very moment, he could be confidently said to be on the exact same physical level as an elite B-rank player already, despite still being at level 6.

When the legendary divine sword Excalibur was finally added into the actual combat factor, along with all of its massive passive multipliers and active transformation states, his true power level had definitely reached if not completely crossed the legendary realm of an S-rank player!

He looked away from the translucent screen, his golden eyes narrowing slightly beneath the deep shadow of his thick black hoodie as his burning ambition flared up once again.

’But this is still not enough for what I plan to achieve... I can grow even more, and I will become infinitely stronger than this!’ he thought.

He moved confidently forward down the quiet pathway, taking a sharp turn at the very end of the rocky cave structure.

There, he saw another orange gate standing completely erect in the middle of a wide stone archway.

This specific internal orange gate had a noticeably lighter shade of color compared to the dark, chaotic one he had previously jumped through on the earth’s surface streets.

The magical energy radiating from its smooth surface was far more stable, pulsating with a gentle hum that softly illuminated the dark corners of the rock formation.

It also wasn’t vibrating violently at all like the outer gate, and it completely lacked any of the terrifying, unstable spatial cracks around its edges.

This was the specific spatial gate that led directly to the next floor of the dungeon, a dangerous zone where mutated sabertooth tigers even tougher, larger, and more ferocious than the ten ones he had just easily faced were known to roam freely.

It was the true starting point of the hazard zone, where ordinary raid parties usually began to suffer heavy casualties.

He didn’t hesitate, walking straight through the thick, swirling orange light of the barrier without a single trace of fear.

The familiar, brief sensation of spatial teleportation washed over his consciousness once again before he reappeared safely in another deep cavern that looked highly similar to the first one he had landed in.

The only major physical difference he could immediately notice about this new subterranean area was that this cave was quite significantly larger in scale, with the ceiling towering dozens of meters above his head.

Furthermore, the jagged rocks and stone boulders forming the walls had a distinct, deep reddish hue to them, glowing faintly in the dark as if they were constantly baked by an invisible, underground volcanic heat.

There were also significantly more sabertooths residing here on this second floor, reaching exactly thirteen in total number scattered across the massive red-hued cavern.

The formidable pack formed a dense wall of muscle and fur, blocking the only forward path that led deeper into the dungeon.

Their razor-sharp fangs were visibly slightly thicker than those of the monsters he had just faced on the previous floor, looking like heavy ivory daggers capable of crushing steel armor with a single bite.

Their furs were also noticeably thicker and more rugged, covered in dense, dark stripes that seemed to absorb the faint orange light radiating from the hot, reddish stone walls.

[C-rank Sabertooth Tiger]

Despite their slightly enhanced physical features and tougher hides, their baseline rank hadn’t shifted, meaning they were still within his current hunting capabilities.

The entire pack of thirteen beasts growled fiercely at Leon in unison, their deep, rumbling voices vibrating through the rocky floor and echoing loudly off the high ceiling.

They bared their thick fangs aggressively before charging straight at him at full speed without a single moment’s rest, their massive claws tearing up chunks of the red stone.

Leon narrowed his eyes into sharp slits, his focus locking entirely onto the incoming wave of striped predators.

Instead of waiting for them to close the distance or trying to defend himself, he tightly gripped his legendary weapon and went on the offensive, dashing forward towards them with explosive speed as well.

A few minutes later...

The chaotic sounds of battle had completely died down, leaving the vast cavern in absolute silence once again.

Leon was currently standing completely alone on the stone floor, his posture perfectly straight as thirteen fresh sabertooth tiger corpses surrounded him in a wide, messy circle of destruction.

He panted slightly, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm as he recovered his breath after the intense, fast-paced melee engagement.

The legendary sword Excalibur was still shining incredibly brightly in his right hand, its blade completely pristine and pulsing with a soft, comforting golden light.

A familiar, rapid sequence of translucent system notifications immediately began blinking continuously across his vision, stacking up neatly over one another.

The massive accumulation of experience points from clearing out thirteen monsters all at once easily filled his EXP bar to the brim, triggering another level up.

[Level up! You’re now level 7!]

[Level up rewards: +9 points allocated to each attributes, +18 points free attributes granted]

However, despite the fact that he had just levelled up, gaining another increase in power, a deep frustrated frown remained firmly etched on his face.

He kept waiting, but then, nothing happened still, and his expression worsened.
