Mina revealed everything she had said and done, and Carlotta’s heart sank to the bottom. She looked at Ethan Barnes.

Ethan’s gaze slowly fell upon her and never left. His gaze was so cold, cold with the sharp edge of a knife, as if it were peeling her skin.

He had never looked at her like this before, and Carlotta knew that years of feelings had come to an end in this moment.

"King Hayden, I actually sympathize with you. Having such a hindering Princess Hayden must be troubling. Why don’t I send this Princess Hayden on her way?" As she spoke, Mina intended to cut Carlotta’s throat.

Ethan stopped in his tracks, not turning around, and said calmly, "Carlotta, I promised to take care of you for a lifetime, and that will never change, but beyond that, I can offer you nothing."

Carlotta knew he was going to find Celeste Linden.
