"Are you the one who saved them?" A black-haired guy who was armed with a spear asked after he stepped forward.

"No, they were just a bunch of strangers who were on my way," Luke replied. "If you don’t want to get in trouble, don’t approach."

Luke was being way too unsociable than usual, but he couldn’t help it since he couldn’t tell if those guys would do something unexpected. He never trusted Aivern too much, but even so, he fell for his plans, and now he was in that situation. Regardless, those guys didn’t get in Luke’s way since they could see the signs of his battle against the overlord. They had quite the group there, around fifty members, and they had more on their base. However, they never got even close to that fortress. They were too cautious and didn’t have experience with that kind of situation.

When the sun was setting, Luke finally finished his job and then went to destroy the red crystal. While he looked everywhere, he didn’t find any signs of useful things around. Since the overlord was basically a tree, normal items couldn’t be used by him.

"At least store some potions, damn it," Luke said before he kicked the red crystal.

Once the fortress began to fall apart, Luke immediately returned to his fortress. He thought of convincing those guys to swear allegiance to him, but it would take too much time, and Luke didn’t feel like talking with anyone. Not to mention, his first impression was as bad as it could have been.
