Chapter 1795: Acting in Concert (II)
“Our chance is at hand once we take down the four regions,” intoned the Dragon master. “The Skyward master ascended to ninth rank within the four! If we are able to seize the eighth rank worlds, take New Martial and Skyward... then ninth rank is only a matter of time!
“We march in three days! We will set forth with grand fanfare to tell the four regions that Dragon major world is here! That will also tell the scum in the shadows that in my absence, they can run wild in the region!
“I hope that the world outside will look different by the time we return!” The Dragon master grinned. “I also hope that the little cockroaches of the region will be handled by then as well. My strength alone does not mean the strength of all chaos beasts. We need everyone to work in tandem. I look forward to seeing whether Phoenix is able to give me a satisfactory answer regarding Thunder World and the monster spirits in the region.”
“The Dragon master is unrivaled! Victory is assured!” The seventh ranks cheered with controlled enthusiasm, like they were fans at a concert. This was a very rare sight indeed.
Seventh ranks were long past the stage of needing to curry favor with someone, but here they were, fanatic about the speaker!
The Dragon master threw his head back with laughter. One did not need to worry about the viability of one’s enterprise with this kind of morale backing!
There are no ninth ranks among chaos beasts, so I... will be the first ninth rank powerhouse! We will no longer be chaos beasts. ‘Beast’ is a derogatory label. By then, humans will be the beasts! The chaos race will be the most noble and lofty of races!
......
Around the intersection of Dragon and Phoenix territory.
All worlds received word that Phoenix major world had sent them a new territory leader. Most of them ignored the message.
A new leader?
In Dragon Region, the Dragon master was the ultimate leader, then the master of major worlds. And then...
Everyone was the same. Was there anyone more elevated than the rest?
Of course, those who were strong were still highly respected. But since when did a fifth rank count as a leader among them?
I’ll pay some attention to you if I give you some face. What are you going to do if I don’t? Kill me for it? Who dared to kill exalted emperors in the region without the Dragon master’s express permission?
The Exalted Black Dog Emperor was a fifth rank—that was the information about their new manager. He wasn’t a direct Phoenix subordinate, but a wanderer from the other three regions.
All chaos beasts were wanderers, they were just a rare sight in Dragon Region these days. They’d learned to put down roots in the worlds. This was a change brought about by the Dragon master.
None of the world masters were interested in a meeting. A world was a wonderful thing. Although chaos beasts could move with their worlds, it was an exceedingly tiring prospect to do so. Under normal conditions, they typically stayed put.
If they were to make a meeting now, they would have to bring their world with them. How tiring!
The prospect grew much more enticing when Phoenix Mountain shared another piece of news. Black Dog had received a reward of a sixth rank world from the Phoenix princess. He was here to devour it and might exude a great deal of world strength in the process.
Setting mid ranks aside, a sixth rank world was the limit a low rank could aspire to. Any stronger would mean that the world was fit for a sovereign and as such, would never go to them.
World masters that hadn’t planned on attending the meeting swallowed their worlds and moved toward the center of the region. This was the biggest advantage to chaos beasts.
I can move anytime!
Regular first ranks would find it very difficult to move a first rank world. Even if they did so, they could only move one inch at a time or eliminate all of the life forms within, then compress the world. It was very hard to move the complete world otherwise.
Chaos beasts enjoyed a unique advantage in this area.
......
The quiet intersection between the Dragon and Phoenix spheres of influence began to stir with activity. Chaos beasts that couldn’t be bothered to stir themselves shifted their ponderous bodies toward the center of the area.
Some worlds that fell within Dragon’s sphere of influence also received word. But since it wasn’t part of Dragon territory, they weren’t at liberty to join. What a pity.
......
At the same time.
As the world masters shifted into motion, the massive Dragon major world began to move as well. Instead of the Dragon master swallowing it, four gigantic dragons flew out to shoulder it and acted as its bearers!
Contrary to typical chaos beast style, the Dragon master did not revert to his primary form and devour the world to travel quietly with it. Instead, he created great pomp and circumstance!
The four dragons were in their primary forms and carried a Dragon major world that retained its full size. Each dragon was ten thousand meters long and snaked through the firmament. Although they were minuscule compared to the rest of the world, such massive dragons were a very rare sight. These dramatic forms were normally not on display.
Each dragon was in charge of a cardinal direction and hoisted the eighth rank world upward. They glided through the void, sweeping majestically through every location they arrived at. Dragon major world was officially marching into battle!
Countless dragons hovered outside the world, all of them exalted emperors. There were hundreds of exalted emperors in the major world! Their procession moved with such fanfare that it was as if they wished to proclaim it far and wide that Dragon major world was about to launch a campaign.
......
On Li Hao’s side.
Silver Moon world stood in the void. As a precaution, he placed it inside the sixth rank world that Feng Yan had given him. It looked to be a regular sixth rank world of the water attribute from the outside.
This was normal as the combination of two worlds was not just to devour one of them, but to strengthen the weaker world as well. No one would look twice at what Li Hao had done. This would also prevent passing exalted emperors from seeing the truth at hand when they took a cursory look.
Silver Moon was a very ordinary world; what was unusual about it was its dao universe. As a further failsafe from exposure, Void and Number Two were in charge of concealing and corralling the twin dao universes.
Li Hao postulated that the Dragon master would head to the battlefield in Blazing Sun Region. So although his territory wasn’t along the way, it was still exceedingly dangerous if the Dragon master decided to pass through this direction. If the eighth rank decided to delve into this world on a whim... then Li Hao was completely done for.
The young man was gambling, betting that the Dragon master wouldn’t be of a mindset to probe this mid world even if he passed by. The greater a personage, the more they cared about their dignity. An overlord such as the Dragon master would take pains to be benevolent and amiable to his subjects...
It was those lower on the totem pole who liked to adopt a condescending tone and abuse their power. The higher an executive was, the more approachable they were. Assuming, of course, that one did not get on their bad side. If that was the case, middle management wouldn’t be able to do anything, but the movers and shakers would immediately obliterate the offender!
Such was reality.
Hence, Li Hao wasn’t too concerned about the Dragon master passing by. He was more worried that some tyrannical sixth ranks traveling through the area would insist on conducting an investigation to prove their might.
Those kinds of people were very annoying indeed.
Outside the world, Li Hao continued to occupy Panther’s body. He fixed his gaze in the distance, seeming to glimpse a world moving behind an interplay of shadows. It was both real and illusory, which was confusing as it should be a massive dragon moving if Dragon major world was joining the fight.
And yet, that was precisely what Li Hao saw. It was in the distance and drawing nearer. Everyone knew that was Dragon major world, but also that it wouldn’t move.
The young man ceased watching after a while. His greatest priority at the moment was to hide himself and the dao universe. And then... he would wait until Dragon major world left the area.
The young man was going to wait for the other world masters to arrive on his doorstep, so he didn’t have to go to them one by one.
......
Phoenix major world.
The Phoenix master was one step ahead of Li Hao. Numerous exalted emperors had gathered on the major world and the world master threw her head back with laughter.
“Dragon major world is marching into battle! Dragon Region is about to ascend to be the sovereign of all!”
She flared her presence, coming down on all corners of her world!
The power of fire shook the land as the world master looked around. Phoenix was a major world with three seventh ranks, including the draconic seventh rank! That made them a premier world among seventh rank worlds.
“Today, I summon all of you for one reason only—we march on Thunder World!” Her clear voice rang through the hall. Phoenix’s local exalted emperors were assembled before her. Their dao was rooted in the dao universe, apart from the dragon, which made them all trustworthy.
As for the exalted emperors in the Foreign Affairs Office, there was no need for them to know more. They just needed to know that they had a mission. It was time to go to war!
The Phoenix master’s declaration sent a ripple of murmurs through the crowd. March on Thunder World?
Even Feng Yan was surprised. Although she’d known that this was happening, judging from her mother’s attitude... it seemed like they might move out immediately.
The draconic elder standing above them smiled faintly. The other Phoenix seventh rank was also a woman, but she appeared older. She was more senior than the Phoenix master, but weaker than the world master.
A grave expression hung on her face.
Thunder World!
This was the region’s only major world commanded by humans. They would’ve fallen a long time ago if they were easy to conquer. The Dragon master himself had led a campaign once, but the world escaped into the Thunder Region.
Chaos tribulations abounded there. Even someone like the Dragon master was smote by stronger chaos tribulations when he entered it. The stronger one was, the greater the tribulation. That forced the Dragon master to retreat from the area to prevent himself from being injured and leaving an opening to other enemies.
Although Thunder World only had one seventh rank, he was a formidable cultivator. If it wasn’t for the rest of the region’s iron grip over that world, more human seventh ranks might have appeared long ago.
While the Phoenix master was a peak seventh rank, the same went for that world master. Humans also had a greater control over worlds and dao universes. If they were to fight on home territory, it would be very hard for them to overcome a human-held world, even if the attack force was fielded by three seventh ranks.
