"Idiot!" Li Yifei cursed, leaping up with force like a giant bird, swooping down on the man who was struck but not dead. With a whoosh, he pinned him down, twisted him with both hands, rendering him silent.

If Li Yifei had been one or two seconds late, the man’s shout would have brought a swarm of patrols.

Hastily dragging the four bodies into the shadows, Li Yifei waited for a patrol team to pass before pulling Babua along and dashing through. This was also to punish his mistake. Babua knew that the chance to clear his name was at hand, and if he didn’t seize it, his future would be bleak, assuming he survived. So he dared not complain, bearing the pain as he followed Li Yifei’s lead.
