Ye Chen drove towards home when suddenly, his phone rang.

He glanced at it, and it was actually Zhou Susu calling.

He answered the call, and the voice of the policewoman came through.

"Ye Chen, are you not at home?" Zhou Susu asked over the phone.

Upon hearing Zhou Susu’s question, Ye Chen thought to himself that it was no surprise, policewomen are sharp enough to know he’s not at home.

"What? We just parted not long ago and you’re already missing me?" Ye Chen teased.

Zhou Susu didn’t respond, but instead asked anxiously, "Ye Chen, it’s so late, why haven’t you returned home yet?"

After Ye Chen left the police station, she’d been working constantly, hadn’t even had dinner, and when she looked up, it was already eleven. She thought of calling Ye Chen, but worried he might already be asleep.

Her mind was in conflict, but she ultimately decided to make the call. Upon hearing the noise in the background, she knew Ye Chen was still outside, which made her somewhat worried too.

Upon hearing the questioning tone from the policewoman, Ye Chen replied in a displeased manner, "It’s all because of you that I haven’t gone home yet."

Ye Chen parked the car to the side, patiently waited.
