Chapter 228 Broken History [Part 2]
"You said no human survived, you mean to tell me the founder was killed, you should know the history books said he lived till..."
"The history books are wrong, and the founder wasn't killed, he did something to himself and the others, remember when I said the artifacts are humans, all the artifacts were humans who fought alongside the founder" Sonia replied.
"Wait...the humans who fought were turned into artifacts by the founder, is that what you're saying?" Victoria asked.
"Yes, the founder knew he couldn't win, not against the demon queen and her generals, some of the generals were killed then, but with the power of the founder and all ten of his top mages, all their powers were combined to seal the demon queen away" Sonia spoke.
"With the demon queen sealed away, the strength of demons was gone, most died away but the powerful ones held on in the shadows waiting for the return of the demon queen, the seal is close to breaking, hence the attacks and strength of demons" Sonia spoke.
"Wait...so the founder sacrificed himself along with others to ensure the demon queen is sealed away, and the other ten turned into artifacts, you expect us to believe your story?" Evelyn replied.
"I don't expect you to believe me, I'm simply explaining the broken history of this world, since the demon queen seal is close to breaking, all the pieces are already in place. Soon, all the artifacts will select their wielder, and the last piece is already here"
"The last piece, what is the last piece?" The Queen asked.
"The pillar of magic...the reincarnation of the founder" Sonia said pointing to Roman.
"The what?" Victoria mouthed.
'Shit... So my conclusion is correct, all ten of them I saw gathered around the table were turned into artifacts, probably by the book the founder found, he knew it was going to happen, that was why he didn't tell them'
'So even the founder couldn't defeat the demon queen, the best choice was to seal her, and now she's breaking the seal, how the fuck am I supposed to do anything about that?' Roman mumbled to himself not realizing everyone there was staring at him.
"There's something wrong with your story, that is what if everything is a lie, and even if it isn't, parts of it are lies" Evelyn spoke.
"There's also the big question, how does she know so much about the history of the world?" Victoria spoke.
"The artifacts still have souls in them as I've said, and with that, you can actually communicate with them, and not just them, you can communicate with past wielders of the artifacts, every step bringing you closer to the truth of this world" Sonia replied.
"She's telling the truth, maybe not the complete truth but part of it is true" Roman finally joined the conversation.
"How would you know parts of it are true, unless..." The Queen stopped.
"I've been having dreams about the founder, and I've also seen the people who turned into artifacts, I didn't see their battle, just their planning before the battle" Roman spoke.
"You've been having dreams about the founder, and you didn't think to tell me?" Victoria shouted.
"I didn't think it was that important, also I have no idea what the founder looks like, so it could just be nothing, but it got more and more real each time" Roman replied keeping his cool.
"So because of this you want to attack Vernhall?" The Queen asked.
"The demon stronghold is still Vernhall, when the seal breaks and the demon queen is free, she would lay waste to the entire world as I was told"
Sonia continued "So we should strike now, eliminate every demon there, and kill the remaining generals before the seal breaks, or else we'll have the same problem the founder had"
"So suddenly a criminal obtains a powerful artifact and turns into a warrior for humanity" Evelyn chuckled.
"The Blood Fangs were branded criminals because we were free, free to move without kneeling to kingdoms or noble families," Sonia spoke calmly.
"We stole, fought, and survived however we could, so naturally the kingdoms called us criminals. I'm not saying we're innocent, we've done terrible things, things I won't try to justify."
"Like attacking a kingdom to steal an artifact?" Victoria asked.
"The artifacts called to Karen, at first I was surprised, I thought the artifacts only chose the worthy, as it turns out she was worthy of its powers"
"The artifacts didn't speak to her then, because it wasn't time yet, but now the time has come"
Sonia looked directly at the Queen.
"Humanity won't get a second chance" She spoke.
"So you plan to gather our armies to attack Vernhall, you should know it's almost impossible to invade with an entire army, Vernhall is corrupted, the air is polluted, it's almost impossible to pull a large-scale invasion, and why would Avalon surrender its armies?"
"Have you gone to the other kingdoms, you haven't because you would be attacked without spewing a single word, but because you couldn't touch Avalon then, you decided now is the time to use that to your advantage, do you think we're stupid" The Queen spoke as she stood up.
"It seems you still don't understand the gravity of the situation, what do I need to do to convince you?" Sonia asked but before the Queen could replied she held her head as she felt a sharp pain followed by a voice.
'Switch with me'
The next moment, Sonia's eyes turned completely green.
Her hair flared as an enormous wave of mana burst out from her body, shaking the entire arena. The pressure alone made a difference as everyone could feel it.
Then a voice spoke, but it was no longer Sonia's.
"YOU PATHETIC HUMANS… DO YOU WANT HUMANITY TO BE ON THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION AGAIN?"
The voice thundered across the arena like an explosion, carrying a pressure that made everyone's hearts shake.
Victoria and Evelyn reacted instantly, their mana erupting as they stepped in front of the Queen and Roman.
"Protect the Queen!" Evelyn shouted.
Royal guards rushed forward from every direction, but suddenly they froze.
The artifacts that had been kept far away began to tremble violently before shooting through the air toward Sonia as if being called by an invisible force.
One after another, the Royal guards appeared around her. Then she raised a single hand and the ground cracked.
Dark chains made entirely of bone burst upward across the arena like living snakes. The chains moved unnaturally fast, wrapping around all the Royal guards before slamming them violently to the ground.
Victoria and Evelyn were no exception as the chains locked them down.
Some tried to cast spells, but more chains rose from beneath them, twisting around their arms, legs, and bodies, locking them down completely.
Victoria had already used her shadow warriors but massive bone chains wrapped around them as well, forcing them to the ground too.
Within seconds, almost everyone in the arena had been restrained.
Only the Queen... and Roman were left untouched.
