Strongest Nova: Path of Vengeance
Chapter 181: Records of Raven
Stanley sat in his room, looking at his watch that showed his Repentance points.
3%.
A single task had taken him up to 3%. If he were to gain tasks of the same length, he would reach 100% in just a year or two.
’Will they even let me be free once it reach 100%?’ Stanley wondered. He was doubtful that was ever going to be the case at all. He couldn’t see why anyone would want to give him freedom given what he was.
He closed the watch and looked up. "Room, any information on Raven Darkwing?" he asked.
"No news on Raven Darknwing," the room’s computer spoke.
"Uhh... what about Shadow Nova?" he asked.
"The search for the Shadow Nova has been continuing for the past month, but nothing of substance has been found," the room said.
Stanley thought for a bit and asked, "Show me everything you know about my background and the people involved in my background. Authorization SW-06668."
An array of information was thrown out all of a sudden, all of which either had some information about him, his town in the mountains of Eyland or Raven.
The destruction of the town was nothing new to him at this point. He had seen it all, so there was nothing for him to be surprised about anymore.
He browsed through the picture before landing on an old one about Raven. He seen this picture before, and yet the anger he felt never really disappeared when he saw this picture.
He moved it aside and went past a few things before landing on Raven’s background itself.
Raven was born in the country of Eyland. Not the modern one, but the older one.
Eyland was a large chunk of the western part of the continent as well as two major islands off the coast.
During the war, Eyland had split into three different countries, with the leaders of the original country moving to one of the othe two island and no longer remaining in the main continent.
That was what they now called Eyland. The previous Eyland mainland had switched to Franoss and Komos.
Stanley and his people, based on old Eylish had actually been from Franoss rather than the island of Eyland. That was why that despite only 150 years passing, the language of the island seemed so different.
If Stanley was ever to visit Franoss, they had said that he would understand a lot of their language even without needing the chip in his neck to translate for him.
Raven was from that Eyland as well, the current Franoss. She was born to a normal family but in an unfortunately terrible part of the town.
Her family weren’t very rich so they had to get their house in the more dangerous part of the town, which in turn caused their location to be more dangerous as well.
People getting robbed, people getting beat up, and even people getting killed was a regular part of life in this place.
When Raven was just 7 year old, her brother Wren was born as well.
By that age, Raven had already started showing powers at the age of 7, and as a Nova in a particularly bad neighborhood, she had no lack of souls to feed on.
By the time she was 10 years old, she had absorbed over a thousand souls and had started improving her powers. Just as a child, she was as strong as most adults, but she hadn’t known that yet.
Then, one day, a group of people came to rob their home. However, that was just a front Raven would learn later on.
They weren’t here for any money, but rather Raven herself as her powers had slowly become popular around the town over the last 3 years.
And since the world was just recently made aware of the existences of Novas, anyone with a brain could tell that Raven was one as well.
A house in this sort of place never had anything anyway. They were obviously never there to steal anything material. They wanted a child Nova, and as for why they wanted her, one could only imagine that they were most likely going to sell her to someone.
It didn’t take long for the parents to realize that they weren’t there for any riches, but in fact Raven. They tried to fight back, but they were too weak.
As for the people that came, they had no qualms in killing either of the man or woman.
The news report said that Raven had likely witnessed the death of her own parents, which had caughed her to kill all of the grown ups that had come for her at that time.
No one really saw how the fight went on, but only that the men that had invaded the house were left with holes in their bodies and amny other appendages cut off.
As for Raven, she was nowhere to be seen. And neither was her brother.
At the age of 10, Raven had left her house and had went somewhere to take care of herself. As for where she had went, no one truly had any idea at all.
Raven and her brother had completely disappeared off the grid.
Then 3 years later, at the age of 13, she appeared on the world once again.
She appeared outside a large building that looked like a normal building from outside, but was in fact a front for a large criminal busines for a massive human trafficking ring.
She had tracked these people down as the ones that were the reason behind why she had been tried to kidnapped, and why her parents had to die that horrible night.
She had come to take revenge on these people, and revenge she took.
All that happened inside that building on that day could be explained in just a single, simple word.
Massacre.
When the police arrived, Raven was nowhere to be found. What they found instead was floor after floor of blood ground with dead body parts as well as a lot of different types of powers that were used in that building.
In the building with nearly 25 floors, over a thousand people had died that day, all of which was gone to improve her even more.
The police tried to find her, the government searching for her at every instance, and yet they could never find her anywhere at all. They would see a site or two pop up from time to time that looked like Raven had been through there based on the death and destruction.
But nothing ever concrete had come from that.
Then, a decade later when everything seemed to be dying down, the Darkwing Cult revealed itself to the world as a force to be reckoned with.
At its helm was Wren Darkwing, the little brother Raven had taken care of all this time, and Raven herself.
When she showed herself to the world, she had already become strong enough that she didn’t need to care for normal police and organizations from finding her.
Not to mention, her own Darkwing cult considered her a deity that was strong enough to save her from any sort of problems that she couldn’t handle.
A force had appeared in this world and the countries could do nothing but watch. They bid their time, waiting for something to happen and that was the biggest mistake they had ever done.
The Darkwing clan, as they called themselves, made an announcement with Wren as their figurehead for that announcement. And in that announcement, they announced how one could get a Nova to become strong as efficiently as possible.
That was where the idea of farms came about and became popular before anyone else really thought of it. Once the idea was out into the world, the government couldn’t stop it.
Immediately, the world turned into chaos, and the Darkwing cult disappeared off the face of the world once more, never again to be seen anywhere.
The government had way too many problems at hand to worry about them. With farms popping up anywhere and everywhere, everyone was hard-pressed to find these new novas and their farms.
The fights between Novas and regular humans had reached a crescendo around 120 years ago right before Plasmium was discovered.
As for Raven and her group, they had gone to the larger island in the ocean and found themselves a spot where no one could find them with a group of orphans and started raising them as cattle.
Numerous farms rose and fell in just a few years, but over 150 years passed before theirs was even discovered.
And there was a single reason why their farm was now gone, and that was all because Sheila had somehow found them on one of her scouting mission.
Stanley put away the files and looked at his own. There was nothing in those files that was new at all. Nothing else had been found at all.
The destruction that lay at the place he once called home simply made it unrecognizable. The grave where his mother was buried was gone as well.
Stanley started at the pictures for a while and stopped. He had seen enough and no new information seemed to have been added.
No one knew where Raven had disappeared after her fight with the group of cops that had come from the city close to them after realizing that the tremors that they recorded were coming from there.
Stanley shook his head and closed it all before going to sleep. It seemed he would have a wait for a while before actually trying to go for his revenge.
