Starting as the President of a Billionaire Group
Chapter 1276 - 1251: A Well-Intentioned Lie
Although Ye Chen wasn’t surprised that Dean Zhao would agree, he still found it somewhat amusing.
Just a moment ago, he acted as if there was nothing to discuss, even saying things like it would harm the hospital’s reputation, but as soon as he saw the money, his attitude changed completely.
People are indeed this realistic.
"Mr. Ye, when should we process the paperwork?" Dean Zhao, grinning from ear to ear, asked while holding the bank card.
"What paperwork?" Ye Chen asked, looking puzzled at the old man in front of him.
"Mr. Ye, of course, the paperwork to transfer the hospital to your name, unless you’ve changed your mind?" Dean Zhao’s expression changed slightly as he gripped the bank card tighter.
He was afraid that Ye Chen might really change his mind since he wouldn’t easily give up this opportunity.
Ye Chen knew that Dean Zhao must have misunderstood, so he quickly said: "Dean Zhao, although I’ve given you this billion, you’ll still remain as the dean."
He already owned a very famous hospital and didn’t want to be the dean of this one, not to mention he had many other things to do and couldn’t spend all day in the hospital, which would be a waste of his time and life.
Dean Zhao thought he misheard and quickly asked: "Mr. Ye, what did you say?"
Ye Chen repeated: "The billion is yours, and the dean’s position remains yours."
After hearing this, Dean Zhao showed a surprised expression.
He hadn’t expected that after getting the billion, he could still remain as the dean, but he didn’t mind not being the dean either, as he wouldn’t want for anything with this billion.
The hospital hadn’t brought him much wealth; instead, it frequently gave him headaches.
"Mr. Ye, how can this be? I can’t take your money and still keep the dean’s position; it’s rather inappropriate," Dean Zhao said, shaking his hand. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"I want you to stay, so stay," Ye Chen said flatly.
Since Ye Chen said so, Dean Zhao didn’t decline. Being the dean could still earn him some money.
No one would hold a grudge against money; no one would think there’s too much money.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Ye," Dean Zhao said with a smile.
He was thankful he hadn’t acted too impulsively earlier, or else driving out such a wealthy big shot would have been a huge loss.
"No need to be so polite, Dean Zhao," Ye Chen nodded and said.
"By the way, Mr. Ye, which ward is that patient in?" Dean Zhao suddenly remembered to ask.
"She’s in ward 508," Ye Chen replied.
Dean Zhao nodded and said no more.
"Alright, Dean Zhao, it’s settled then. The surgical equipment and instruments will be brought in these days; the patient needs surgery soon," Ye Chen said.
"Mr. Ye, I’ll follow your instructions. Whatever you need me to do, just let me know," Dean Zhao said with a smile.
Now Dean Zhao spoke to Ye Chen with utmost respect; he wouldn’t dare offend such a wealthy big shot and would even rely on Ye Chen.
Ye Chen turned and walked out of the office.
"Take care, Mr. Ye," Dean Zhao said from the door.
Only after seeing Ye Chen’s figure disappear, he returned to the office, looking at the bank card with excitement on his face.
He dialed a phone number and, after a few words, left the office.
After leaving the dean’s office, Ye Chen went to Uncle Qiang’s mother’s ward.
At this moment, Uncle Qiang was chatting with his mother, perhaps knowing his time with her was limited.
Seeing Ye Chen, Uncle Qiang said with a smile, "Boss Ye, you’re here?"
"Yes, I came to see the elderly lady," Ye Chen nodded and said.
He knew that before Uncle Qiang turned himself in, he and Uncle Qiang had to put on a show to reassure the elderly lady.
"Boss Ye, you’re so busy, there’s no need to waste time visiting an old woman like me," Uncle Qiang’s mother said gratefully.
"It’s only right for me to visit you, don’t say that," Ye Chen said politely.
Then he looked at Uncle Qiang’s mother and said, "Ma’am, there’s something I want to discuss with you."
Hearing this, Uncle Qiang’s mother quickly said, "Boss Ye, whatever it is, just tell me directly."
"The Group wants an excellent employee to establish a branch in Kyoto, and the person I have in mind is Uncle Qiang. I wonder if you agree," Ye Chen asked the elderly woman.
The elderly woman frowned, showing a reluctant expression.
Now, only Uncle Qiang was by her side. If he went so far away, she’d be truly alone.
But thinking about how Uncle Qiang had lost a happy family because of her, if she continued to be selfish for her own comfort and hinder Uncle Qiang’s development, she’d really be doing him a disservice.
After all, Uncle Qiang wasn’t young anymore, and finding a boss who appreciated him wasn’t easy. Missing this chance might mean no more opportunities later.
Though reluctant, the elderly woman gritted her teeth and said, "Boss Ye, since you appreciate my Ah-Qiang so much, how could I disagree? I thank you on behalf of Ah-Qiang."
Hearing this, Ye Chen was also deeply moved, knowing this was selfless motherly love.
The greatest in this world is mothers; they never consider themselves, always putting their children first, sacrificing selflessly.
"Ah-Qiang, quickly thank Boss Ye for appreciating you and giving you such a good opportunity," the elderly lady hastily told her son.
"Boss Ye, thank you very much," Uncle Qiang bowed to Ye Chen.
Only Ye Chen understood what Uncle Qiang was truly grateful for; he did this for fear that Uncle Qiang couldn’t bring himself to say goodbye to his mother.
Uncle Qiang felt meeting Ye Chen was truly his luck; perhaps it was heaven’s way of giving him a chance, letting Ye Chen reform him, help him through hard times, and save the most important person in his life.
"Uncle Qiang, how could someone of your age bow to me?" Ye Chen quickly stopped him.
But Uncle Qiang refused, "Boss Ye, you deserve it. You’ve helped me so much; words can’t express my gratitude."
The elderly woman was also somewhat moved by the scene in front of her, feeling it was a blessing for her son to be appreciated by such a good boss as Ye Chen.
Suddenly, Uncle Qiang’s mother asked, "Boss Ye, when will Ah-Qiang go to Kyoto?"
"Ma’am, don’t worry. After your surgery, Uncle Qiang will go," Ye Chen said with a smile.
He had already spoken with Susu, deciding Uncle Qiang would turn himself in after his mother’s surgery.
Hearing Ye Chen’s words, the elderly lady felt relieved, knowing she could spend a few more days with her son.
