Sonia stopped as she looked at Roman who was staring at her.

Both of them exchanged a look; Roman had no idea why, but it seemed like he knew her from somewhere, he just had no idea where.

"The pillar!!" Sonia muttered in a tiny voice as she began walking towards Roman but was immediately stopped by Victoria and Evelyn.

"You shouldn't push your luck, you can't win, and if you think Avalon would join forces with criminals, then that staff must have corrupted your brain" Victoria spoke.

Unlike before when Sonia's powers were all over the place, now it looked like she had them under control, and both Victoria and Evelyn knew they couldn't win her in a fight then, but this time it was different, they had too many things to lose.

"As I've said, I only came to talk, if I wanted to attack anyone here, I would have landed in front, kill them, and then take my leave, and to answer the questions in your head, you won't be able to stop me" Sonia spoke as she walked backwards a little.

The Queen walked towards Victoria and Evelyn, even she could feel the power radiating off Sonia, of course, she could also feel Victoria and Evelyn, and both of them were ready for battle.

"Your Majesty, you shouldn't be so close" Evelyn said.

"She would have killed me if she wanted, I can tell that much, can both of you stop her if you tried" The Queen whispered.

"I have no idea" Evelyn replied.

"So what is this proposal of yours?" The Queen spoke.

"We should talk privately, also I don't like standing out in the sun so maybe under there" Sonia spoke pointing to the shade where the Queen stays.

"Also you can tell everyone to leave, and bring more guards if you still think I'm going to attack, but I want both of you, the Queen and that male to stay and listen to what I have to say" Sonia spoke.

"Absolutely not, the male goes along with the rest of the students" The Queen replied firmly without hesitation.

"Why do you think a student needs to hear what you have to say?" Evelyn asked.

"When I begin, you will know why, and this is for the benefit of the world" Sonia spoke before closing her eyes.

"We are not letting Roman stay, why would she want him to stay, it's not safe, and I still don't trust anything she's saying" Victoria turned to Evelyn as she spoke.

"She wants to attack Vernhall, is that even possible, you saw her strength the last time, is it possible?" The Queen asked both of them.

"We still don't know if it's possible, but she does have remarkable strength because of that artifact in her hands, but I still don't think it's possible" Evelyn replied.

"Tell everyone to leave, except the male, I want to hear what she has to say" The Queen spoke.

Victoria signaled to five guards and they walked towards her, after that the guards evacuated everyone there except Roman.

The students weren't taken back inside the palace; instead, they were taken outside to somewhere unknown while the rest of the nobles went off to their various houses.

The Queen would have to explain to the council after everything is over, but Roman was glad he didn't leave, he had questions to ask.

"The Queen has agreed to talk, but you'll have to keep your artifact away, and be locked under a barrier?" Evelyn spoke.

"I agree, as I've said, I didn't come here to fight,x Sonia spoke before placing her staff on the ground and walking away from it.

The group was now under a large shade, Roman and the Queen were behind, while Victoria and Evelyn sat in front, Royal guards littered the entire place and Sonia sat down, her face expressionless.

"What do you know about the artifacts?" She asked.

"I thought you wanted to talk about attacking Vernhall?" Victoria asked.

"Everything would come in place, but first what do you know about the artifacts?"

"It chooses the individual who wields it, that and the powers it increases, what does the artifacts have to do with..."

"The artifacts are people" Sonia spoke and the four of them reeled back in surprise.

"What do you mean the artifacts are people? They are artifacts, inanimate objects that contain large amounts of mana?" The Queen spoke.

"Yes, that is what most people think and they would be right, but no, the artifacts were once humans, all ten of them" Sonia spoke.

"There are ten artifacts?" Evelyn muttered.

'Wait a minute, the artifacts were once humans, all ten of them, that dream I had about the founder, they were ten people with him, coincidence...I should hear more before concluding'

"How do you know there are ten artifacts, they were seven known artifacts, before you discovered the staff, where are the other two?" The Queen asked.

"Waiting for the right people, as I said the artifacts were once humans and their soul remains, it is that soul that chooses who wields it, but before that, let me tell you a little about the history of the world" Sonia spoke.

"Almost a thousand years ago, a great battle took place in Vernhall which almost destroyed the land, humans vs demons"

"The founder and ten others lead the charge as the strongest human mages, the history books were all wrong because not one of them lived to talk about the battle, every single human who went there died there in one way or another" Sonia continued.

"The demons were more powerful in Vernhall since it was their natural habitat, but the most powerful of them all was the Demon Queen"

"Wait...the leader of the demons is a female?" Roman asked.

"You said no human survived, you mean to tell me the founder was killed, the history books said he lived till..."

"The history books are wrong, and the founder wasn't killed, he did something to himself and the others"
