Chapter 331: Payback (2)

Luke was pretty far away, so it was hard to tell if his instincts were right... but in the end, he concluded that Frank was holding back in order to appeal to his followers. Considering everything he did so far, while trying to avoid casualties, not summoning possible human sacrifices and appearing to fight just when the big boss enemy showed up, it was clear that his goal was to look as good as possible to his followers. That way, they would work harder and they would try to convince others to follow him as well. Considering Frank’s nature, Luke’s guess was probably correct, but the still needed to be careful since he had Aivern’s help for quite a while.

"Things might get troublesome after this... From their perspective, Frank isn’t sure an ordinary leader, he is almost like their savior and since most of the humans are with them, they might call him the savior of the whole human species..." Luke thought.

Luke felt like sighing, even without giving them orders, Frank was certain that his followers will come to his rescue if the necessity arises. Considering that he was playing with an overlord that was probably at a higher level than Luke than it might take a while for that to happen. Still, Luke will have to take the battle to somewhere else in order the avoid problems. Fortunately, he had the necessary skills to do that. Hopefully, Frank won’t have the means to run away, otherwise, things will get really troublesome.

After he had finished with his little show, Frank began to prepare to finish off the enemy. All of a sudden and for no apparent reason, he began to land more and heavier blows on the enemy. Only Luke and the enemy overlord knew that he was doing that... Taking the fight a bit more seriously. Due to a sudden wave of rage, the lizardman charged while preparing a big attack. That was foolish... when he tried to punch Frank, he just sidestepped and then dodged before punching the enemy in the stomach with all his might. The lizardman fell to his knees and then Frank finished him off with a knee attack on his face that crushed the skull. Once that happened, his survivors cheered on his victory after he raised his fist upward... He sure could act so embarrassing like that, even though he was in his fifties... Still, Luke had to respect that strength.

After cheering for a while, the survivors resumed their fighting. There were still many lizardmen left and they would only die when the red crystal was destroyed. Frank probably won’t do that because the fight would make his people stronger and he would get tons of experience and gold coins as well. He had just defeated the last overlord on Earth, so he will probably move on to the next world... in any case, while he was watching his followers finishing off the job, ecstatic in his victory, Frank never noticed Luke’s approach. He just heard someone landing nearby and when he turned around, he saw Luke grabbing his neck... Before anyone could react, Luke used Checkpoint, and then they reappeared on the eastern coast of Korea.

"You?" Frank said while granting Luke’s hands.

"Yes, me. Now die," Luke said and then smashed Frank’s body against the ground.

The impact opened a large crater around them, but Luke could feel that he didn’t cause much damage, even though he couldn’t see Frank since his attack raised a dust curtain. That was because the grip in his hands didn’t decrease a bit. In fact, it grows strong enough for him to feel his bones being crushed. Luke attempted to punch using his left hand, but before he could land, Luke felt his hands being grabbed again. In the next moment, he got kicked in the stomach and flew upward for several meters. As expected, Frank had become a survivors that relies on physical attacks instead of magic to fight, Luke realized that while he felt like screaming.

Thanks to Pain Resistance and the effects of Rage and Berserker, Luke managed to stay conscious, but that hit sure got him. He began to focus on Concentrated Strike, but then Frank jumped to attack him. Luke didn’t even see him moving, he only got hit on his left temple and was sent flying to the distance. He didn’t expect that the enemy would be that fast and he paid the price for it.

After rolling on the ground and hitting a semi-destroyed building and making the last part collapse, Luke finally stopped, but then he felt a foot being put on his chest. Frank sure got fast and strong, but it was only natural since he had been using followers for almost a year to gain strength. In any case, with his rough, but amused voice, he decided to ask what Luke had imagined.

"Where is that guy? Did he send you to kill me?" Frank asked.

Something snapped inside Luke’s head when that image of Aivern appeared there. He punched Frank’s leg and then forced him to move to the side. Frank frowned since that punch packed a lot more power than he had expected, to the point his bone cracked a little and some of the flesh was ripped apart. Still, the wound soon closed. That was one crazy level of regeneration. He was used to fighting against enemies of that level, even though he liked to put a good show for his followers now and then.

"It seems my guess was right... He was hiding something and used you," Frank said. "Still, it doesn’t matter. I learned what I needed from him and after I kill you, he will be the next. Then those dogs that you call parents will follow you to the grave for betraying me, the savior of this world."
