Chapter 1277 - 1252: A Long-Awaited Order
Uncle Qiang was very grateful upon hearing this. Initially, he planned to surrender at the police station after his mother’s surgery, but he hadn’t expected Ye Chen to say that.
This meant he could spend a few more days with his mother.
"Uncle Qiang, you need to take good care of your mother these days. Once you’re in Kyoto, you won’t be able to," Ye Chen reminded him.
He had no choice but to come up with this benevolent lie; he couldn’t bear to tell the truth to the elderly woman — that would be too cruel.
Ye Chen thought of letting the old lady live in this lie, as it would give her some hope.
Just then, there was a rush of footsteps outside the door, and it sounded like more than one person.
An elderly man entered, accompanied by several doctors and nurses.
Ye Chen recognized the elderly man immediately; he was Dean Zhao of this hospital.
However, Uncle Qiang and the elderly lady were a bit surprised on seeing him.
Since they had been hospitalized, they had never seen this elder before, and he seemed to be a hospital executive.
Dean Zhao came to the bedside with a smile and greeted them, "Elderly lady, are you feeling better?"
Uncle Qiang’s mother nodded, looked at the elderly man, and said, "Much better, thank you for your concern. May I ask who you are?"
"I am the dean of this hospital. You can call me Dean Zhao," Dean Zhao said with a cheerful smile.
Upon hearing this, the elderly lady was quite surprised. How could such a high-ranking hospital leader come to visit her? This was impossible.
She was just an ordinary citizen; it’s not everyone who can meet the dean.
Yet now he personally came to see an old lady, which understandably shocked Uncle Qiang’s mother.
"Dean Zhao, this is truly a bother for you," Uncle Qiang’s mother said gratefully, looking at the elderly man.
Then she glanced at her son, hoping to find answers from him.
However, Uncle Qiang was also puzzled; he didn’t know why Dean Zhao would personally visit his mother, as he seemed not to know Dean Zhao at all.
"It’s no trouble, no trouble, this is what we should do," Dean Zhao said, waving his hand.
The medical staff behind him were also taken aback. They had thought the dean was taking them to visit a very important and powerful patient but hadn’t expected it to be an elderly lady.
Yet, looking at Uncle Qiang’s attire, he didn’t seem like someone wealthy. How could he know the dean?
"Mr. Ye, this is our hospital’s most capable medical team, ready to serve at your command," Dean Zhao said respectfully to Ye Chen.
Seeing Dean Zhao’s attitude toward Ye Chen, everyone present suddenly understood why Dean Zhao was so enthusiastic toward the elderly lady — it was entirely because of this young man in front of them.
Apparently, this young man wasn’t ordinary; otherwise, how could Dean Zhao be so courteous?
While chatting, a system notification rang in Ye Chen’s mind.
"Ding! Congratulations to the host for receiving a new external delivery order. Would you like to accept it?"
Upon hearing this, Ye Chen felt a surge of joy; it had been a long time since he received an order.
He had previously wondered if the system was broken, as there hadn’t been an order for so long.
Fortunately, Ye Chen had been busy lately, or he would have been bored to death.
"Accept!"
Ye Chen replied in his mind.
He checked the system prompt and saw the guest wanted something cold and refreshing.
Now that he had done everything he needed to do, Ye Chen could deliver the order with peace of mind.
"I’m sorry to everyone here, but I have some matters to attend to. I’ll leave for now; once the surgery time is set, I’ll contact you," Ye Chen said as he walked out of the ward.
He exited the hospital, got in his sports car, and arrived at a cold drink shop.
Walking in, he saw a girl standing at the ordering counter and said with a smile, "Hello, may I have a chocolate-flavored ice cream?"
He didn’t look at the menu; he just said it casually, as every cold drink shop had ice cream.
The girl smiled and nodded, and Ye Chen paid via his phone before sitting down to wait.
Then the girl carried a bag and an ice cream, handing them to Ye Chen, "Sir, please take these." 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
"I only ordered one," Ye Chen questioned with a puzzled look.
"Yes, the other one is a gift for you. It’s too hot today, and delivering orders is really tough. You deserve a cool treat," the girl said with a smile.
Her smile revealed two beautiful dimples.
Ye Chen didn’t refuse; he took both ice creams and left.
He went to a secluded area, where a wormhole appeared ahead.
He walked into it, carrying his items.
When he reappeared, he was at a hotel.
Seeing this building puzzled Ye Chen; someone ordered delivery in a hotel — this was truly interesting.
No time to think further, Ye Chen headed to the hotel entrance.
At the door stood two men in black suits, who stopped Ye Chen, dressed in his delivery uniform.
"Young man, this is a hotel; delivery personnel aren’t allowed to enter," one man in black said.
"I don’t want to enter either, but this is ordered by a hotel guest. You stopping me might cause some inconvenience for the guest," Ye Chen replied curtly.
"Well..." Upon hearing Ye Chen’s words, the man in black hesitated.
"Young man, what did the guest order?" asked the other man.
"Ice cream," Ye Chen said, handing over the bag.
Upon hearing this, the two men in black felt speechless. The hotel had everything, yet the guest ordered ice cream at midnight.
Although they found it amusing, they didn’t voice it.
This hotel was very upscale; the guests staying here were either rich or noble. Annoying a guest meant they wouldn’t be working here anymore.
Working at this hotel was a dream job for many, and they didn’t want to lose it because of their meddling.
"If you aren’t allowed in, I’ll call the guest and inform them I’m being stopped outside," Ye Chen shrugged and said.
Upon hearing this, the man in black quickly said, "Sir, we can’t stop you from fulfilling a guest’s order. You can quickly come and go."
"Okay, don’t worry, I won’t make trouble for you," Ye Chen said confidently.
He carried the ice cream into the hotel, thinking that once inside, nobody would dictate when he could leave; it was entirely up to him.
Following the address on the order, he arrived at the entrance of a very large presidential suite, its doors wide open.
Inside were many people, and as Ye Chen looked in from outside, he saw a familiar face,
