Special Base

A few days later,

The flight landed at the special base again. This time none of them stepped out. The news about the accident had already spread everywhere.

This time the people were cautious. Some of them were new faces. They were from the 4th zone, wanting to go back to the 5th zone.

There were others who were the same people who had traveled with them 2 days ago.

Jeremy Night looked at the scene outside through the window. He didn’t know how long the flight would stop.

It was already night time.

Alarm!

All of a sudden, a loud alarm sounded across the special base. Hearing that, the passengers in the flight were alarmed.

"What’s going on here?"

"Is there a beast tide?"

"We should not leave the flight."

"What will happen next?"

"What if the flight is attacked?"

The passengers in the flight were panicking. They didn’t know what to do next. Compared to last time, there were few veterans in the flight.

Head Harold stood up and started to calm everyone down.

Jeremy Night’s eyes turned cold. He used his eye power to look at the scenes outside. He saw the outlines of the corrupted beasts.

The special base was built to train the genius beast tamers. It was also a place to deal with the beast tides.

Jeremy Night could not judge the strength of the corrupted beasts. He was just sizing them up based on their sizes. They were large in number.

His brain came up with a solution. He thought that the large number of beasts were Tier-6 beasts. The beasts behind them were Tier-7.

This outcome sent a cold shiver down his spine.

On the other hand, two Tier-7 Beast Tamers came to the runway. They approached the flight.

Seeing that there were passengers inside, they inquired with the cabin crew.

Knowing that there were veterans and able Beast Tamers inside, they were surprised. Then they entered the flight and looked toward everyone.

Among the two people, one was male and the other was female. The female Beast Tamer swept her gaze across the passengers. She recognized the veterans here.

"We are from the Special Beast Team. Right now, the special base is under a surprise attack. We need the help of the Beast Tamers here."

"Half of the team stationed here went away earlier for a mission. We lack manpower right now," she said in a solemn tone.

Hearing that, the veterans and other Beast Tamers understood. They couldn’t just worry about their lives. Since the special base lacked manpower right now, it was time for them to support.

Head Harold stood up from his seat. The other Tier-7 Beast Tamers stood up next.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night was about to stand up, but Head Harold pressed his shoulder.

"You stay here. This beast tide is different. You will be swept away in no time," Harold said in a serious tone. His face looked grim.

Jeremy Night nodded his head, but he was shocked internally. He had not seen Head Harold making such a face before.

Even during the 5th zone beast tide, he had been calm and collected. Yet for this small base, he was showing apprehension.

Jeremy decided to listen this time.

The two Tier-7 Beast Tamers from the special base were happy. Six veterans had decided to offer help. They were between Tier-6 and Tier-7.

Then they both saw a Tier-8 Beast Tamer and they were relieved. Head Harold then left with the others.

Now the flight had only Tier-5 Beast Tamers and lower. If the Tier-5 Beast Tamers had wanted to, they could have participated.

They could handle the Tier-5 beasts and withstand the attacks of the Tier-6 beasts.

Jeremy Night was dissatisfied internally. If he had Tier-5 strength, he would have participated.

The 2 people from the special base didn’t make things difficult and didn’t force anyone. Otherwise, the Tier-5 Beast Tamers in the flight would have followed them.

Boom! 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

A continuous, deafening noise came from the area outside the special base. Jeremy Night continued to look into the distance.

He saw only the outlines of the beasts. He didn’t see any Beast Tamers. What was more, unlike other battlefields, the dust and sand covered the view at night. You couldn’t even look at the corrupted beasts clearly.

He then looked around and saw that others were looking at the scenes outside. Jeremy shook his head.

He could understand why the flight hadn’t taken off. If they had flown in this situation, some bird-type beasts would have attacked them.

Screech!

A bird cry sounded in the sky. Hearing that, Jeremy Night was stunned. He had just been thinking about aerial-type beasts.

But he didn’t expect to hear the sound from a bird-type beast so soon. Others in the flight were surprised.

The passengers were all serious and nervous. Yet, there were some people who were making jokes even under this situation.

Boom!

Suddenly, a huge claw tore through the top body of the flight. The roof was gone. The next second, a massive claw of a bird came into view.

The next second, the bird beast captured a few passengers with its claws and rose from the spot.

It happened in the blink of an eye.

Before Jeremy Night could return to his senses, he heard a blood-curdling sound. The passengers in the flight were terrified.

Jeremy saw the open top. He could see the sky clearly, but it was nighttime. He then found a window exit.

Under this chaos and screaming, he broke the window exit and jumped out. He feared that the bird might come again.

Screech!

Not long after, the same bird beast appeared again. It started attacking the flight with its claws.

Puchak!

Blood splattered the ground. The sharp claws tore through the bodies of the passengers one by one.

The scene was gruesome. Jeremy was stunned by the strength of the beast, because it was not a Tier-6 beast.

The size of the claws alone made it clear. It easily caught the flight body. It was a terrifying Tier-7 beast.

Jeremy Night was down below the flight body. He hid himself under it. He didn’t know anyone else present at the base right now.
