5th Zone-City A

Inside the Red Moon Chamber, Elder John stated his request to Head Harold.

But Harold’s heart set off storms. He couldn’t believe what he was hearing right now. An Elder from the special base wanted Jeremy Night to be part of the special base.

He then collected his thoughts. He looked into Elder John’s eyes. He was truly happy for Jeremy Night, but he knew about the kid’s special circumstances.

"Elder John, I’m happy that you want him at the special base. But he is not like other Beast Tamers. He is not a healer or a technician. He is a Striker," Harold said to him.

"Striker," John uttered.

A quick gleam appeared in his eyes. He was not new to the term "STRIKER."

It was the term used for the Beast Tamers who use their lifetime beast’s ability to fight against the corrupted beasts themselves, instead of sending their lifeline beasts to fight.

In most cases, it was a choice. If it was a non-combatant beast but its abilities were lethal, then the Beast Tamers preferred to be STRIKERS.

Now, many things started making sense to John.

"No wonder the kid is fighting against the corrupted beasts alone. It’s not that the kid is worried about his beast getting crippled."

"Instead, the kid doesn’t want to rely on the lifeline beast at all," John thought.

When everything became clear, complex emotions appeared in his eyes. The popularity of a STRIKER was not good. They had a higher risk of dying on the battlefield.

He doubted Head Sandra and the other elders would agree to invest in the kid. Even the higher-ups from the Human Alliance could raise questions.

His will started to waver. He wanted to recruit the kid to the special base badly.

Head Harold saw that Elder John was silent. He knew that the casualty rate of STRIKERS was high, so no force was willing to pour resources into them.

If they died on the battlefield prematurely, then their investment would go to waste.

But Jeremy Night’s situation was slightly different. He could use his lifeline beast in battle, since it had a high-grade bloodline.

However, doing so would draw attention from unwanted people, including criminals and other evil beast tamers.

He said, "Elder John, Jeremy Night could use his lifeline beast to fight, but he doesn’t want to do that."

Elder John snapped back.

He then asked, "Is it because of the lifeline beast being non-combatant?"

Head Harold shook his head and smiled. Then he began to explain that Jeremy Night’s lifeline beast information was set to confidential by the Human Alliance higher-ups.

No one else could access the information; they didn’t have the authority. He suspected that Jeremy Night’s lifeline beast possessed a high-grade bloodline.

It had given him the ability to fight across Tiers. Head Harold noted that Jeremy Night had participated in more than three Beast Invasion fights.

The last one was a special base fight. He hadn’t summoned his lifeline beast in any of those battles.

Jeremy Night had contributed the most and managed to survive alone in the end.

Elder John’s heart was stirred. Earlier, he had thought a STRIKER had a bleak future, but he found out that Jeremy Night’s situation was different.

"Can you show me his database?" Elder John asked.

He truly wanted to see whether access was denied or not.

Head Harold turned on the flat device and showed the page of the database. The database was similar everywhere; it was under the control of the Human Alliance.

No one could change the information without having permission from the Human Alliance.

Elder John turned the device to his side and searched for the name Jeremy Night. The profile of Jeremy Night appeared.

He clicked on the personal information. Seeing the information on the screen, he began to read it.

His gaze fell on the talent.

"Supreme Combat Body," he uttered.

He then understood it was a good talent, since it was effective during close combat. It was rated by the Human Alliance as an "A" grade talent.

But he knew the true power of the Supreme Combat Body. There were predecessors with this talent who had been Tier-8 Beast Tamers before.

Those predecessors fought alongside their beasts against the corrupted beasts; they themselves killed many higher-tier beasts. It was because of them that the term "STRIKER" was born.

Earlier, he was hesitating. Now, he thought the survivability of Jeremy Night would increase on the battlefield. The talent also gave him strong recovery.

If it were other talents, he would have hesitated. But he could bet on the Supreme Combat Body.

Now that he had heard from Head Harold that Jeremy Night’s lifeline beast gave him the ability to fight across tiers, it added a higher percentage to his survivability.

If the young man could kill across Tiers, then he was safe as long as he didn’t come across a beast above the higher stage.

He made up his mind right then. He decided to recruit Jeremy Night even if the lifeline beast turned out to be non-combatant.

Out of curiosity, he clicked on the lifeline beast section.

[Access Denied!]

The message popped up. Seeing that, he was surprised, because he had seen this before. This could only be done by the higher-ups in the Human Alliance.

He then turned the device toward Head Harold.

"Now, I know everything. Unlike other STRIKERS, this young man has more advantages. He will survive worse situations than others."

"I’m now even more ready to recruit the young man. Where is he right now?" John asked.

To that, Head Harold smiled. He was happy. He hadn’t wanted to reveal too much about Jeremy Night’s lifeline beast, for example, that it could be a beast with a high-grade bloodline.

But Elder John had agreed to recruit him based on Jeremy Night’s Supreme Combat Body talent alone.

He then phoned the elder in the front office and learned that Jeremy Night had gone to the wilderness. He would probably return before midnight.

"The kid went to the wilderness. He will return before midnight," he said to John.

John was surprised again. He thought that, being a STRIKER, the kid wasn’t afraid of entering the wilderness often. His eyes flashed with appreciation for the young man.
